      FACTS. It’s one thing I love about the transfer portal.It’s given incredible players at crappy programs a chance to win.
      Is there bad that comes with it? Absolutely. But this is some of the good that does.

    As a Florida Gators fan I was a bit stung from that loss to Colorado but I just really hope that this time around they can actually form a consistent tournament presence instead of being only good enough to make it every few years because they haven’t been the same since Billy Donovan left. I am very happy for UConn (they’re my second favorite team) winning it all again, it’s been nice seeing them finally staying good again and I wouldn’t be surprised at this point if they pulled a 3-peat. As someone that lives in Indianapolis and does like Purdue (my third favorite team), I was so glad they finally broke through to not only a Final Four but making a national championship as well. In a way I think Matt Painter saved his job at Purdue by making such a deep run like this and I could see Zach Edey getting onto an NBA roster and being a key piece off the bench. Although nobody with mid-majors went past the second round, at least NC State made up for it considering their story. Overall 2024 was a really good year and as always more history will always keep being made. Maybe someday we have a tournament so crazy where every single double digit seed (10-16) wins at least one game, possibly even multiple 10s or 11s in that mix.

    You need a little bit better research. Just one example is saying that Few lost in the first round in 91. He wasn't head coach till 99.

    • @hardwood_yt
      @hardwood_yt  8 месяцев назад

      If I said 91, then it’s just a misspeak. You can legitimately see the research in the table graphic that I’m showing as I say it. I used Stathead to find that information.
      You’d have to timestamp it though so I could see. I believe it was 2001.

    I have so much respect for what Dan Hurley was able to do with both of his teams. But the dudes got issues. Can’t win a championship and then say “guess we won by a lot again. Oh well”

  • @avcote1907
    @avcote1907 9 месяцев назад +1

    Were any other UConn fans annoyed with Dan Hurley in that final game? He caused a turnover when he stepped on the court. And snapped at Edey for an apparent foul (I thought the screen was fine but I could be wrong). Be an adult, don’t take your anger out on a student

    • @YeIIowNBA
      @YeIIowNBA 9 месяцев назад +3

      No, because it’s probably muscle memory. He probably does that during practice and was so locked in, he didn’t even realize. Even if he did realize, it isn’t a big of a deal. He’s a great coach, a psycho, but I’d argue he’s like that to take the focus off the players and put it on him.
      Besides, if cam Spencer didn’t care, why would you care? It doesn’t matter if you or other UConn fans are annoyed by it, he pushes his players and the players want that. Clearly that turnover didn’t matter regardless.
      It’s not “be an adult” it’s “be a coach” which is what he did. Nobody would care if a coach did that in the 80s or 90s or early 20s.

      of course. that's obnoxious behaviour.

    • @avcote1907
      @avcote1907 9 месяцев назад

      @@YeIIowNBA That’s a fair point, and I know it didn’t matter in the end. It just bugs me that it had caused the dumbest turnover of the night. (And they were playing against Purdue!) Also, I know if Painter went and spoke to one of the guys like that, it would definitely cross a line for me. It’s still unprofessional even for someone like Hurley. I agree he’s a great coach, I just wish it wasn’t overshadowed by how hot headed he is

    • @totalbodyperformancefitnes4813
      @totalbodyperformancefitnes4813 9 месяцев назад

      Don’t worry so much about it. They repeated. It’s ok.

    • @YeIIowNBA
      @YeIIowNBA 9 месяцев назад

      @@avcote1907 Like I said, I agree, but even cam said he didn’t realize. His words, not mine. Was it stupid? Of course it was, but it’s kind of genius at the same time, because of what I said above. It takes attention off his players and puts it onto him, so now his players aren’t being attacked by the media and stressing them out or feeling as if they need to do “more.” If UConn lost, it would be about Hurley not the players, where as if Purdue lost (which they did) it was about Edey and not painter (and Edey played phenomenal, but one person can’t beat five)
      Now imagine if Hurley was normal, all the media would be targeted toward the players.
