Russ another cool place. The wrecker challenge/ pulls seemed to be fun. Looking forward to warmer weather and the blooms videos. Be safe and well my friend.
I am so happy and 🙏 that you sat 2 to 3 hours like you did just to get into that place so we all could see what's going on .I believe all those people you see are part of h I s family tree and I'm glad you walked away. good luck with all that and thanks for doing it I hope it's fun. On to the races.
I am really thinking about going to the wrecker games this year in march. Fell in love with Matt's off road recovery's you tube channel. One of a kind.
🙋♀Hello Russ! Agreed that was a beautiful kodak picture postcard perfect scene of the snowcapped mountain, the courtyard was interesting before the museum, honoring veterans, the pioneer families. I liked seeing the statues. Really nicely done. I even liked the stone benches around the middle too sit & take it all in. Wrecker games looked exciting. Drew a large crowd. What a long wait you had in that line. I appreciated seeing the museum, & the wrecker games. Thank you!👍🍀Happy🍀St. Patricks🍀Day!🍀
I've been watching MORR for nearly two years, and I had no idea Hurricane was near that big. I honestly thought it was about 1/2 that size. But Matt doesn't show a lot of in town driving, and I grew up in a much smaller town. I was surprised by the crowd of people at the wrecker games, but you were the first one to show that line to get in. I'm not sure I would have any sanity after waiting 2.5 hours to get in - lol. Thanks for showing that museum. I could spend all day in a little museum like that.
Hurricane has grown by leaps and bounds over the last 25 years, it used to be a lot tinier. It may also seem bigger because the greater St. George area is like one big city.
U are indeed in the "land of dixie" [ an entire interesting 'story' historically on that...] Spent last winter in that area; tremendous hiking & abounding beauty all directions... So much history/culture! Also when up above "hurricun"; narrow, winding road & meters are @ every "pullout"; must pay.....DIFFERANT🤔😊 Be sure to consider opportunities for Amazing Sunsets & Star Gazing...Phenomenal; GLAD UR THERE, Mr......😁✌️🤙
Thanks for covering this event Russ. Towards the end, the snow-capped mountain range looked like a back-drop for a Clint Eastwood western. If I'd been there I would've spent most of my time staring at the scenery. On a side note; yes, you waited for hours and the older some of us get the harder that is, lol. But!,....you still had it made. You're little rv was right there with you. A place to take a nap, get some hot coffee or something to eat and warm up out of the cold. A lot of those folks weren't so lucky. Just trying to find the silver lining. Anyway, that area sure is growing - wow! Thanks again for doing this for your channel. Cheers!
Russ. You are also showing us places and events not to go to if one is short for time or have a bad case of Hemorrhoids. But all the same, thank you for your videos. You are truly great recon for us.
We were there. Lines to get tickets when much faster later in the day. We just pretty much drove straight through, at a slow pace, but it went fast. They were just handing out the bags w/o checking everyone's registration. They'll figure it out better. We also parked on the beach right off the road and didn't do the shuttle, which I was so glad for. Lines for the shuttle were crazy long.
I Love going through that gorge. I stayed in Beaver Dam a month and had a fantastic view of the entire valley. I drove by that state park going to the KOA and it looks so inviting the lake is much bigger then I remember. Yrs ago my daughter and I drove on the beautiful trip from Salt Lake to Las Vegas and that gorge was the one thing she remembers so well now 23 yrs later. Very impressive. I get to go through it again this Spring. Hope the day is as beautiful as the one you had. So looking forward to summer in Utah.
Russ, thanks for the tour through Hur-i-can. They definitely need to speed up the entry line. Maybe pick up the pass and entry somewhere else and then pull into Sand Hollow and show your pass and in you go.
Nice video Russ. I enjoyed the Museum and your look at the games. Watched a lot of videos on Matts games what a fun time. Unfortunately, they lost a good friend during the event, and I am sorry for that. Take care Russ until the next time.
What a sight to see looking up at snow covered mountains from a lower elevation. Hope you can find spring blooms. Looks like Matts Wrecker Games will become a popular sport. Thanks Russ.
I use to drive through Hurricane many times between Phoenix and St. George for Warren Jeffs Trials. Every time I drive through that town I think of all the "Lost Boys" being abandoned there by their FLDS families. What a shame. But it's interesting how much Hurricane has grown since back then. Maybe next time I travel through will have better memories traveling though to Zion.
I live in St George, Utah, and do as much traveling as possible in southern Utah. The geological wonders are incredible-unique in the world. You don’t realize it until you get out and drive and walk it habitually. It is stunning. Catch some videos on the Potash drive to Moab. That’s one of the most scenic drives in the U S. 😊You have to remember that those huge family trees are often the families of early polygamists.
Wow, you pronounced the name of Hurricane as the locals do. I am impressed. So cool to see you in our area filming. If you get the chance, you should go up Highway 18 north of St. George to the Mountain Meadow Massacre site. Well, if we meet you that would be cool. You should come to Leeds and see the historic silver reef area. There are a few other historic plaques here in Leeds as well.
You may not know it but all those tow truck drivers actually do off road recoveries especially Matt of Matt's Off Road Recovery and Rory of Trail Mater Recovery. Matt works southern Utah and Rory works Moab, Utah.
There's talk about an annual event. Hopefully a bit more organized next time. There have been several drone videographers showing the ariel views of the event.
Hi there, I hope you're doing well. I wanted to check in regarding our recent correspondence. I noticed that we haven't been able to connect lately, and I was hoping to see if there's anything I can do to help facilitate our agreement. I appreciate your time and hope to hear back from you soon.😊
I caught another fan video, and if the fans have anything to say about it, there will be another one next year. The crowd went wild when Matt asked if they wanted to do it again.
You definitely might like to check out Robby Layton's channel as well as Matts Off-Road Recovery channel here on RUclips. There's some good stories behind all this. First year event, all things considered, I'd say it seems they did okay.
I don't think they expected so many people. I didn't go this time mainly because I figured that would happen. I don't need to be hiking around the rocks.
Here's another weird Utah city name for you and your subscribers: Tooele (pronounced Too-EL-ah.) Not much to it but due west of it is Grantsville where you can find the Donner-Reed Party Museum containing artifacts from the caravan. It also has location maps & GPS coordinates to the party's wagon wheel ruts on the actual part of the trail and salt flats that are nearby. Years ago, they claimed to have one of the infamous "cooking pots" but I'm not sure, in these political correctness times, they would have it displayed any longer.
I don’t know… Waiting 2 1/2 hours just to watch a tow truck tow a jeep through sand would not be worth it to me. I can see that for free on any of the East Coast beaches.😂

Great video Russ. You had a better , closer view of the action than most.
Thanks for spending the time there.
Speaking of wildflowers, Tuesday we drove from Lake Havasu City to Quartzsite, the flora was on display along 95 between Parker and Quartzsite.

You've got more patience than I do. When I see a line like that it's usually bye-bye 🙂Kudos for the coverage!!
Thanks for sharing.
Hopefully will be there in a few weeks!
Thanks for scratching that event off my list of things to do
We have a Hurricane (Hurri-can), WV too!

Got some beautiful weather here in quartzite
Matt's channel is great along with Roy from TrailMater.
Russ how did you handle all the people? To much for a old man like me. You have to really, really, really, love that stuff!
We had a hard time saying (her-con) we've been in southern utah for about 10 years.
Thanks Bob the welder and wife
Great coverage Russ! I'm not sure I would have waited in those long lines. Thanks, Happy Trails. Dave ,from northern Virginia
2.5 hours, more patience than me Russ. Wonder how the people Hurricane pronounce sugarcane. Great vid. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍

To each his own. Interesting, but no way would I put upwith such long lines for such a thing.
I caught another fan video, and if the fans have anything to say about it, there will be another one next year. The crowd went wild when Matt asked if they wanted to do it again.
interesting
You definitely might like to check out Robby Layton's channel as well as Matts Off-Road Recovery channel here on RUclips. There's some good stories behind all this. First year event, all things considered, I'd say it seems they did okay.
Also check out Paul Cox's "Fab Rats".
Robby Layton is a big child a big pain . Can not stand his channel.
Take the E off Hurricane, then it’s pronounced properly. Love your videos
Thank you for waiting, so we don't have to.
Oh man, Russ.. this event seems like a wreck … dang
I don't think they expected so many people. I didn't go this time mainly because I figured that would happen. I don't need to be hiking around the rocks.

Better you than me. I'm glad I didn't wait 3 hours and pay $ for the "Event". BTW, Is it legal to visit Utah without facial hair?
It’s spelled “creek”, but it’s crick!!!😊
The town was named by immigrants from Liverpool, hence the pronunciation.
You should have brought the dusty nugget
Like Prescott pronounced presskit.
😂😂 Just wait until you find out how the locals pronounce "Escalante"😂😂😂
*desert bloom maybe?
Like watching paint dry
Would you go back again. .?
The locals pronunciation is a British pronunciation, so it is not necessarily "wrong", just British. Why? I have no idea.
I don’t know… Waiting 2 1/2 hours just to watch a tow truck tow a jeep through sand would not be worth it to me. I can see that for free on any of the East Coast beaches.😂
Potato potouto. Prescott or Preskitt. But don’t pronounce Nevada wrong. Lol
They can't MAKE you pronounce "hurricane" incorrectly!
Ask a Mormon about the mountain meadows massacre.
all national parks are run and owned by the UN. they used to have it on signs by the park but ppl complained, so they took them down
