My 1975 rem 1100 is chambered for 3” magnum and 2 3/4”. Was a 16th bday present from my mom. It’s a workhorse and still pristine other than a few scratches here or there. I’ve taken hundreds of geese and ducks over the years. I wouldn’t give it up for the world.

Thanks you! The 1100 is a fantastic shotgun and the V3 is top notch in my book. The action and gas system are perfect. The gas system is like the Benelli M4 ARGO system. It just works!

I've got two old school 1100's and both are original parts and are near mint condition but only one aftermarket part on each and that's the Carlson's mag extension tube giving me a total of 11 shots from both for I believe in firepower !!!

Oh yeah! I only have one shotgun that I kept factory. A 1988 11-87. Because it is Mint and has a competition carrier in it. Guns nowhere near as nice as it sell for $1500 and more. Mine has 25-50 rounds shot through it. That’s all. And I don’t hunt with it as I have others to use. But I take it out every now and then and shoot 5 rounds. Then I clean it again! 🤣. It’s so pretty 🤩

I love my 1100, always wanted one, took forever to get it. Sold an old car, found one at my lgs, 3 barrels and the gun for $850, and it shoots great, shoot near perfect with trap, took a turkey and plenty of chukars and a pheasant with it. Won't trade it for the world. I just don't like the barrel and receiver finish, way too scratch prone, and it looks ugly with all the scratches. They should have blued them all. The wood is great. I'll have to have it blued. Also, the engraving looks kind of funny too. But the finish and engraving I know aren't perfect on the standard field. And easy to fix, but the question is, how cheap?

The last quote I got on a complete blueing job was 400. That was in 2021. And that was me disassembling it completely and giving it a good cleaning before taking the it to him. Cerakoting it was only gonna be 100. He really didn’t want to do it. 1100s are really great guns but the V3 has way better recoil control, no O-rings to deal with and much easier loading. Only drawback is it only holds 3 rounds in the mag tube. Shop around on the blueing and get someone with good reviews. It’s a lot of work prepping the metal and a lengthy process, so honestly $400 was not a bad price. Thanks for watching!!

My rem v3 mag cap came loose had to put plumbers tape on threads to keep it from coming off in the fields other than that not bad going on 4-5 years with it

That’s wild. You’d think all those little ribs on the mag cap would work. It’s hard for mine to come off.

I’ve been shooting 1100s and 1187s since the 80s and to be honest, I’m over them. Parts are really hard to find now days and the loading system just sucks. The V3 handles recoil way better and loading is a breeze. Plus it’s lighter. There is nostalgia with the old guns but that’s about all there is for me now. I have sold all of my older guns and now I have 2 V3s and couldn’t be happier with how they shoot. But I get it. Anyway, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

      Hello
1100 are still built from remington.
      Why you can't find parts?

The 1100 bolt release never bothered me or effected me the still make em for a reason

They work fine. I just like the oversized ones. But I think I’ll keep this 1100 stock. I found a metal mag follower to replace the plastic one. I have a new bolt buffer coming too. That’s probably all I’ll do other than the English stock I just put on it. Will be uploading another video today on these two shooting clays.

I have friends who love the 1100 bottom bolt release too. I guess it's just a personal preference. I always say, if you like it, Shoot That Thang!

      * I agree, nothing like getting a finger nipped by the bolt. I think that is why they put the release on the bottom.
