    love my V3 I bought it as my first semiauto and it is the first 12 gauge I have shot. I started out shooting shotguns late (20). I started skeet shooting with a 20 gauge mossberg 500 I bought. After shooting skeet about 2 months I bought a used walnut v3 and I absolutely love it. I don't have any issues with the gas system. I love how fast it is and the minimal amount of felt recoil. It recoils way less than my 20 gauge.

    Had mine three years. Never cleaned it. Worked fine. Couple thousands rounds. Was filthy when I got around to it but was still working. Great gun. The piston above the hands kinda keep the gun swinging no matter how bad ya try and stop. Hit with it better than anything else I've tried and I've tried hundreds of guns.

    Those vents are on top are the gas operating system. One thing i love my gun. Inhave the camo and when i shoot mine i barely tell im shooting. The gas operating system is amazing.

    Great gun. To fix the lifter from catching your thumb nail, remove the trigger group and take a file and some fine sand paper and smooth off the tip of the lifter. I did mine and it loads as easy as my old 870. Take a bluing pen and touch it up. Good as new. Hasn’t pinched me since then. The stuff blowing out on first shots is residue in the gas system. I took mine apart brand new before first shots and there was a bunch of junk in the two gas tubes. Kinda looked like the paint they used on the barrel. Probably was. But it cleaned right out. I did find a mint condition 1187 Premier that I don’t believe was ever shot outside the factory. Still had little styrofoam balls in it from the original packaging. No wear marks inside either. I just hate loading them because of the release tab on the lifter. I’ve shot 1100s and 1187s since the 80s so the V3 is by far superior in my book. I have two V3s. LOL. I have the one you show here and a 26” barrel in Camo that I found used. I put wood furniture on it. The gas system is the same as Benelli uses on their M4. But they call it the ARGO system.

    Much respect coming from Irmo, SC, by way of my humble country roots of Chesterfield County. My dad has a V3, and he loves it like Peter loved the Lord. I need a 12 gauge badly and this will be my next firearm purchase. Thanks for helping in my research process with the informative and honest review. It was nice to hear your low country draw and see you enjoying some shooting. Keep on brotha!

      Venture Designs Yeah I’m the same way. I killed Lord knows how many deer as a kid with 2/34 in 20 gauge #00 buckshot. I know down here in Alabama the only time a 3.5 in are used is turkey hunting. I bought a box of high dollar TSS or whatever there called 3.5 in turkey shot. Shot it one time to pattern it bout kicked my teeth out. The rest of the box is still in my toolbox.

    Get the V3 Waterfowl model. They alter the loading port to make it easier to load your shells.

  • @seaskiff20
    @seaskiff20 3 года назад +1

    The “cutoff” switch underneath is to allow the shooter to clear the loaded round without feeding another from the mag. Great if you need to switch to a different load ASAP.

    That is self-cleaning residue of the carbon off the gas driven action. Two small ports up by the barrel allow it to escape out of the top.

    I have 2 Remington 1100 one with an L receiver number made in 70 another one made in 1980 with an N number I bought a Remington V3 about a year-and-a-half ago he was made in 2017 the last of the production of them before they went out of business I agree with all the pros but I would like to add one I love the interchangeable chokes I wish my 11:00 had the barrel for that they don't make any of that stuff no more I originally got the V3 for my oldest son we love to shoot skeet and it has the same problem when you go to load a shell in it with your thumb I love my Remington shotguns I hope they will continue to make these guns they are awesome

    Love my V3, had it for almost 3 years. Never got gas blast in the face, I've heard some say they had trouble that, but I never experienced that. It's well balanced, great trigger, very light recoil, and it's super reliable. I've gotta ton of rounds through mine, never let me down. My thumb doesn't seem to get pinched either. I got big paws , maybe that helps?

    I got a 1187 a couple months ago and have had old ones and this new one preforms just as well in my opinion. Have one that is 20 years old and have the new one and they both cycle everything you put in them and shoot like a dream. You should pick up a new 1187 for sure I can vouch that the new ones are still good.

I bet that gun will stay in your collection for awhile, i have only had my versa max for a little while and the first time i took it to shoot was in below freezing weather and snowing and it ran like a dream and the gun shot straight and i limited out on pheasants and chuker. I cant wait to take it dove and squirrel hunting.

      Bradley Parker LOL. Maybe a 1980s WingMaster, but there are TONs of crappy Remington guns out there that will let you down on a daily basis until you fix them. 1187s and the newer 870 magnums are the most frequent culprits. Again, easy to fix, but why is it that they need fixing out the box, brand new?
