I absolutely love Mcintosh based on their quality, serviceability, customer service, availability of parts, etc. not to mention, they sound and look stunning. And the icing on the cake is that they do not depreciate. thank you very much !
Thank you, thank you thank you so much! I would really appreciate it if you could please subscribe because it would really help. Once again, thank you thank you thank you so much!🙂🙏💥💥💥
Hello teammate and thank you very much! It could be a semiconductor in between the input and the output. Sometimes parts stop working. Sometimes there is something wrong with the power supply or a voltage regulator goes bad. I could speculate endlessly without having the unit to check physically. But what I would do if I had the unit would be too measure the voltages inside and if the voltages are OK I would feed a signal to the unit and follow it along the circuitboard.
I have a Marantz SR5600 amp and when I push the power button, it keeps clicking. Sometimes the amp plays good for a few weeks and then music stops... "click, click, click, click etc etc...." I thought relay, but now I guess it is a bad cap?? Amp is from 2008... Can't be relay right?
I use the same wide cutters. Your desoldering is Pace? I use Hakko desolderings. I fix audio gear in my house, I saw your Mcintosh amplifier, I am the Mcintosh technician here in my country. Nice job. Best Regards.
Hello Teammate! My desoldering device is also a Hakko and I love it! It can be completely taken apart to the last bolt and any part replaced. The parts are available also. I should not have to purchased another one for the rest of my life. thank you, thank you thank you so much!🙂🙏
Nice repair, but that burnt part looks really bad, next time drill or grind that part out and if needed, you can fix the PCB with 2 part epoxy. Burnt resin has a really low resistance, between the legs of the transistor that part is under 2kohms.
Hello Teammate, and thank you very much! I really appreciate it and will definitely keep that in mind. I scraped off the burned parts of the PCB with a dental tool and I explained in the video that I was doing it, because it becomes conductive. Maybe I accidentally edited that part out of the video. I can’t really remember now because it was actually four hours of video that I edited down to 10 minutes. 🙂🙏
These are electrolytic capacitors with a certain lifespan based on voltage temperature, and hours so I recommend you purchase them new from DigiKey or Mauser. The large thyroidal transformer can be expensive so I would scavenge it from a parts unit on eBay. Good luck and thank you very much!
@@Tinybench I didn’t think I’d get a reply. Yea you are right. Salvage is way cheaper. I’ve orders from mouser but never digikey. I ll give them a try. Thanks for the upload.
I have SONY p99x with built in equalizer. When I turn on my unit, it first makes a click sound when power button is pressed, then it makes a second click sound after 1 or 2 seconds. Today it did not make a second click and is not producing any sound. Interestingly, Its turning on, all the lights and buttons are normally functioning. Equalizer lights are moving up and down with music BUT no sound. I noticed that when it makes the second click, sound is produced, when no 2nd click, no sound. What can be the fault? What is producing that 2nd click, capacitor, relay or else?
Hello and thank you very much for watching my video. The problem is that your speaker relay is not coming on. The amplifier seems to be producing sound, but it is not getting to the speakers. The speakers relay connects the amplifier to the speakers after the amp turn on with no issues such as DC voltage at the output or short circuits. The fact that it is producing sound, inclined me to believe that the speakers relay is stuck and just needs to be cleaned and lubricated. It could also be a bad capacitor around the speaker relay circuit or some other issue. It’s hard to say without the unit in person.
@@Tinybench Thank you for your reply. Is there any way to connect Amp. to my lap top and diagnose issue using any software? using any special cable like USB to RC cable or else.
You are amazing,Joche. I don’t know how you have so much patience. I’m sure the owner is thrilled with his “new” amp.
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much Andy!

Sir, I notice you have a Mcintosh amplifier on your sideboard, you obviously appreciate quality. Also, a great repair😊!

Hey that's nice work, but I have a question my NAD 218 thx is not producing signal when I turn it on, what can be the problem

Great Work! And i can not repair a soft start problem at my "easy" NAD 315 BEE- took 2min. to start ...
Hello Teammate!
Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
have you done any trouble shooting at all?

I’d like to find some capacitors that size, and a nice big toroidal transformer to pair them with.

@@bobwa399You would not be able to troubleshoot the unit that way.
