Im 55 and when I was a little boy my mother had one that looked like a old time handheld cassette recorder like offices used and it played mini lps. It was from the late 60s

The record was not pressed on centre, no wonder the sound had so much wow to it.

Thanks for sharing. The last record store I visited on RSD at about 8pm...had a stack of those things left. Complete novelty! I wouldn’t buy it even if I had money to waste.
Opening that reminded me of a book I bought from Third Man Records called "The Blue Series" and it had a 7 inch single that came with it, but it was on the back page of the book and you had to rip it open to get to the record. They had to know that collector's wouldn't want to tear the back cover open, so either they are evil and forcing you to make a choice to keep it pristine and not open it or rip it open to listen to the single. I'm sure some true collector's bought two copies so that they could listen to the single and still have an undamaged copy. They did include a download code for additional songs.
The inchaphone the White Stripes had sounded better than that, though in mono. It would be cool if someone (besides Crosley) would make a 45 only mini-turntable.

and it will play the 3" as well. Too bad the price seems to have gone up since. At $30 I might have been tempted. No way I am paying $70+ for that Crosley that can only plays 3"
LOL...We are coming back to the 60's ! I have the entire "Hip-Pocket" collection, they were called.. You got a free record, ( or maybe 2, if you were nice) at the FORD dealers, when you went to look, and take Test Drives of the new Fords.. They gave you the info, and you could send away, for the little Philco record player, which was a little bigger than this version..I have three different models..But I will HAVE to get this for sure ! Seems to be the correct speed, to
play my little 3" collection ! It would look cool, to plug into one of my Technics 1200GLD 's ..

The wow and flutter is probably the result of the record itself being pressed off center. Since it is a "45," I wonder if you could get improved results by removing the 45 adapter and centering it yourself.

I wish RSD put their efforts into other stuff like cassettes or more 45s instead of wasting time on these. They’re still making 3” records as of November 2022

They should make these in 7” size With RCA outputs and power cord. Same design but larger scale. That would be more practical! 3” records are a rip off at $30-$50 🤣

What tracking weight does that thing run at!? You could see it carving its way through the groove as soon as the stylus was put down. What a huge pile of crap.

Wow. It's cute, I'll give it that. I was kinda hoping it would play real records and not just some little tiny 3 inch single-sided singles. There is a lot of wow and flutter. What a waste of a good cartridge too! Crosley cruisers don't even come with that good of a cartridge.

Crosley actually makes some great products these days including the c6, c8, c100, etc. in fact they use the same supplier as Audio Technica.
I have one and I love it. I just need more records for it. The Foo Fighters record is a bad recording. Other records are much better.

This thing isn't even worth $70, let alone the $160 ebay scalpers are trying to charge for it.
I was picking up the arm because if you play to much of a song youtube will mute the volume for copyright infringement. I clearly say in the video its a novelty item and not a piece of HiFi year. I would assume people buying a tiny plastic turntable would know that so If someone wants to buy it who cares its there money.
@@TheInGroove Judging by ebay, most of them have ended up on the resale market anyway. Thing is worth about $30 at best. It's complete garbage, like most other Crosley products.
@@TheInGroove I say that's the first i have seen a tiny record player, be a cool novelty doesn't matter who made it it's the size and how they shrunk down the technology to make some thing that small, wonder though how many records were made for these, but either way it's a good conversation piece . if i could find one i would buy one , as people would be amazed that small records and players do exist.
@@Gamemaster365-6 thereafter like 3 at local record shop that have been there since they came out. They are neat. I like them for the novelty and being able to get a small record for 6 bucks would be cool instead of having to drop 25+ for a full size album is kind of cool.

Hey Mike, owner of Groove records. I bought one of those mini record players this past weekend Saturday 11/30. Mine was pre opened and is missing the Foo Fighters mini record.
The new units don't come with the Foo Fighters single. Only the 2019 RSD model did. They were also $20 more.
The 'In' Groove I don’t know if mine is new or old unit. But it’s components weren’t in their place. The twist ties were not in place. That’s what gave away the fact that mine has been pre opened. And about the missing Little record, why would the styrofoam packaging have the cut out square for a record, if you’re telling me it doesn’t come with one.
@@val13c59 the new units don't come with the Foo Fighters record. Why would they change the packaging because of one record? I was sent a replacement unit last week, and yes, it still had the mold for a record, but I wasn't expecting the record in there because it didn’t include the "Foo Fighters Big Me 3" record enclosed" sticker. The RSD release for the RSD3 turntable was limited to 5k for the Foo Fighters single, 4k of it was included inside the RSD3 box, and 1k sold separately.
NBALiveGirl ok fine, but my first argument was that it has been preopend. Do to the fact that the twist ties weren’t in place, and plastic had been removed. I’m not concerned about the FooFighters record. I just thought I ask anyways. I don’t even like the foo fighters. I payed extra to have the 4 Epitaph mini record package.
VAL13C oh okay, i just wanted to let you know why the record isn’t there in the first place..but i’m just hoping for more diverse 3” releases next year.

Devalues the Technics 1200 when he sets it atop it's platter. The rubber mat on the 1200 weighs more than the Crosley.

It would probably also play the Pocketdisc flexi's from the '60's if any one has any of those like I do.

The Crosley 3" table has the best siblance, wow and flutter money can buy! I can't wait to get the colored vinyl and picture disks on Black Friday! Maybe they will re-release Pink Floyd's biggest hits on a $600 box of tiny lo-fi records. 1000 numbered copies!
