  • In this cartoon effect Photoshop tutorial, You'll learn how to turn your photo into a cartoon effect in Photoshop with an oil painting effect!

      @@Pixivu The only issue I have is the Face-Aware Liquify, it does not detect my face and I do not know why. I have Photoshop 2020
      **EDIT:** Figured out how to fix! Edit > Preference > Performance > Use Graphics Processor

    One thing to keep in mind to use all this effects is that your image must be in high quality and you don't need to apply all effects with the same values shown in the video, you'll need to see how your photos look like along the way

    If I save the final edited file as PSD FILE can I open it later on whenever I want to edit any other image and do the same final step and get the same results? Would it be like applying a one click preset on it? Thank you so much for your amazing tutorial!

    Great tutorial my image turned out great. However when I added I embedded the new image in the end and click back on the new file the original image did not update to the new image. Do you know why? I did save .

    Tried this on a photo of my cat. It worked well, but I discovered that face recognition in liquify only works on people. Fun tutorial.

    which version is used???? in my cs6 there is no option other than mesh in liquify option....how can I solve that?

    Would this work with PhotoShop Elements as well? Trying to decide between the month cost of PhotoShop CC and the one time (cheaper in the long run) PhotoShop Elements software, but I'd like to be able to do what you do in this video.

    My cartoon came out great with one minor flaw...in the finished image I had some vertical striping scattered throughout the image. What do you think causes that?

    Great Tutorial ... but my CS5 looks nothing like what you are demonstrating. Cant Liquify on Smart object.... nor does the Liquify options look like yours. What version of Photoshop are you demonstrating on ?

    I get an error message 'Can't save this document back to its original format . Flatten layers and discard extra data as necessary then choose File> Save again' at the final stage when clicking on CTRL+S to update the effect. The file I am attempting to embed is a jpg and I have tried embedding a psd file with the same results. I've also tried converting the embedded file to a smart object. I'm using Photoshop 2020. Do you have any idea why I can't update the effect?

    I followed all steps but when I import a new image inside the smart object and press CTRL+S for update the effect, the green progress bar doesn't appears and my photoshop 2021 does not permit me to save the smart file with formats *.PSD, *.PDD, *.PSDT because there are not in the formats options(!?) Please help!

    I tried the one-click, but when I double click on the smart icon image it opens the Layer Style window to adjust the styles; and the Blending Options, any help, please.

    If I use the single-click saved file to cartoonize another photo with 1 head, it works fine. But... if I place a photo with 2 or more heads, only one head is cartoonized. Is there a simple adjustment to fix this? (other than remaking everything from scratch)

      It's probably the liquify setting that is only detecting 1 face. Manually adjust it or delete and redo that filter selecting both faces like in the first part of this tutorial.
