The pot lights installed are 3 inch potlights. You can buy them on Amazon on the links posted above
If you are installing pot lights and there is an attic above, then you will need to install insulation covers in the attic which keep the insulation off the pot lights, and provides a vapour seal. They are fireproof rated, and are also for non-insulated rated pot lights.
The potlights come with halogen lights. We’ll be replacing them with LED lights. They don’t get hot, and they save you energy while lasting up to 22 years.
Our Pot Light hole cutter is adjustable, the pot lights we are installing are 3 inches.
Once you have all your holes cut out for your pot lights, you will need to drill through the beams to pass your wires through.

I love this lady so much. She's so nice! Very great smile and attitude as well.
Great vid!
Never seen someone install pot lights in an evening gown, but you looked gorgeous while doing your install!
Thanks for the vid
I am bloody amazed you did all that with so much elegance, you made it look super easy!!!
You're supposed to use NM (romex) connectors with the can light junction boxes. That's a code violation as the sharp edge could potentially damage the sheathing. Also drilling blindly is a bad idea. I know a few electricians that found this out the hard way.
this is the most complete video on adding additional lights. it covers all of the case that I met. and I am blocked on drilling holes on the beams. I will regard this lady as Goddess of Home Improvement.
Thanks so much for doing this video and adding the links to the tools used! My wife has been dying for pocket lights and I think I have the confidence to get it done for her! Thanks a million!
I'm watching and I have no intention of installing downlights.
Adam182 you are a true gangster sir
lol
😂
Adam182 I’m an electrician myself and have no idea why am I watching this video.
Seeing as she dressed "special" for this video, is it any wonder?
Wait what were we installing again?
Great video. Note to everyone "Where and how to drill joists for electrical cables or plumbing runs depends on what type of floor framing you have. Keep the hole at least 2 in. from the top and the bottom if it’s a dimensional lumber joist. The hole cannot be larger than one-third the depth of the joist, so the maximum hole size for a 2×12 joist (actual size 1-1/2 x 11-1/4 in.) is 3-3/4 in. diameter-plenty big enough for running cable! You can drill the holes anywhere along the length of the joist."

HomeAutomationX HomeAutomationX What if this project was for an finish attic apartment. The sealing has insulation above but it's the pink wrap insulation. Do I still need those insulation covers??
My sealings are finished. How would I got about installing those covers without tearing up huge holes on the sealling??
great video but how did you hook up to the first light to old light and how did you cover up old light Sandy
Nice figure, tough lady
Thank you. Very helpful.
“You’re all dressed up, night on the town?” “Oh no I’m just installing some recessed lights”
I was thinking the same thing 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I really like the camera idea to see where the wires need to go. Thanks for a professionally made, informative video!
Both your install technics, and the hardware you use, are better than in most videos that I've seen. Thanks. (Thumbs up!)
I like this video. This is very helpful for DIY homeowners. I appreciate in making this video. I thought the installation process is very intimidating but it looks like very simple, intermediate and straight forward and once you're able to locate the studs and drill the hole. You just have to run a wire in series connection. It save a lot of money rather than hiring a professional electrician to install for you. I can allocate the saving to buy the materials needed. Also, the insulation tip is a plus. Thank you very much. The only steps that I didn't see is the switch installation in putting the dimmer. Other than that, it's a superb video. More power!
There any liability for installing the spot lights yourself? For example if you'd sell your home and then the house has a fire, would you seller be liable for not disclosing the pot lights were installed by yourself vs an electrician?
the most thorough explanation I've seen after looking for an hour. Great job!
If I could give two thumbs up, I would have given you. One for a nice job and the other for an amazing smile.
Thanks for the comment, and have a nice day!
I've done a little bit of electric work, and went took a carpentry class in highschool where we built a house from foundation on up. with that being said, I'm impressed. usually I find something to complain about in diy videos, but you guys did everything by code.
Like you know the code lol. Please
I just found my new favorite channel. I need videos of anything and everything. Millions of videos from you. Please and thank you
A helpful smoke show, amazing! Also probably one of the best diy pot light installs I've seen.
At about 2:00 ...I like the part of the video where she 💅 is drilling the hole. her hand turned into a man hand ✋ all the sudden 😱 🤣🤣 If he is going to be her stand in hand. He needs to get fake nails and polish!
rofl lmao!!!!! omg so true
That's fucking hilarious. I didn't even notice that.
James Wadsworth LOL and no nail painting ...
James Wadsworth no nail polish was the first thing I noticed lol.
James Wadsworth.... 😂😂😂😂
i am impressed how good you are! There are many men do not have half of your skill. I will hire you to do my lights in a heart beat. Keep up the good works.
Love that you list your tools and products on the description. I actually need the USB Endoscope Snake Camera for my project.
Thanks for the comment. Good to hear people find the links useful
You must use a Romex connector when the wire passes through the 1/2" knock out hole. It will prevent the metal from cutting through the insulation.
I was attracted by the thumb nail, but it was actually the best instruction I've seen in RUclips. I understand all the dirty comments below, but nevertheless, really good instruction. thanks.
The way she handled that big black rod was impressive
Great video. Never would have thought of the flexible pole to find adjacent studs. You have really nice tips. I just couldn't imagine what the 4 ft extension is you used on the drill. So glad to see you're a brunette again!
Other can light DIY install videos, the dudes do not have to drill thru joists. This video is the real deal- you're the man!!
*woman
@@choahjinhuay Lol @ internet and wokeness
I will probably call electrician to do the job but its good to know the right way of doing it. Video covered all aspects of this activity and was very useful. Kind of awareness you need before starting the project.
Very nice video. Really excellent job. Great camera work, great ideas for the home, and she's got really great tips. Please keep her in your videos!
Beautiful… I can watch your video all day..
Great tutorial! You've given me the confidence to tell my husband what to do! haha, it's a great video :)
"We can simply run a cable attached to the camera, and feed it through." I wonder how many DIYers have an endoscope amongst their arsenal of Mastercraft and Power Fist tools haha.
2 meter endoscope camera/cable is only few dollars on ebay. I have couple of those and you can hook them up to your android phone using usb otg adapter instead of laptop. Really handy for so many things!
springer 11724 You’re right. A year ago when I wrote that I had been checking them out on amazon and there were many options for less than $100. I’m aware of their value, I’ve used one on nearly every home I’ve worked in to locate electrical or plumbing and even just to determine joist directions. Nowadays, being that they’re so affordable, while still performing very well, a smartphone endoscope and one of those distance measuring lasers are great to have when gathering data on an estimate walk through. Anyways springer 11724, I’m lookin for a fuck or a fight, and I don’t see your sister around.
She is beautiful and makes everything seems so easy!
Such a friendly video. I love the way you smile as you talk. Good Video! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for the video! I'm showing my grand daughters this and telling them where I want the pot lights :)
your credibility just went up 100% with me great video did not know you had that kind of knowledge you had it in you
The truth is, it is clear yall did edits so the video flowed and was smooth. Many others will just let it run with them studdering and dropping stuff. Very good video!
The best demonstration I've seen, not sure of what, but it was good.
we all know why we are here ;)
What? I am no simp. Their videos are super boring.
🤫 my wife is next to me.
You need help
We do? 🧐
I mean, we do 😈😁
Fk, beaten to the comment again!
Thank you for making and posting this vid. I learned how to drill cross beams to pass the wires through.
No lie, this helped a ton.
I just discovered your channel and subscribed today, so it seems slightly early in our relationship for me to propose. I'll play coy and just continue watching your projects
You are one lucky electrician. I wouldn’t ever get out of bed if I had one of those.
Best electrician in the world 😉
I am in love... With this lighting upgrade!
Respectfully, not only beautiful, but great tops, very helpful, & very well done!
Yes... Pot lights... I'm definitely here to look at... how to put in pot lights
Thanks for the video. Installed these
throughout my basement. Much better now :-)
The hair has changed again 😋. Another great video and my favourite RUclips channel at the moment 👍
nice drilling .
This is weird, just found this channel, 5 minutes into the video and I think i love her ...
Great Video!
Thanks for the clear concise presentation.
The hand double needs to paint their nails to match the master shot. I'm a video guy so I notice everything.
I like the LED swap, I only have one incandescent light left in the house and that's 22 years old... just seeing how long it will last.
I have vaulted ceilings so I might have to go with track light because there is very little room between the ceiling and the roof.
Can you estimate how tall the can and wire protector is when installed?
Drilling blindly into a ceiling with the electric on , Isn`t a good idea .......
Very stupid using the long flex bits. Can you imagine hitting a water line or service cable.,thanks but no thanks
I wanted it to stop!
I don't care about the light but can't stop watching😁
I want to be like you when I grow up! 💪💪
Okay I'll bite (and suck too!) but how do you ensure you're not drilling blindly through the joist and hitting an electrical wire or water pipe on the other side? Not sure relying on the stud sensor to detect metal/electricity gives me a level of confidence. Hit a water pipe and in the 2 minutes it takes to shut off the main valve you've ruined your ceiling.
lol. she didn't reply cause you're a creep. keep sucking,
whatever, beautiful face with smile, awesome video. never stop seeing this video again and again.
I totally subscribed. Working with her would be like floating on a cloud.
I would recommend after drilling the holes use the bit to pull the wires
Everyone with these wierdo comments like they've never seen an attractive woman before. I must say I got a lot of respect for her and her knowledge. There are many ways to get a job done efficiently and safe. Just because your way is different than hers does not mean she is wrong. The point is to people who know how to do these jobs is to learn. Don't be a shallow, sexist, Mr know it all.
Great idea when using the hole saw, no dirty mess on that dress
Thanks RUclips recommendation algorithm for this video, I dont even have a house or intentions to install lights and I watched the entire video :D
Basic electricity with your host, Nancy Botwin of Agrestic, CA. I'm guessing Doug filmed you. 😉
Okay, seriously, well done project. Very smartly done! Thank you!
Sarah Michelle she just needed a iced coffee
Good information. I'm glad you covered the vapor barrier too! Not many people do. One criticism though, if our prof ever caught us wearing a metal ring while working with wires, we would have to go and sit in the cafeteria and think about why it's a bad idea to have metal jewelery when working with power... So good video but lose the jewelery (even if you think the wires are not live)! ;)
🤩 Beautiful presenter like on TV.
windsor, ON here. 6 pack of potlights is over 100$ Inflation since 2017 is killer.
I know most people are not paying attention but when putting a wire into a junction or termination box, you must put a cable clamp in the box and run the wire through it and tighten it down. This will protect the cable from the sharp edge of the hole in the box and stabilize the cable. Just saying!
Great video. Thank you and greetings from Portugal.
Superb.. i like your way of presenting, keep it up God bless you 👌👍
You are seriously a lady of many talents. You dress for the opera but do handy (person) jobs and u have the nicest smile. See we notice other things too. Good luck with ur channel 👸🎥👍🌹
I need more in depth view of the instal please show more thanks!
What happened to the nail polish at 2:02 ? Anyways blue looks great on you! You smile and give good advice for the most part. Be careful sometimes you might have plumbing pipes on first floor ceilings and or air conditioning ducts. Drilling across beams should be done with caution. Also don’t forget to put some grommets on the romex coming into your metal boxes. Don’t want the metal to rip the sheathing and wire insulation, it could short the connection.
Awesome video - could you please let me know what flex cable bit extension you used to drill through the joists, thanks!
I have all the tools in the description, but here they are too.

Your pots light video is splendid, and you too.
Thank you for your very informational video. Having a very lovely lady doing it was the cherry on top.
One word: perfection ❤️❤️
Great video (visually anyway) My only concern with all these video's is that I do not see any calculations for drilling through the joists - (how far from the wall, max hole size etc.). The wrong spot will weaken the strength of the joist.
Adire your skilss and your calm informative break down of how to do it.
I don't even know what the video is about but i'm sure i'll benefit in some way.
I never knew installing pot lights could be this much fun. Thank you for your instructive video.
I need a shower
very awesome video man I feel smarter for watching!! keep them comming!!😎😎
speaking of cans, great video!
Very good 👍
Idk about her voice, but I really like her cans!
Beautiful model 😍
Smart and cute, right to the point. Very helpful
Maam, you are attractive! And this video is very informative!
She gets even more bad ass with every video she does.
Still not confident if I can install lights by myself, but it seems easyish from video. Good stuff thanks!
All I heard was drill, screw, push it through the holes, strip, turn it on.
You make it look so easy
Thats probably because it is easy🤔
Any recommendation on the camera used to fish the wire through the beams? I've been considering getting one and see a wide variety of price points. Seems like a really useful tool for adding wiring in finished walls.
This is what I bought on Amazon and I have no issues with it.

Thank you so much .you are wonderful
You did that in high heels and a dress! Go girl! I am considering doing this myself since my electrician cancelled on me. You are giving me confidence, cuz you made the job look so simple. Just a few questions - what is that plastic piece around the drill called? That's a total Godsend for the obsessive cleaner in me. Also, how did you connect this to the light switch? That's what I am stumped on. Thanks!
All the tools used are in the description including the plastic piece. We started our connection from an existing light in the ceiling
Wow! Thanks so much. I'm making a visit to Home Depot tonight. You Rock!
