Loved this song at the local pool back in the day. Miss the 90's real bad.
Last original generation
I think the ‘90s was the best decade to be a teenager. Movies, music, just general atmosphere... everything was perfect. So glad I got to experience that.
The 90s was the best generation
I don't think people realize how good 311 actually is. The album LIVE is a masterpiece
@@gonoannowhere my shit hasn't been solid since I turned 35
Saw them on tour with Offspring in 2019 and they were great! Every song was a banger.
Transistor, Mosaic and Stereolithic simply the best 3 for me
They're great but it's not for everyone
They have a lot of range of styles, Sexton (drummer) and Mahoney (guitar) are among the best at what they do. Like Wes borlin from limp bikit, just phenomenal skill
311 has been my favorite band for around 25 years. Their singles are good, but you need to do some deep diving into their catalog to really see how awesome they are.
Deep cuts is where it's at!
Me too and I'm old. Fell in love with the music listening to Down and All Mixed Up. Been to many shows in various cities always dragging my son along so I didn't feel too weird. Love when they did drum soloing to Applied Science. I even got passed the herb at one concert.
B sides are definitely their best work
311 is a hard band to miss if you had any contact with the 90s or early 2000s. This song was everywhere, like to the point I got sick of it. It's nice hearing it now though.
Born in 1984 too and I will never get sick of this song bc I listened and still listen to all the great music from that beautiful decade of originality. If you listen to anything from the past 10 years (excluding death metal), and like it then you suck.
SA, who's the rapping vocalist, is super nice. My previous band recorded at his studio in Ojai. He came down from the main house, and brought us a gift basket. We were recording there about a week, and found out he would come down at night sometimes, and listen through our tracks with the engineer (he was not at all involved, nor getting paid, other than our payment for use of the studio). He even came down for the last day of tracking, and gave us his notes as to what he thought we might touch up. Definitely a cool guy.
Aren’t they from Omaha?
@@savsmiles3042 Yes. Most of them have moved over the years.
Great insight! Thank you!
That’s rad. Thanks for sharing!
SO JELLY!!!
Brad is right this song dope as F^@K , fact that it heavy as F^@K and Brad likes it makes me happy AF!!!!!
@the dude ~ Duuuuuuude you’re dead on 🙌🏼
Last summer I went deep into 311 on Spotify and discovered that a REALLY LIKE a lot of their stuff. Perfect music for pool or beach party.
They have a lot of good non rap songs like Beautiful Disaster and Amber that Lex would like
I second both of those recommendations!
Do You Right is a good one as well
@@Will_Wel I third it!
I love Beautiful Disaster. Great song.
Champagne, Lose, 8:16am
Listen to the entire 311 ‘grassroots’ album. You’ll be a fan.
I’ll haft to change that to 99 sound system album lol. That’s what got me. But down years earlier got me familiar
Love that album. I probably haven't listened to that in 20 years though
Grassroots is a perfect album. "Shit like that now scares me but I'd like to do it again"
I had this album, GrassRoots, and Music. I couldn't get into any others I heard.
@@djC653 agreed
Oh I love the roll reversal on this one! Come on lex I'm a total metalhead but 311 is dope maybe try Amber if you don't like rap rock style :))
I had no idea Amber was about Nicole Scherzinger. Yes this metal/grunge guy ended up buying "Transistor" as well.
@@bothellkenmore Id write a song about her too lol
@@sepulfan02 1st time I heard that song I thought whoever Amber is and her colorful energy, she must be amazing!
I am with ya Will.I never liked Rap, But 311 had a big fat guitar sound and some powerful leads.I am surprised Lex did not like it, she seems to like the things not present in her youth...not a lot of Southern Rock on the airwaves in Los Angeles in the 2010s She also seems to like 80s Metal
I second this!!!!!
Brads feelin' it. 311 has some good joints. Good times music.
I agree with Brad. Lex, we've got to expand your horizons here. Love me some 311! #90s #myyouth!
Just saw this band in concert a month ago. Had never listened to it before
Did you enjoy the show?
Living in So Cal... Them and Sublime is a "Vibe" That's the kind of music we liked. Go surf, boat, riding in the desert or snowboard.
Yep 💯
It’s interesting listening to people react to music they didn’t grow up with. This is real music! They have their own sound; not sounding like everyone else. They are very versatile
These guys are still kicking ass with a Huge Loyal Following, same lineup, mixing all the best genres, and killing it live! Just saw em a month ago in Wilmington = A+. Do something off Grassroots (Homebrew, 8:16am) or Transistor (Prisoner, Beautiful Disaster) next!
They have 311 days still going on every year. Las Vegas is 311 day for 2021!!
Well, 311 Day on even years ('22), and the 311 Cruise is on odd years. I went to 311 Day Vegas 2010! Great time. But yeah, still doing it big, every Summer Unity Tour, etc.
@@skinhitter27 I had been to the New Orleans 311 day years ago when they used to rotate with Memphis I believe.
Reggae-Rock at its best. :) Might want to let Lex hear some other songs from them like, "Amber", "All Mixed Up", and "Hey You".
This is a great band to explore! Real music geniuses. Check out "Creatures for a While" and "Champagne"
Brad calling this "good times music" won RUclips for me today. Couldn't agree more.
311 is a great band. Check out Applies Science, Homebrew, Omaha Stylee, Lucky, Do you Right... So many great songs.
Agreed. The first two albums were the best.
One of the best rhythm sections in rock. The drummer and bassist for this bad are just top tier in every way. (lead guitarist is mega-talented too)
So, Lex needs to open up, not overthink it and just feel the music... good one Brad. 😄
Brad, everything you just said to Lex about expanding her horizons, loosening up and "just feeling the music a little bit", is exactly what we've been wanting you to do with Metal and Classic Rock. 🙂
I loved 311, especially when I was skateboarding in the 90s. Very underrated group.
HELL YEA 311! Thanks guys, I recommend all of their stuff, especially the albums "Music" through to "Soundsystem". My personal opinion of course. They also put on a great live show, seen them a few times
Y'all just keep taking me back to high school. Loving these reaction choices!
I crowd surfed to this song when I was 14. IT WAS AMAZING. The entire place was shaking. I could barely hear after the concert.
I've seen these guys a few times and they sounded fabulous. Thank you for reacting to 311!
Thanks for reviewing this song. I LOVE this song! Definitely my favorite 311 song.
It's true, Tony Hawk was the game that opened our eyes to badass music and great game play, I'll wreck you in some Tony Hawk 64 Brad. 🤣🤣🤣
1993 Music Album was FIRE!!!!! Their first Album I believe!!
Any band that has their own original sound deserves all the respect
But thats not original at all
Unique sound but not original. Clash, Cure, Red Hot Chili Peppers that's original. Not 311!
Who else sounds like 311? Nobody. That's the definition of original
Brad is correct. These guys are badass! More 311 please.
So glad you guys did 311!! These guys have such a cool sound and it changed a lot over time.
This song was huge in the 90s. Especially on the rock radio stations. It still is a little bit. They went at least Platinum because of this song. This is when 311 exploded.
Brad telling Lex to "feel the music." Kinda funny...
It is...
Great band live!! 311 day 08 New Orleans amazing show!!
I was at the first 311 day in New Orleans 2000
I saw them probably 13 times back in the day. One of the highlights of my youth was one time at a small club in DC called Nation, when Nick Hexum jumped off the stage and landed right on my head. 😂
311 has been my favorite for 30 years and and still counting... I miss those days. We used to play a lot of their songs, it's crazy how technical some of their songs are but sounds so easy. Masterpieces!
They are *so good* live! Still!!!
Friday afternoon is a great one from 311. They have a huge library of music. Creatures is another great one.
311 has been my favorite band since 95…still go for the hive! Very few bands out there…all original members, massive underground following, sticks to a formula that works musically and has remained that way for 30 plus years. They’re a national treasure!
Love 311. They have a tone of great songs. All Mixed Up is super dope! That dancehall mix is 🔥🔥🔥🔥.
Brad feeling it!
Tony Hawk had the best songs ever
I just saw them a couple nights ago
Badass concert
Love 311. Thank you! Deep catalogue, lots of variety!
My most favorite rock band, please do more 311!
One of my favorite bands of all time! Very underrated
Such a great band. No one does 311. Thanks so much!
Big fan of this band saw em live again a couple years ago they still put on a great show
311, Sublime, Wu-Tang, and Dave Matthews Band (that's my older sister's influence) was almost always in my diskman
"Discman"...that is rich...I still have a Sony Walkman cassette player...I sometimes roller-skate around town with my leg warmers, terrycloth head band and Walkman with the foam headphones....only kidding...I never do that...gives me an idea for Halloween
@@raymo6795 had the walkman, but the leg warmers and Terry cloth headbands had already made way for the windbreaker jacket/pants/fanny pack combo style! :D
@@davidmeloche3563 …looked good then, it will look good now.Plus a convenient place for your personal belongings
Saw them live last year….F’N AMAZING! They are definitely my fave o rite from that era…
These guys put on an amazing live show. Amazing bass player.
This song was definitely on the soundtrack of my childhood! Love you guys reactions!!
I went to highschool with 3 of the band members. On the local scene in Omaha, NE they rocked many venues.
Never thought I would say this; but, Lex is crazy!!!! 311 is the 💩!!! They have a wide range of how they play. This one is one of the heavy songs. I think she would love Beyond the Gray Sky even though it’s a slower song. Check it out!
311 is the 💩 , minus the "the"
@@Tony-iu7swhen why are you watching this video 😭
@@CheddarCheese1984 because I can, but also because I watch a lot of these content creators reactions.
I bumped this CD HARD in high school. Always takes me back when I hear it
Love 311! “ Be here while”is my fave from them.
311 - Love Song
I usually don’t like bands doing other band’s songs but it’s a great remake of the original
Got to meet the guys & actually get on the tour bus in college before this album came out. So cool, so chill...just the nicest guys. Prolly only 100 ppl at the gig that night
My first real show was these guys with Slightly Stoopid. Epic show. Very underrated band
311 drummer is on point.. go Chad!!
Tell her, Brad. Open ur mind, Lex :) Also that outro change up is tough💪
Her bobbin her head at the rap parts is so natural. 😊
My favorite band since ‘94
I loved 311 back in the day.
311 is Awesome! Seen them like 10 times. Met P Nut in St. Louis in the parking lot. Super chill guy and amazing bassist! One of the best live bands I've seen.
I LOVE that Brad digs this.
The album Transistor is a masterpiece of music. The whole thing. My favorites off it are Electricity, Use of Time, and Borders but it’s very influential and will always be great to me.
Gotta be one of the best albums of anything ever. Transistor is a masterpiece.
Stealing Happy Hours is the hidden gem of their entire catalog
Love Borders
311...they're quite good, and have so many different sounds. I second the request for either "Beautiful Disaster" or "Amber" to hear more laid-back and chill sides of them.
Saw them back in 96 or 97. Sa Martinez has never been a skilled rapper but they have put out some bangers over the years. Pnut is the most underrated bassist
I really dug this band, especially the first 2 albums. We always used to use the song "Mixed Up" to tune our overpowered car stereos...this is as close to "rap" that i ever enjoyed...Lex seems to enjoy traditional rock, Metal, and Southern rock..I hope you check out more EARLY Journey
Love 311. We’ve always listen to them and sublime when we go to the beach. It’s really just beach music to me and my friends.
You probably remember it from TRL on MTV. This was #1 on there for a while and also reached #1 on the billboard list.
I was HAMMERED at age 15 at a house party jamming to this. It was unreal awesome.
Did brad just tell lex to feel the music?!?! 🤣🤣. Have I entered an alternate universe??????
I used to jam this album in '88 Chrysler Sundance hatchback 2 12" subs in the trunk. HEAVEN
311 is still rocking to this day with their sound ever evolving. They’re one of the best live rock bands you will ever see.
311 got skills. they played around with rap stuff but they go way deeper than that.
Love this song, love the band. Seen them 5 times in concert. These guys rock. Check out all their stuff from the 90s to the new voyager album they put out a few years ago
311 is the best!!!
They have a lot of better songs in their catalogue. They are also a good band to see live. Check out 311 day.
Yes!! ❤❤❤
Sometimes I think you are listening to my playlist but luckily I still discover new songs thanks to this channel. Never heard this, perhaps it was bigger in the USA than in Europe? Agree with Lex on this one.
Always loved playing along to this song on guitar.
Hydroponic is a good one. Plain. Large in the margin. You wouldn't believe. Don't stay home. Gosh I could go on forever. Love these guys!!!
Beautiful disaster, Amber, and All Mixed Up are all favorites from 311. Love them so much!
down was everywhere in 90s
311 are a vibe
They have a big reggae influence as well. I like when Brad finally finds one he likes lol
I saw these guys in Chicago back in the day. I used to love these guys.
Saw these guys in ’93. Never before or after saw a whole crowd pogo to the rhythm.
All Mixed Up and Beautiful Disaster are two more I enjoy from 311. Worth a listen.
This was the first single on their self titled album and their first big hit. Next was "All Mixed Up", which should also be your next 311 song reaction. It's not heavy at all.
I love All Mixed Up
Don't Stay Home was the first single
311 has a huge catalog. It all vibes but varies a lot.
311 - “Creatures (for awhile)”
Lex needs to give hed p.e. a listen. That might change her opinion on rap/rock. 🤘😆🤘
seen them live twice. So much fun.
Ahhh, to relive the 90s... ♥️
I love that you guys are picking up songs/artists that most other reaction channels don't listen to.
