311 has gone on the road with probably one of the most eclectic groups of backing bands ever. Every 311 show is very different and amazing.

I recommend "Come Original" and "Homebrew". Both songs illustrate the diversity 311 has, plus you get to hear vocals from both Nick (who was the lead on this track) and SA who is the one doing the effects.
Homebrew is the way to go! I'm also partial to gap. I know it's a b side song but it's always gets me in a good mood

Check out the 311 day shows on RUclips from 2020. They did 3 nights in in a row it was awesome. The 1st show was the day they started shutting everything down for covid too.
These guys are amazing live. If you ever get a chance you should go see them. Quality of their shows are second to none.

I love 311 so much!! I've seen them live many times! They are from Omaha, Nebraska. 311 means Indecent exposure.
I love 311! They are also one of the best live bands I've ever seen.
I especially like them for their diversity. They have elements of punk rock, funk, hip-hop, reggae, metal, alternative, pop, electronic music, and jazz. Not to mention, Nick Hexum is a phenomenal songwriter.
Creatures is the next one you should check out. Great energy. Love the reactions keep them coming. ✌️
My favorite band, saw them for the first time in 96 in Richmond VA. On a side note, you should check out Aesop Rock Difficult off of his latest album Garbology. The beat sounds like something from a horror movie.
I also saw them for the 1st time in 96 in San Diego at the Choose or Lose free concert. 20 shows later and a tattoo still rocking hard!

Great band! Come Original is another good song. I love the instrumental breakdown toward the end. I just makes me feel like I'm in paradise. Love how music can do that.
These guys have been together and active for more than 3 decades now, same lineup. And they're as good today as they were then. They were my first real favorite band back in high school, I never really gave more than a passing thought to music until I heard them and became a mega fan, and from there my music journey really started. So, I owe 311 a lot with regards to music, they're the ones who made me give a shit about it.
Love this song and band, I got to see them live at the Illinois State Fair a few years ago, they had a fog machine to cover up the Cannabis smoke, the band was passing around multiple joints and blunts, I was in the VIP Pit first row right up against the stage, I got one of the guitar player’s guitar picks, I got a contact high from the band
Nix Hex is a pretty interesting and psychedelic rock song by them. My favorite though might be Beyond the Grey Sky
A dancehall/reggae drum line with funky baseline and metal guitars - always been a great fusion song.

Amber is a super good song but I think you would like Down or Come Original as it has their MC that doesn't perform in either this song or Amber.

They were banned from our Cincinnati street festival in the early 2000s. Cops didn't know how to deal with the pit. Called Taste of Cincinnati. Lots of beer and sausage. Middle of the city. Rich people freaked out

There are a lot of stories behind the name 311 but the real, true story is one time they got in trouble with the police and they cop was on the radio and said "we got a 311 in progress". So they thought it would be funny to make it their band name. the code "311" was for indecent exposure because the guitarist was arrested for streaking :D
