I was 22 and living in Hawaii when this song came out. Driving next to the beach with the windows down, breathing in the warm ocean air and listening to this song is one of the best memories I'll ever get to have.

Dude, I'm 62 and still loving 311. I've been to 6 concerts. I went wherever they played. Atlantic City, Asbury Park, Philadelphia, and NYC. Got a few looks cuz I'm old but as soon as people noticed me singing along with every song they'd pass me the joint. Good times but now I'm in a home due to medical issues. Thank the stars my son was a fan too so he went with me.

It's weird i can never get tired of this song. 311 is one of my top 5 favorite bands and usually i get bit tired of band's biggest hits, but this still has the same magic as back in the day. It always makes me feel so nostalgic, almost makes me cry. Not many songs can do that to me.

I have a distinct memory of being in high school when this track came out back in the day and my radio alarm being set for 6 A.M. This track played and not only did I discover it but getting out of bed that morning as a young teenager was not easy. Love the song, so nostalgic, almost brings a tear to the eye because time goes by so fast.

this song saved my life when I was 9 nine years old and I had fractured my skull and was stuck on the lounge couldn't move or speak and I played this song came on and I got the energy to move my hand and press repeat and listened to it until morning to stay awake because I felt like I was going to die if I fell asleep then in the morning I was rushed to hospital when everyone realised it was so bad and a couple days later a made my mum go out and buy this for me so I could listen to it in hospital.. I still have this same CD and still play it regularly!!

Well, I'm glad you love the song and I'm sure 311 would love to hear this story because it shows that their creation gave you the will to push forward through the pain and the difficulty of your situation. It is a beautiful story that I find to be inspirational. With that said, perception is everything especially in stressful times and worse situations. You had an injury and often times, due to pain and stress, people will often think that things are happening that might not be as serious as they imagined. In fact, with a skull fracture, it is very likely that you were also concussed, distorting your sense of reality. I am not attempting to downplay the seriousness of your previous situation, but, I am merely saying that if the injury was as brutal as you had imagined, it is very unlikely that a song from 311 was going to be the thing that kept you alive. Anyway, I am extremely happy that you made it through and that you're doing well today. Much LOVE and take care of yourself. Also, none of this was intended to insult you or hurt your feelings.

One of the chillest songs ever. 311 was so underrated. I can remember having to be behind the walls of the Alabama Dept. Of Corrections for a couple of years repaying a debt to society. I was on the yard one day listening to my walkman and this song came on. For a brief 3 or 4 minutes I was transported from behind those fences to a sunny beach in California thanks to 311. This will always be my "Amber" story..
