This took the saying "Give them a hand, they will take the whole arm." LITERALLY. Abby didn't deserve this at all. The former in-laws are so selfish, I hope they get what punishment they deserve.
poor poor abby 😢 like her mother said, she wasted all of her kindness on the wrong people. and it is so heartwrenching to know that the people she trusted the most (to buy them a house and put their name, to sustain their current style of living) are the ones who put her to the end? so so unfair and unjust.
not just that but 2 of kids are their grandchildren are theirs… they chose money over their grandchildren because at the end of the day this will affect the children more than anything… plus they were getting everything for free, if that was me I would shut up and live happily as it is. No one, especially at this time gets anything for free and they were living the elite lifestyle for free with no work or respect earned whatsoever. I hope they get life in prison and inmates give them the payback they deserve ):
her ex husband and his family became too greedy for Abby's wealth so they planned to end Abby's life because the kwong family wanted all of Abby's wealth to go to them
@@LuckyG999 what- you know you are part of the problem. Creating theories like this in an active case is bizarre and just wrong. It creates speculations , people will follow what you say and it creates issues and makes it harder for the police to find out what really happened because of people like you. Speculations started to circulate with the 4 Idaho murder about the roommate just to be proven she wasn’t involved but the damage had already been done. I get speculations after the case but in an active and RECENT case that just happened about a week almost 2 weeks ago it’s better to keep it to yourself.
The woman who was saying that was her current mother in law (black hat), her mum was on the other side (orange mask) and couldn’t say anything except “my daughter my precious daughter“ 😢
Update: Abby's mom filed a court injunction stopping them from using the house as a potential motive... and to seek a declaration that her daughter was the beneficiary owner of that apartment.

The fact that the father in law is now demanding for Abby’s current partner to pay for all their legal fees is disgusting to me, vile shameless people.
WHAT?! You murder someone after abusing all of their kindness that was never repaid and have the absolute nerve to ask their partner to essentially bail you out of debt AGAIN?!
Her death alone was horrible and unjust, but what they did afterwords was plain out inhumane. She couldn’t even rest after her death, and her family can’t even say goodbye or hold a proper funeral for her. Her kids are gonna grow up and find out what happened to their mother and it’s plain out horrible and inhumane.
I read the analysis from several newsites that a lot of these high profile murders in HK actually had to dispose the bodies in this morbid way because of the high density of population and scarcity of land. If they didn't do it, they risked being discovered. So it kinda made sense. Not that it is not inmoral.
My family is from Hong Kong and I speak Cantonese as a second language… hearing her mom wail in pain and agony was so devastatingly heartbreaking. This is all so horrible. I hope her family can heal…
I don't know any Cantonese and I could already feel the gut-wrenching grief and pain the mother is in. I really don't know how her family can move on fully, but I hope they do
I speak cantonese as my first language and hearing this mom yell at her child for giving her love and kindness to the wrong people just gave me a chance to see how much pain she was in and how bad this was. Her 2 kids she had with Alex will be devastated to know that their father killed their wonderful mother out of jealousy. RIP Abby
i took the biggest note from this. my mom always tells me that being too kind will get me screwed over one day. i have hd bad situations happen becuase of this but abby's story was all i needed to set myself new boundries
@@rationalsamrat3247 Sometimes you have to put yourself first to be able to do the most good possible in the world. If your life is taken there isn't any going back.
I learned my lesson the hard way. So I'm done being kind. Nobody is getting anything from me. Not a penny, not a thought. I already gave everything I had to give and got robbed blind as a thank you.
Seeing the comments to this makes me pretty sad. Kindness is important and we should be kind to one another. You can still be kind to people and also set boundaries, the two things are not mutually exclusive. Any self respecting person will accept and respect the boundaries you set, and if they don't, THEN you can establish they're likely not worth your kindness or time. To me, the people in comments who got burned and are jaded are judging humanity on a few shitty people, potentially shitty people they never set boundaries with to start with. There also seems to be a huge confusion between materialism and kindness. Giving people things isn't a form of kindness. It CAN be, but again they're not mutually exclusive. You're not 'kind' just because you kept lending a friend lots of money and they never paid you back. Being taken advantage of for giving peoplen things is shit, don't get me wrong, but again thats where boundaries come into place. If you lend a friend $100 and expect it back, make sure you have an agreement in writing. If they don't return the money, don't give them more. Constantly throwing money at them, not getting anything return, but then repeating the process and getting mad about it is just silliness, not kindness. I have some friends who were consistently taken advantage of for their kindness, but it didn't jade them, they used it as a learning experience of how to better approach the situation in the future. A so called friend was offered a spare room while they were in a rough spot, but it was taken advantage of to the extent they refused to move out after a year and wouldn't pay rent. Rather than this experience make them go "I'M DONE WITH BEING KIND, FUCK EVERYONE" they instead just went "ok next time we offer our spare room to someone in need, we set clearer expectations"
I too was deeply saddened by this, and it did give me pause about the work I’m doing today to support 10 poor farming families who are now highly dependent on me for a lot of things. This is a reminder for me to review the boundaries and ground rules I’ve set with these farmers and to watch out for warning signs. Nevertheless, despite disheartening incidents like this, I choose not to give up on love, kindness and compassion toward others but must mindfully set appropriate boundaries and cut ties when the vibes are just negative.
@@ameliatan2801 Literally this, it's perfect. Everyone has different expectations. All you need to do is ensure everyone is on the same page. You don't have to be unkind, just ensuring boundaries are set is enough to swiftly see when someone passes them and is no longer respecting you.
This is by far the best coverage of this story. I love how much emphasis Stephanie put into describing who Abby is. Not many others has done her story justice.
I hate some people are like "well she's rich, instagram famous and she's marrying an even richer man" like wow is that all you can say? Not every rich person will pick up their kids themselves, not every rich person will open charities for animals, not every rich person will take care of the ex's finances. They really reduce her to a pretty face it's so sad.
I lived in Hong Kong for 2 years and love the city, but sad to say, it is a place deeply rooted in feudal patriarchy and misogyny. When I first heard the news I could immediately imagine how much her ex-husband's family hated this glamorously successful woman who dared to divorce their son
Abby was taken away from her loved ones too soon and too violently. My heart goes out to her grieving husband and children, her parents who had to say good bye to their daughter way too soon, and all who knew her.
It's always too soon but when it's this kind of too soon that's just extra awful. We shouldn't have to expect death as an inevitability Having to bury your father or mother isn't acceptable even though it may be inevitable but having to bury your son or daughter is impossible. A tragedy that shouldn't happen but happens all too often
With their status and wealth I whole hardly believe they will rip that family apart and they will not get a dime. At least that’s what I hope for, I mean either way I hope they all get life in prison and no connection to her wealth. What they did is just pure evil and how good she treated them when she really didn’t need to (WHILE THEY WERE SET FOR LIFE) kills me
Oh not to mention her current husband. These people will be executed and tortured. I've heard of how these rich people get back at those who wronged them. One even whipped the balls of a guy who used to be married to his daughte till it burst.
The woman calling her a stupid/silly girl and saying her kindness was misplaced and her heart was eaten by undeserving people is her current mother in law (woman in black hat). Her mother (in orange mask) just kept crying “mama’s daughter, mama’s precious daughter” 😢 It seems like her current in laws really do love her as their daughter. This whole case is so upsetting. That clip is especially upsetting to me because my own mum calls herself “mama” just like the victim’s mum does. And “stupid/silly girl” is often used in an endearing way to naive young girls from older people. She was so loved and these people took her away from people who loved and cared for her.
thank you for the clarification about the “stupid” translation, i had a feeling that’s how it was it intended but man does it sound really mean in English
@Michaela Cameron stupid isn't a great way of translating it, ‘’so mui‘’ (傻妹) is genuinely used as a very endearing term in spoken cantonese. im from hong kong, born and raised full chinese and it's smt that ur grandparents or parents would call you at home, it's not mean at all, just appropriate for younger family members. the meaning of that term i would translate would more be like dear/innocent/precious girl, even when the words technically mean silly/crazy/naive girl, the connotation of the phrase is not negative at all. I was sitting just listening in shock at this case but the moment her mom and current mother-in-law's cries was played in that clip, I started sobbing my eyes out because that is how my family would react if i was murdered, the pain hit so close to home. u can hear all the love, regret and blame in those few spoken words. 🕊 rest in peace Abby, and I hope u find ur way back home 🕊
She was 10 days younger than me. This is shocking and disgusting. The fact that someone’s generosity and open mindedness would be taken so for granted and met with such cruelty is absolutely unacceptable. Poor Abby. Her poor children, born wealthy and yet robbed at such a young age. To now grow up with no parents… this is horrific. Those people are so selfish and that is unfortunately an understatement. When I hear the wealthy complain about poor people in the future, (although prejudice is wrong) I won’t be able to stop myself from considering this heinous act. I was raised in poverty with a sadistic single parent btw. I always wished someone would save me. There is no version of life where I would have done something so ungrateful. He must have been narcissistic like his father to manipulate such a kind soul into loving him and fathering his children.
Her family said one of her biggest wish that she couldn’t fulfill now is to open a shelter just for abandoned animals, she’s truly an amazing human being not only to her monster of a family but also helpless animals
I really hope Abby gets justice. She deserved so much in life, this case is so tragic. There's no words I can even say, I just hope her family, friends, and her children heal from this horrific situation. She seemed like such a genuine and loving soul. Those wicked people never deserved her kindness, compassion, and generosity. Rest in heaven and peace Abby.
I hate how people are blaming the victim and their families like they ALWAYS do this 🤢. By doing this they're trying to put themselves above the victims like "I won't be a victim like you because I know better" when in reality all of us can be victims and all of us have people we trust especially if you know them since childhood. It's sickening that they're judging the grieving families CLOTHES when all they want to do is say goodbye wtf is wrong with people??? 😭😭
That’s a silly defense mechanism…that people use to reassure themselves that something that awful could never happen to them cause they are « too smart » they obviously never heard of sociopaths, psychopaths and other real evil people out there. No matter how smart, how strong you are, no matter whether you have boundaries or not you can meet the same fate as her…at the end of the day it’s just about luck/ destiny , some people would do anything out of greed and jealousy including killing the mother of their own children.
I admired Abby for being so generous to her former in-laws but it is so heartbreaking she lost her life for good at such a young age. She was too kind to those evil people! May her soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family. The saddest thing is like her four children are going to grow up without a mother. I hope her second husband is okay… This is just so heartbreaking!
And her 2 oldest children also lost their dad.... Imagine finding out your mother died, and how she died, but to also find out that your own father and the rest of your family on your fathers side were responsible for your mothers death... Unimaginable pain.
That level of sadism and narcissism doesn’t spring up overnight. The more they dig, the more skeletons (possibly literally) they would find. Even the fact that they were so organised, so prepared, not just to kidnap and murder her, but to dispose of her body in such a thorough and unusual way. It takes a very very unique kind of sick mind to be able to dismember a body, let alone grind it up and cook it into soup. That family, or at least members of them, would have done something less dramatic in the past. I find it hard to believe that this level of sophistication and sadism is their first go at murder. Poor Abby deserved the absolute opposite of how she was treated by her ex and their family. 18 is definitely too young to marry. It’s so sad that she was trapped into maintaining a relationship with her ex and ex in-laws because of their two children together. I wish her family had hired private investigators to do a thorough background check into Alex and his family prior to the marriage 😔
I agree, I hope they wont be resented by their half siblings & step dad even their grandparents. I say this because a lot of people react to grief in different ways specially in such traumatic circumstances. I hope these children can find peace & get all the support & love they need. My heart goes out to all of them & their family. Such a horrible senseless death of a beautiful kind woman by such vile evil monsters. I can’t even imagine what she went thru & what her loved ones are going thru. RIP Abby 🙏🕊️ 🤍
@@LunaRose316 The children have nothing to do with any of it no matter who their father was their their own individual selves. I bet they would want to be raised by their grandparents and step dad and don't want anything to do with their father side.
I hope they will never be exposed to their father or his family. They deserve better. I hope that Chris or Abby’s parents will adopt them completely and protect them, all four of them, and tell them all about the wonderful mother they had, as a role model. My father was a psychopath and my mother is a narcissist. I am neither. I am an autistic empath, if I had to label myself. I am nothing like my parents, and I am working so hard in therapy to be the best person I can be, for my children and to be in service of others. Blood doesn’t define us. Our values and our choices do. Her children can all be as wonderful as Abby was, especially with such loving families to raise them like she was raised. I’m sure they will be protected fiercely as well, as they should be.
This is really sick.... The betrayal she must have felt I hope this case doesn't become one of those cases where everyone gets like 10 or 12 years of sentences.. Justice must be served!!!

When I learned about the case of Abby Choi, I was shocked, especially of how brutally she was murdered and by her disgusting in laws and ex husband whom she was nice and generous towards. These monsters, somehow thought that they deserved all of that luxury. Those killers are psychopaths and I imagine that giving the situation they knew how to manipulate this young beautiful naïf girl, who was born rich and didn't care about money nor social status may she rest in peace. I showed this case to my mother and she said : "They killed her because she wanted to take that golden feeding bottle she fed them with" And on this holy month of Ramadan, I PRAY TO ALLAH THAT THOSE KILLERS ROT IN JAIL THEIR WHOLE LIFE AND BE PUNISHED SEVERELY. May she rest in peace, and thank you for this video, it helped clarify a lot of things 🙏🏻 also guys be careful of your surroundings and stay away from any toxic people please. May God protect us all.
On the night of the 21st, Abby’s mum actually had a dream in which Abby told her mum that she’s at an area where there’s dogs and monkey and even mentioned the area name. However, Abby’s mum have never went to that area and she went to inform the police of the dream she had. And sure enough, she was in that area in that house.
Abby wasn't meant for this world. She was too kind and giving, if there had been boundaries set in a contract during the divorce process that outlined the amount of alimony Alex would be allowed. Instead she believed her ex-husband and his family could be trusted. It's so very sad.
The whole family of 4 really said "I know she gave me pretty much everything but HOW DARE she not give more." Because really, what even? I can't imagine what she went through her last few moments. My mom always told me "if you like someone always look into their background and family, if the family isn't good 95% chance that the guy is no different and if your in laws are not good people, your life will be ruined"
Our child selves are the core of our being. We don't write over it or learn out of it the best we do is learn to cope with our failings. So much of who we are comes down to our experiences and there's no mystery family would happen to build so much of that
My family is horrific and I’ve done everything in my power to be different from them. I know how shocked my ex was after meeting them for the first time and he would regularly say, “How did you turn out so remarkably well given the way you were raised?” It’s true though. For most people, they don’t work to break the cycle.
A huge part of it is true but I for example didn't have a chance to spend much time and learn from them (they always worked), so me & my sister have a completely different set of values and mindset. Which turned out good for us, my sis and I are kind people that mean no harm❤ Overall, children turn out to be the same or the complete opposite of their parents. It's more rare though to have adequate children in a abusive family, so be careful still.
Her mother's wails are chilling and heartwrenching. It got me teary eyed. I can't imagine her pain of losing her child. I hope she can find peace and comfort in her grandchildren as a part of Abby🥺
Silly. It's her mother's fault the daughter met this fate. Abby is not a very intelligent girl, obviously. poor thing. It's one thing being born dumb and putting an expensive property in her ex-father-in-law's name. Note: EX.
@@cr0wdedteeth I don't know why you had to say that. That's weird. Just because they had other children doesn't mean that it's less painful at all. First of all they're not just subtitute for if the other siblings die. Losing someone is always painful no matter how much you're surrounded with so many people who loves you. Having other children doesn't soften the blow of losing someone. That is someone you CARE for, you LOVE and protected with your whole life. You gave your all to that person. You watched them turn into an amazing individual. They lost their kid in the most tragic and most brutal way in the hands of people they trusted. They love that kid with all their heart just to have someone take her away from them so inhumanely. Don't "I have to say" them. They can wail and mourn however they want. I don't even understand why people think it's okey to say that to people who just lost their kids. I hear it all the time and it's just so freaking weird. It's either, "You still have other kids" or "You CAN still have kids." Like that makes them feel better at all. They didn't just lost their earphone. You can't just tell them to buy a new one or use the other ones they have. It's their baby. What a weird thing to say to about a human being.
There is this cautionary tale in Chinese culture about a farmer and a snake. Where a farmer found a snake freezing to death in the side of the road, and put it in his clothes to warm it up with his own body temperature. The snake is revived and killed the farmer straight after. This case reminds me of that story. Don’t show kindness to people who will get entitled and hurt you in return
... that's not a Chinese cautionary tale. That's an Aesop's fairy tale, which is western. The only major Chinese legend along that vein actually fits even better because it's about choosing your family carefully, instead of generic kindness. In the legend, a young man shelters a white snake from a storm and then ends up marrying her. This then attracts all sorts of negative attention from her childhood rivals who seek to destroy their happiness for various petty reasons.
@@catatoblob8598 welp, I stand corrected. The version of the story I read came with illustration with the farmer in ancient chinese clothing so I must have been confused. it's interesting that all other Aesop fairy tales translation were accompanied with western looking illustration but this one was presented differently

Abby was a wonderful human and it’s so sad and heartbreaking that someone could do this to her, or anyone in general.
I find it extremely odd that Abby's own family and friends were so "hands off" from what was happening. For someone to be supporting ex in-laws, not in a normal way, but in luxury the way she was...idk it doesn't make sense for someone who had been born into a business family. I think the ex mom in law didn't want to do it. Like the police chiefs wife, but cause hes prob aggressive and will hurt her too if she said anything, she didn't report it earlier or stop them. Thats why she wasn't charged with murder but she was charged with not reporting the crime.

Insanity. How do you create a whole family of psychos ….. Jesus. Not even one person felt any guilt? She gave them everything… EVERYTHING. She literally the kindest and most generous human I’ve heard of. How do you live with yourself
I can’t even imagine the pure shock her soul felt in the moments leading up to her death. The betrayal. The confusion. She loved and trusted these people with every fiber of her being and they killed her for some more cash.
Girl, this is the first time I’m hearing your story times and I tested up with what the mother said. If what they say is true…she was an angel who helped demons thrive. I’m so sorry to her and her family
It's heartbreaking. No one deserves to be brutally murdered like that and it's worst considering she helped them, trusted them, kept them in her life despite the divorce.
this is heartbreaking! the pain of knowing that not only someone killed your child but also did horrific things to them :( she was so generous and those people turned out to be greedy monsters who did the unthinkable! can you imagine how traumatized cops are, when they come across cases like this one? i hope abby choi gets justice!!
Thank you so much for covering this tragic case, Stephanie. I appreciate you & the rest of the fam so much! 💕 Please cover the Jessica Lal murder case of 1999! (Sorry in advance if you've already done it.)
“only the good die young” they say. abby was such an angel, she was gone too soon, and that too in such a horrifying way. thank you stephanie and stephfiance for covering this case. i hope justice gets served right.
few months later. as a cantonese person who's been living in hong kong my entire life, i heard her case over dinner. and i was so absolutely disgusted. it was before parts of her body was found in pots, and all i knew was she went missing, and was murdered by her ex husband. and it was so fucking messed up! she paid for everything, for her ex's family, and because they were so greedy, they killed her. what made them think they wouldnt get caught? what made them think they'd even inherit the money? seriously, such cruel people. abby was a socialite here in hong kong, and many are so devastated about the news, including me. i seriously hope she can rest in peace in heaven, and that her children will feel better soon. such sick people should not be allowed to exist.
It’s disappointing how there’s “people” who do such acts. Thank you for always putting in so much effort to cover these cases to the best of your ability and make others sympathize (I’m aware that people already feel bad for the families and victims but you for me, make it feel like I’m closer to them.) even more for the victim. I’ve binged listened to both Rotten Mango and Baking a Murder(Mystery). Words cannot explain the anticipation I felt for the visual development.
I’ve heard about this case like 3 times but now my favorite person is covering it ♥️ I feel so sorry for Abby, it’s so sick of them not to think about the kids.
As someone who wears their heart on their sleeve, this one really got to me, more than any case I've watched before. So much of this doesn't make sense and has left me with so many questions as well as sadness and anger. How someone who is given so much can have the audacity to do something so monstrous is beyond me. Not only did they kill someone who gave them more than they deserved, they ripped a mother from her children because of their own disgusting greed. I truly wish people like this didn't exist. She deserved so much better. Shame on them.
This case is mortifying. Thank you for covering it. Very respectful & in this way, it helps keep her memory alive. Beyond her fate-- who she was, who her family was, and exactly how big this loss is to many.
In my experience in the US, there is the concept of "dating up/down", "marrying up/down", and "mismatch". It can be for any reason - money, family behavior, education, upbringing, even looks. Whether or not it is brought up (to your face) depends on culture and personalities involved.
They didn't say the concept wasn't in the west, they said there wasn't a name for it. Over here it's more demonized and you'll be seen as going after someones money when that might not even be the case. (Golddigging) where as it's more of a gossipy thing. In asia they dont bother to hide and openly talk in front of the mismatched couple about the situation instead of it being awkward.
We don’t have the same concept as they have in Asia, because the West currently views marriage mostly as a religious/ love bond, whereas in the East it’s more traditionally seen as contractual (although that’s changing with globalization). In the US we don’t even have “classes” in the sense they have in the East, but if you go by finances alone, then inter-class marriage is actually the norm, more common than not. Wealthy ppl in the West often like to marry a partner who’s more desirable in other ways. Athletes marry beautiful women, new money business millionaires marry into less wealthy but more culturally- established old money families, etc
It’s always sickening when these cases involve victims being murdered by people who they should have been able to trust whole heartedly. It truly shows that even the people you trust most can always turn around and hurt you. Heartbreaking and such a sad case. What that family did to Abby is beyond pure evil. I hope she gets justice and that they live every day regretting and in guilt.
That line at the end, what her father-in-law said, I got goosebumps and tears pricked at my eyes. That is the family she always should have belonged to... someone else got in the way and this is what the ending was... my heart breaks.
Can i just say...this is the only podcast/video playlist I've found that actually put it in order from oldest to newest...and i love it! I can never just listen/watch continuously because i have to stop and play the correct one. So thank you!!❤
This is frustrating because a good person is dead for being herself and spreading love... i have so much to say but this story broke my heart....ahhhhhhh....sending love to you Abby where ever you are
this is what terrifies me about marriage. when looking at the chris watts case, people say, "just leave. get a divorce". abby did exactly that but she still got murdered. it's so scary
Man, if I were still living with my mom (who grew up in HK), I could just hear her going off on how terrible poor people are. She herself was someone who not only married down, but married a foreigner -- and it did not turn out well. But I deeply resented the way she looked down on my grandma (who was poor but had the most giving heart ever). This is such a sad case and I fear it will further entrench some long-held views on generational poverty and social class. Thank you for your thoughtful and thorough presentation of this case. I feel so bad for Abby's mom and her kids. At least the current husband seems like a great guy.
Poor Abby she was a wonderful human with a big heart that evil people took advantage of. I hope her family can heal and she rests in peace, I hope she gets the justice she deserves. On a side note thank you for putting rotten mango on yt, it means a lot because yt might not pay you for your hard work! It is personally challenging for me to listen to podcasts without being able to see you guys talking thank you for putting it on youtube! Have an incredible week love to you both!
I know victims are typically shed in good light after their tragedies. However, its not just anyone that would willingly buy a 10mil worth of house for an ex and financially support them. And even if she didn't do that, no one deserves to be tortured and have their body treated like how they treated Abby Choi.
Thank you for talking about her story in such positive light. There are really vicious rumours and gossips flying around and some HK youtubers are milking her by releasing at least 5 videos a day just to talk about these gossips that had helped with nothing. These milkers are just as evil as the horrendous family.
This channel is seriously a blessing! Thank you Stephanie for all your hard work and thanks for covering this case! Cases like this (or really all cases) suck to hear about, but they're very informative and we need to get the names of these poor victims out there 💔
Stephanie´s storytelling is out of the world, she got me hooked on from the first sentence. Also stephiance´s (using the name until we cant anymore) inputs make it so much intriguing to listen to. Much love
i absolutely loved the rotten mango podcast but im actually so grateful for this new channel bc now i can look like im watching something as i eat alone in college instead of just staring straight ahead like a psychopath HAHA
That was goddamn horrific, to be so kind, so caring and to be so callously murdered by the very people you cared for without any reservation, poor girl. I hope her spirit will be able to find peace.
When I read this story I was so hurt and then I watched your video and I couldn't stop crying. I'm angry that someone could do that to someone period but then to find out who the person was makes it harder. Having experienced the murder of a family member, I understand the pain and loss. Abby seemed like a very good personality and a great mom.
Thank you for being you Stephanie. You have such a beautiful soul and the work you do is so inspiring. You bring justice to those lost and show how amazing these victims were. In addition to showing how disgusting these murderers are. By showing your humanity in these cases, it just reminds others that we can't just get used to the violence around us but to continue to show kindness everyday. I'm currently double majoring in psychology and crime science because I want to help people every day just like you. Thank you for helping me find my calling and ill forever be appreciative of you and your family for helping me see my calling. I hope you are having a beautiful day and keep up the amazing work ❤
I don't know why but this case really makes me genuinely sad and regretful (like I've only heard of her days ago and hearing her story and how they took her life just brings this unexplainable emotions out of me.) Why is it always the nice people that end up in this situation? She deserves so much better. Imagine what she could have become and she could have done if she's still here. I wouldn't blame all these on her gestures. She didn't do anything wrong. Her being helpful is not what lead her to her death. It's these selfish, ungrateful sycophants who lead her to her death. She did really nice things. It wasn't wrong. And her trying to put some boundaries to that kindness at the end wasn't wrong either. She even did it in the nicest way possible. It's just tragic that some people cannot see other people's kindness because they're too self-absorbed and only see and care about themselves. I agree that we should be careful who we trust but... You know, if these people end up betraying you, just know it's never your fault it ended up that way. Some monsters are just too good at hiding.
Abby Choi ‘s child studies in the same international school as my little brother , and it’s so devastating to hear and for the child. My condolences to them
I’m so glad you covered this case! My family is from HK so hearing about this case and the discourse around it really did shock me. Everyone I know have a different outlook on the case but overall it seems like no one really cares. This is a huge murder case but it’s being talked about like nothing so I’m glad you’re giving it the proper attention!
This case is so upsetting, I hope she's in a better place now and I feel sorry for her loved ones that must mourn her pointless death now :(. I hope they will get the appropriate punishment, nobody deserves a demise like that. 😥
Thank you for covering this case! It is so horrific! Side note: the background visuals are *chef’s kiss*. Now I don’t know if I will watch the videos or listen to the podcasts! First world problems…..
What I really love about your channel, is that even if I have heard about the cases you cover before, I don't even realize until like twenty minutes into the video because you tend to cover the cases from a different person's pov.
This took the saying "Give them a hand, they will take the whole arm." LITERALLY. Abby didn't deserve this at all. The former in-laws are so selfish, I hope they get what punishment they deserve.

not just that but 2 of kids are their grandchildren are theirs… they chose money over their grandchildren because at the end of the day this will affect the children more than anything… plus they were getting everything for free, if that was me I would shut up and live happily as it is.

Yeah, I'm really scared for what the kids will have to go through. They don't deserve to suffer like this.
I read the analysis from several newsites that a lot of these high profile murders in HK actually had to dispose the bodies in this morbid way because of the high density of population and scarcity of land. If they didn't do it, they risked being discovered. So it kinda made sense. Not that it is not inmoral.

Sometimes you have to put yourself first to be able to do the most good possible in the world.
Definitely. Others focused to much on her status and being on covers of magazines 🙄

It's always too soon

The woman calling her a stupid/silly girl and saying her kindness was misplaced and her heart was eaten by undeserving people is her current mother in law (woman in black hat).
Her mother (in orange mask) just kept crying “mama’s daughter, mama’s precious daughter” 😢
It seems like her current in laws really do love her as their daughter.

"10 - 12 or 25 years" are they kidding us world's justice is so seek they must be a "Lesson!!!" to other syncopates who are thinking to do this kind of evil unthinkable things !!!
This happened in Asia. Afaik, Asian criminal laws aren't as soft, and the sentences aren't as lenient as in the West.
China does not have a death penalty whatever punishment these monsters get it's inevitable that they will come out alive one day. What a bunch of filthy people! They don't deserve to live.
I showed this case to my mother and she said : "They killed her because she wanted to take that golden feeding bottle she fed them with"
And on this holy month of Ramadan, I PRAY TO ALLAH THAT THOSE KILLERS ROT IN JAIL THEIR WHOLE LIFE AND BE PUNISHED SEVERELY.
May she rest in peace, and thank you for this video, it helped clarify a lot of things 🙏🏻 also guys be careful of your surroundings and stay away from any toxic people please. May God protect us all.
This case is sickening! I can't imagine her last moments on earth 💔!
I agree, what an horrific way to pass.
Rest in peace Abby! ❣
I hope her children never have contact with such dogs.
😅😅😅
@@jayr7781😅😅😮😮
I cried just listening to how they dismembered this angel. She was so kind to them. The Ex-husband family is inhuman, cruel and demonic.
Too bad they won’t get death penalty by firing squad in HK if found guilty. Life in prison is just too nice of a sentence for them.👀
On the night of the 21st, Abby’s mum actually had a dream in which Abby told her mum that she’s at an area where there’s dogs and monkey and even mentioned the area name. However, Abby’s mum have never went to that area and she went to inform the police of the dream she had.
And sure enough, she was in that area in that house.
🙁😢
That’s crazy….I believe at that point she was dead and was contacting her from beyond. There’s no way. Crazy!
Bro that sounds fake but ok
Abby wasn't meant for this world. She was too kind and giving, if there had been boundaries set in a contract during the divorce process that outlined the amount of alimony Alex would be allowed. Instead she believed her ex-husband and his family could be trusted. It's so very sad.
The whole family of 4 really said "I know she gave me pretty much everything but HOW DARE she not give more." Because really, what even? I can't imagine what she went through her last few moments. I don't know about how international cases work or international justice systems, but I hope all of them are put to jail for life.
Toxic in laws 😤🙄
They brutally killed the daughter and wife of extreme wealth, they’ll get their comeuppance.
Omg, I started crying immediately. I never knew this was an ongoing case. She was so beautiful and when you explained how she died, I froze out of shock. There are some sick people in this world. I’m literally in utter shock. You cannot trust anyone nowadays, even those closest to you. This has really opened my eyes. Wow😨😰
I can't believe what they did to her she was a beauty and a fashion icon

@@midnight_muzimie8556 damn she is just saying she was beautiful. Y r u stuck on that she literally talked about other stuff other than her beauty... Y r u trynna start something out of nothing. R u ugly and jealous or something??
@@midnight_muzimie8556 Their just acknowledging her beauty lol.
@@Erzan391 theyre only talking about her beauty, which is highly disrespectful. she had an amazing personality and gave a warm smile everywhere she went. pointing out the beauty of a girl who was MURDERED is so disrespectful
This story sucks so badly. For one, she seemed like a genuinely beautiful person and mother, inside and out. How a parent could ever do such a thing to their child’s other parent, I will never understand.
Poor babies. I hope that they will get all of the love and support they need. ❤
This story is just so sad and shows how selfish people can be and now 4 children are without a mother and two of those children are without a dad as well. I hope the Abbey's family can somehow keep the money from the ex-husband and his family. If he and his family had no problem with doing this to a grown women imagine what they might do to the children.
If they are convicted they will spend life in prison. I don't think they will have any access to her money. Her first 2 kids will get to inherit some of course.
@@fc7307 Even if they are in prison, one of them may inherit all her wealth.
Selfish people including HK govt.
Apparently the Kwong father had his lawyer call Abby's husband's lawyer to ask them for money to pay for the Kwong family's legal fees. The audacity!!
May 8th is in a few months, not a few days! Please do an update video once the trial ends! It's kind of a pity that HK doesn't have a death sentence tbh. Maybe that's why they didn't hesitate to commit such a terrible act. Abby was too good for this world. I cry for her 💔
Wow!! how sickening!!! The audacity is right!! I hope the new husband’s lawyer told him off and hung up on their lawyer. Those sick psychos better not get a penny from anyone.
everyone might think “the nerve of them to ask” but in reality it just shows there is more to the story than what we all think, I feel…
@@milkdudsnyc147 I suspect that evil father-in-law has a hold & manipulation over people.
Maybe bcos of his past previous position in the police force & with old connections, he can fabricate some stories that has his own backup gang to hassle them with his kind of threat if the victim(s) not willing to meet their demands & threats. Hence, you see him behaving like a self righteous boss/king who did no wrong nor any harm, hvg no qualms, no compunction or any sense of decent human touch of humility but pure arrogant demand with sheer boldness & audacity!
Or maybe just by knowing the treacherous cold blooded evil of this conniving devious shark of a soulless man & his seedy character & shady background, he has delve into occult or witchcraft practice. He may hv a "charm" on him that one tends to oblige, agree or accede to his demands even tho you feel something "scratchy" abt him & his request wch may not seem unreasonable & out of place at first but you just "obediently" oblige!!!?? 🙄😏
Evil crooked people are never clean nor straightforward or plain common & normal. Always with underlying tone of quirky reason & meaning lurking arnd with more troublesome messy outcome if unmet.
His greed, over-confident, pride, self seeking, entitlement, low morals with corrupt mind & heart, dubious, duplicity, abuse of former police position, love of self only, controlling & manipulative, avarice, love luxurious life beyond his means, ability or any capabilities, immorality with bad habits & devices, etc....
Sadly & no surprise that this whole corrupted fmly under him are exactly just like him. The two hopeless good-for-nothing sons are just a carbon copy of their horrible father. With no skills or any qualifications but rather more corrupt with all bad devices. The whole fmly are really blood suckers, real parasites, taking advantage with no common sense of gratitude or thks but thinking they will be spoon fed for life! It's like a given obligation of Abby Choi's responsibility to house & feed them + with pocket money cash to feed off their bad habit devices of gambling, stupid dumb biz ventures that flop, drinking, maybe even prostitution too as the father himself 👉🏼 patronised seedy massage parlours & hvg a mistress! Wow, a jobless & a retiree hv the damm $money to keep a mistress!!!???
Thus, money itself is NOT evil if one knows how to master it & NOT let money master or control you!
It's the LOVE of money that's the root of all evil.
Know that when God blesses you, it's for a reason. You are blessed to be a blessing to others! Most of all, depend & rely on God Who never fails! Be grateful & always thkful for his Goodness, to keep yourself in check to be humble!☘️

@@milkdudsnyc147 more to the story? What more to the story do you think there is? The kwong family is selfish and greedy AF, they only care about money. Period. End of story.
@@milkdudsnyc147 what do you mean by that? They murdered her because she wasn’t giving them enough money, what they did was horrible and they deserve either death or life in prison.
She was blessed with immense wealth, grace and a generous heart. Sadly these very blessings turned out to be a curse for her. Couldn't help but tear up. She was a kind, sweet, innocent fool who instilled her trust in devils....my heart goes to her, her husband Chris, her parents, her children...her loved ones...what a world!
But sometimes people get to know about the inlaws family later... Some people are very good at hiding their true intentions
I wonder what happen to their 2 children…I hope they won’t be judged by their father’s (and his father’s whole family) action 😢
A huge part of it is true but I for example didn't have a chance to spend much time and learn from them (they always worked), so me & my sister have a completely different set of values and mindset. Which turned out good for us, my sis and I are kind people that mean no harm❤
Overall, children turn out to be the same or the complete opposite of their parents. It's more rare though to have adequate children in a abusive family, so be careful still.
Her mother's wails are chilling and heartwrenching. It got me teary eyed. I can't imagine her pain of losing her child. I hope she can find peace and comfort in her grandchildren as a part of Abby🥺
that part nearly had me in tears. I do have to say abby isnt her only daughter though Abby has sisters
Silly. It's her mother's fault the daughter met this fate. Abby is not a very intelligent girl, obviously. poor thing. It's one thing being born dumb and putting an expensive property in her ex-father-in-law's name. Note: EX.
@@cr0wdedteeth yes she has sisters but losing a child is painful regardless. No parent wants to bury their baby. That is the worst.
Each child is should hold a valuable place in their parents' hearts. Once that piece is gone, there's nothing else that can fill it
I don't think I could ever listen to anybody else's storytelling after listening to you. The way you present with such empathy 🥺
😣I’m from Hong Kong and this case is really so gruesome 😢😢😢feeling very sad for the children and I wish them all the best !! on another note, many local news have reported that, apparently the in laws had the audacity to call the victim’s family to ask them to pay for their legal fees like what…. it’s disgusting
These people are monsters. Asking the husband, s Lawyer for the legal fees?? How dare! Such a shameless, ungrateful parasites.Their mind has turn up-side down.
A family of psychopath. They think they are entitled.
Can I ask how are people in Hong Kong reacting to it? I hope Alex Hwong's family never rests
Rest In Peace Abby. “Thank you very much for everything you did” were words you deserve to hear. Thank you for your kindness and sorry this happened to you.😔 I just feel like you deserve an apology and appreciation from someone.
These people can't even be considered human beings, they're monsters and I hope they get the worst punishment that can be given to them. She didn't deserve that and I hope her family and friends affected by this can find peace.
Thank you so much for covering this Stephanie, more people really need to hear about this case.
Also, I love the intro it's so cool🤩
Unfortunately, this is VERY human behavior. This shit has happened throughout human history and will continue to happen. Few or no other animals do things like this in nature.
"Everything he touches turns to debt" instead of the Midas Touch (turns things to gold), its the Minus Touch (turns things into debt).
Thank you Stephanie for talking about this….This case is insane
This case breaks my heart, absolutely vile what happened to her. Thank you for giving publicity to this case Stephanie💗💗
I really want to commend you for how you present your content. Such compassion and attention to detail, how in depth your explanations are for things foreigners might not understand.
The speculation in the Chinese media regarding the veggies mixed with her human remains was to disguise the smell of cooking human flesh because it smells different than animal flesh. This case is so tragic. May Abby rest in peace.
They probably cooked it to hide the smell of decomposition in the first place. Then added the aromatics to hide the smell.
What a horrifying image 😢
as someone who speaks Cantonese this case just hurt on a different level. watching the mother cry out for Abby. I went to go hug my mom.
it made me burst into tears. truly so heartbreaking
As a Hong Kong citizen I feel very heartbroken that there are people in Hong Kong that can do something so gruesome and cruel. I can’t imagine what her family and 2 kids feel like. Rest in Peace Abby Choi🕊️
This case is so gruesome and sickening. I started crying near when you started to explain how Abby’s mother started to feel and what she said. I feel so bad for her children.
That disgusting family ruined a mother, a daughter’s life because of greed. For money that they won’t ever receive. I hope they rot in jail. They took advantage of a extremely kind and selfless girl and it’s just outstanding to me that nobody in the family took a fucking second to step back and say “woah. What the hell are we thinking?? We should be grateful for what she’s done for us.”
Thank you Stephanie for addressing and talking about this case and shedding light on it.
An accountant, a family friend, SOMEONE would have know they were leeching off her?? Were they blackmailing her about something?
I just can't believe the whole Kwong family was in on it! It's sickening what they did to her, regardless of why they did it.
I think the ex mom in law didn't want to do it. Like the police chiefs wife, but cause hes prob aggressive and will hurt her too if she said anything, she didn't report it earlier or stop them.
Thats why she wasn't charged with murder but she was charged with not reporting the crime.
@@urupeaches everyone knew
Thats why they didn't want her to marry Alex before but Abby didn't care. She did that herself and spent money on them herself and for her kids to live a good life.

She was the definition of perfection. Just beautiful inside and out. Such a tragedy. We need more people like her on this earth.
this is heartbreaking! the pain of knowing that not only someone killed your child but also did horrific things to them :( she was so generous and those people turned out to be greedy monsters who did the unthinkable! can you imagine how traumatized cops are, when they come across cases like this one? i hope abby choi gets justice!!

Yes, she was a beautiful and gentle angel!
few months later. as a cantonese person who's been living in hong kong my entire life, i heard her case over dinner. and i was so absolutely disgusted. it was before parts of her body was found in pots, and all i knew was she went missing, and was murdered by her ex husband. and it was so fucking messed up! she paid for everything, for her ex's family, and because they were so greedy, they killed her. what made them think they wouldnt get caught? what made them think they'd even inherit the money? seriously, such cruel people. abby was a socialite here in hong kong, and many are so devastated about the news, including me. i seriously hope she can rest in peace in heaven, and that her children will feel better soon. such sick people should not be allowed to exist.
It’s disappointing how there’s “people” who do such acts. Thank you for always putting in so much effort to cover these cases to the best of your ability and make others sympathize (I’m aware that people already feel bad for the families and victims but you for me, make it feel like I’m closer to them.) even more for the victim.

Stephanie is always pulling through with the visuals ❤
In the west its usually when someone is a lot better looking than their partner.
In the east they have a more feudal way of looking at marriage compared to the modern way of looking in the west
This was a very heartbreaking case. I was shocked when they even dismembered her. It is sickening
That line at the end, what her father-in-law said, I got goosebumps and tears pricked at my eyes. That is the family she always should have belonged to... someone else got in the way and this is what the ending was... my heart breaks.

I’m from Hong Kong, and there has been so many versions of this, but I’m so glad that you talked about it!
Imagine having to hear that your father murdered your mother. I hope their family can heal and will get the justice they deserve.

Much love
It's scary to think that people like this still exist... around us.

This case is so upsetting, I hope she's in a better place now and I feel sorry for her loved ones that must mourn her pointless death now :(. I hope they will get the appropriate punishment, nobody deserves a demise like that.

What I really love about your channel, is that even if I have heard about the cases you cover before, I don't even realize until like twenty minutes into the video because you tend to cover the cases from a different person's pov.
