Thank you for the tips , just the other day my 11 mouth puppy defeated a floating balloon,it was awesome to see her fear and nervous turned into confidence and aggression
Great content man! Question though, if the decoy just looks like a person who is walking and looking at you, won’t the dog become aggressive towards people when your just walking your dog outside?
I was going to ask this. Can you show the off switch? Ouss or break? Is it even possible? What are the warning signs you see when rounding a blind corner for instance to come out of a unintentional boogyman situation?
no. but based on it's genetics, the dog will have a certain degree of wariness to strangers, which is desirable depending on the intended purpose of the dog. the reason is because triggering it's defensive drive will eventually be put on cue, in addition to developing the context of this specific behaviour as opposed to generalizing it. the generalized behaviour is to be neutral or even social, but when the handler gives the dog a defensive cue, it signals to the dog that this is a threat and to be wary.
This is awesome!!! I love what you did with the 2nd pup. Waaay too often trainers, like you mentioned, will avoid the reactivity completely or even push the pup far before it’s ready in some ridiculous attempt to “toughen it up” before they have put in this sort of time and work. Those little oof barks she gave are the very beginning and I LOVE the timing you and the decoy had to show her her own power 👏💯👌👍🙌 Great Video!!!!!! That first pup looks like a fun ball of fire to work with too lol 😂
Wow, I use to do this with my Dobermans. I had no idea it was a training tool. But believe me no one would mess with me, and if someone engorged her warning, She would bite. Although if a dog is warning you to stay away and you keep approaching the dog you can expect a bite. which it what happened to me, I let my dog bite the guy. I’m not sure I that was the right thing to do but out in the country she was all I had, she did her job. I love watching these videos. Right now I have two Dobermans and they’re ready for some good training.
Your videos are informative and amazing. I would like you to use and do a Vehicle guard video, teaching a mastiff or Shepard how to guard a car or van in a cage or passenger side.
i have a 13 week old malinois puppy that is pretty confident and reacts to strangers by barking and moving forward how do i balance this with socializing him by taking him in public or having company over? if i try to correct when i have company over will it take his natural drive and reaction out of him and hinder future training?
i have a 4 months old gsd and hes fine inside the house he barks at strangers and he immedetly run toward any new noise but when i take him outside tale goes down most of the time and whenever any human even kids approch us he want to run back home and he not taking any command and doesnt listen to me so pls tell me what to do hes a cute little pup he just afraid outside what can i do to help him get over this situation and focus on me no matter what
@@eduardgabriel4610 you want a protection to be social and friendly. A dog who's always going after people is not a dog you want as a protection dog due to the fact you cant have them out in public or with stranger who are your friends.
German Shepherds go through all sorts of wonky growth phases. Some grow out of cow hocks but if they don’t then it doesn’t hurt them and they can lead normal lives. The dog could also just have been standing weird.
their ligaments usually don’t tighten up until they’re over a year old. They appear cowhocked when in reality they’re just still very flexible and lack muscle rigidity.
The majority of PSA or IGP club owners will immediately humiliate the puppy like Malinois in this video and pronounced not suitable for the sport. You know why? Because they really do not want to train, they just want dogs who do it all and make them look good. This is a huge issue at least in North Carolina. Nasty people at the club and nasty club owners. I had to switch several clubs with my German shepherd before landing the right trainer/decoy. She did fantastic in just two months.

I expect part 4, thank you for sharing your knowledge💪💪
Another great opportunity to see how you work! Thanks again...

I too wanted to know the answer to the question.

I have the same question.
Exactly because what's the point of having a protection dog if you cant take these dogs out in public
I would love to see a part 4. This is so awesome. Thank you for sharing this!!!!!
Your so good at what you do !

That was so interesting to see the differences in how the dogs reacted. Gauge looks like he is going to be an awesome pup.
This is fantastic, is there a proper guide steps by step that maybe we can purchase?
When are you coming out with your online courses? Waiting patiently here haha!
Thank you so much for the informative video can you please make a video on how to teach your protection dog to come down to people you trust

Make a signal with your off hand to the decoy so he knows when the puppy barely barks
After they got the hang of it, how do you avoid them from doing it to regular people out on the street, is there a command?
Great video as always!
My 12 week old pup does this to the tenth power. Where is the off switch? I'm gonna need a "do not look at" instead of a "do not pet" velcro patch
where do you get the gear you use for your puppy bite development? Thanks
can a dog have a moderate prey drive and an excellent defense drive?

Question, How do you keep your dog from wanting to kill everyone on the street once you teach them this kind of decoy aggression ? Thanks
Great content. So interesting.
I would use hand signals if you can't use audio equipment to transmit it.
Awesome information, thank you.
That last dog was not having it 😂
Is there a reason why my puppy shows more protective instincts at night time?

Train him in obedience and also toy drive test him see if he's confident to okay with you.
i have a 3 months old rottweiler and he s friendly with everyone, how do i make him more protective

That cow hock doesn't effect performance?

But what happens if he encounters normal every day people in a civil environment that may Spook him
Just going through your old videos Haz and now just realised Justin Rigney stole your boogeyman idea. 😶🌫️
