This is for the car wizard. I am a retired ac service man that was there when they converted from. R12. To R134. The compressor may still have R12 fittings with R134 inside of it. Some people bought cheap home kits and did improper conversions.
Your detailing guy has been my favorite addition recently. Really brings a bit of finality to the cars and he’s clearly a good dude. Once they look this good you should go on a brief adventure with your finished cars!
I think it’s the got the wrong spoiler on , I’ve owned 2 mtech 2 e30 325 sports in the uk ( one white one red) Both had the same spoiler, hoovies one has mtech 1 kit , should be a little tiny ducktail i think
Just a suggestion: It’d be great to have before and after video clips of your cars before the detail and after it. Stuart does phenomenal work, and I’d love to see the E30 what it looked like before the detail in the same video. Obviously, I could rewatch your prior videos of the E30, but just a little suggestion. Absolutely beautiful work!
hoovie, i feel like you have really got a good formula going. seeing the wizards reaction to cars you bring and explaining the little details in the fixes they do and then seeing the cars come back to life at vango is the cherry on top. just pure gratifying pleasure and it is great to see you prop up the people around you.

The IS a helluva transformation and the guys who worked on this must be able to turn water into wine because they friggin did a miracle!

Yeah it's absolutely beautiful. But any decent detailer is able to produce these results. The paint simply needed a decent polishing. Like no to minimize the work because it's long hard work and it's perfect. It's just that's what properly detailing a car is.

Since the car was recently "built" for the purpose of selling at auction, the A/C system may be the newer R1234YF, and not R134a. The ports look almost identical, but are slightly different, and standard R134a connectors will not work. Good luck!
I had same problem when I need to refill 2016 Jaguar F pace AC - looks same size ports but definitely not same… and R134Y gas more expensive then R134a Under the bonnet was also sticker R134Y but like always: looking the sticker only then when not understand why hoses not fit 😀

The BMW turned out pretty nice. You can really tell how much pride Stewart has in his work. The guy does some amazing work. I wish he was close to me so I could take my Silverado and have it detailed. It's so much fun watching guys who absolutely love their job.

As far as the AC service ports. It’s possible they may have installed a 1234YF system. Those service ports look similar, and 134A fittings fit loose on them.
If I had to take a guess, the air conditioning was added sometime in the 1980s or '90s, likely shortly after the vehicle came off of its racing career. The cynic in me says that the system was put to factory standards at the time, and it is using R12.
The E30 looks amazing, even the badges look brand new (I don't know if they did anything to them, but maybe the paint made them pop better?) Considering all the projects Freddie is involved in I'd be willing to bet he hasn't even touched the Audi.
I'm not a fan of matte finishes on cars, but damn... that 458 look absolutely stunning with the matte wrap on the red paint. I know you already have a wizzard, but the work you keep showing from vango looks like magic.
I'm shocked, shocked I say! That Tyler managed to find a Superbird to buy equipped with the finest Chinese aftermarket air conditioning system that can be bought. Those ports are made of the finest chinesium available to man.

When I restored my Zinnoberrot E30 the paint turned out amazing. You scored with the engine. Mine had all the dried cosmoline all over the engine. Fortune to pull all of it off and have it blasted and put back on.
I worked for a BMW dealership in 1987 and remember prepping them for the showroom. These cars drove so well and had plenty of power. My favorite, aside from the M5, was the 3 series.
I've experienced R134a service valve fitting issues on a couple of vehicles. I had to try about 3 or 4 different adapters to find one that would fit. I never figured out exactly what the problem was. Fortunately I had several spare adapters and found one to fit.
Yeah it's worth more now after putting more into it. But that's what he does. And we know what he does and his odds. But I can bet you his made good money on this one. And although he makes a lot of money on RUclips and other ventures it's nice to see him also not loose so much money on some of these builds. Go hoovie

That's exactly what I thought but I didn't think any of those aftermarket kits used that new system yet.
Most manufacturers didn't start using r1234yf till 2018, I doubt the aftermarket a/c is that setup...

The A/C charge ports on the Superbird look like the might be the new r1234f instead of r134a.

r1234yf and yeah, they're taller but still the high side shouldn't fit at all, even loosely
Just contact the manufacturer of the aftermarket kit. Perhaps they sell adapters. Looks like there is room to use one.

You can run two spark plug anti foulers on the elbow, it will give some more clearance so the 02 doesn’t get fouled. Cel will be gone.

Experimenting with a range of inline resistors might bring the temperature guage in the Superbird reasonably close to the real temperature.
Or just solder in a potentiometer. So you can get it accurately adjusted, without constant resoldering
