I was truly surprised by Cartman at the end. I really thought after that heartfelt speculation Cartman would pause for a moment and then say something like: “Fuck you Stan.” Before tossing the pangolin in the shredder
Yh this was the first time cartman did something selfless. All the other times were benifitting him in one way or another but this was the first time he wasn't tricked, it ruined his fun and he did willingly.

Cartman and Stan honestly were like the difference between introverts and extroverts during the pandemic.
Where introverts were happy to be home and not get out, while extroverts were having panic attacks not being able to leave their house.
Were people really not allowed to leave their house and live normal lives in the US? That's insane.
Also that's not really what intro-and extroverted means.
@@volundrfrey896nobody was getting arrested for leaving their house in the US. all (non-essential, which is a pretty loose term tbh) businesses were closed, so (to most people) there was nothing to do. but, no, people weren’t forced by their government to stay in their homes.

I tried my best to appreciate 2020. I felt like Cartman because I finally had an excuse to not see people. Work pretty much shut down so I did my best to appreciate the time with my 4 year old who I had to home school. And due to Covid we got to have to Thanksgiving at home. No traveling. I made a big dinner for the four of us and we got to stay home all day. It was magical.
I love how Randy's weed business is basically South Park as a whole. "People are dying and you're making a SPECIAL??" 🤣

2020 was definitely a goldmine of content for South Park ! Humanity at its finest !
Things were crazy during that time period for sure. Up was down and down was up and there was propaganda coming at us from all directions to the point that all trust in the media dissipated. Made a lot of us realize that the truth is only the truth if the powers that be and their advertisers deem it as such.
I'll never forget watching the NFL empty stadium games and seeing dozens of ads "Brought to you by Pfizer" during it all and the crazies who went around my block telling my family to get the jabs. One of my neighbors even offered to buy my wife and I donuts and a coffee if we went with her to get the shots. The same lady even invited us to a block party where masks and proof of vaccination was shown.
Just completely bonkers in every way.
As someone from a Japanese background, where wearing face masks is pretty common, it was pretty fascinating and funny to watch America make such a big deal out of wearing masks lmao
As someone with occidental background I can say it wasn't so much the use of the mask but the imposition and the violation of civil liberties.

Vaccination special is also very good, it's the ending of season 24 i think. Maybe also worth a watch before you go to post COVID: the return of COVID .
Less important than the pandemic special but you will miss out on some references when you haven't seen the vaccination special too.

I consider the post covid specials as part of season 24 just like I consider the streaming wars specials as season 25 they are just stuck on a different service and categorized as special events
He needs to just start around Season 6 when South Park shifted from stand alone episodes to over arching season long stories and watch through in order.

The Panderverse special on Paramount+ was soooooo goooood, and it's going into a 3-part event that will bleed into the new year, when Disney loses intellectual rights to Mickey Mouse. It's an insane ride, thus far.

@@kevinb5417Yep. The Mickey Mouse many know and love is still under copyright and will remain so until at least 2030. Even if one were to use the Steamboat Willie version of Mickey, should they try to create their own brand by doing so, Disney can still pursue legal action.

So someone once did a psychological study on population reactions during pandemics throughout history. The TLDR is that people in masses tend to, under such circumstances, cut themselves off from what they perceive as different. Basically they go "us or them" mentality and separate themselves from foreigners, those acting different, et cetera, because they are unknown factors and could expose you to whatever it may be. So in other words, more so fuel to the fire (even if its only a spark) than an actual new issue.
Yeah when trump said it was a hoax it was all over from there. Making right wingers severely antagonize anyone who followed the regulations (i remember a whole week where poor teenage restaurant hosts were being assaulted by 40yo men ffs) and get off as being "one of the enlightened" while those who followed went through what you said.
But for real, its literally all the time (us vs them), covid was just the one time one side actually doubled down on getting people killed lol

In Canada, during our lockdowns, all the weed and liquor stores were considered essential businesses and remained open throughout.
Not to mention some of the sale limitations were dumb. It's almost like they considered short term/immediate population control over long term health when it came to recreational substances. My own politicians decided gardening was a no no until at least May, despite being outdoors in the sun more would help a person's physical and mental health.
Same in parts of US. It was even allowed for Uber eats and door dash to deliver alcohol

With the direction Disney has taken in the last decade, I think South Park needs to do an episode where Mr. Mouse wasn't always a greedy, heartless bastard, representing the time in which Disney delighted families, and then set up a Plot Twist in which the current Mr. Mouse is just an imposter and killed the real Mr. Mouse, which is meant to represent the real magic Disney once had and was destroyed by what it has now.

I've been re-watching so much South Park lately and there are so many funny episode that I hope are on the horizon for this channel. Just to name a few: Handicars, Time To Get Cereal, Nobody Got Cereal and the episode before this one which is called Christmas Snow.

Pandemic added fuel to the fire in my opinion. This country was already divided before anyone knew it was.
I was in my junior year of highschool when we went into lockdown. Like half of my classes stopped assigning work. And the rest barely assigned any work. But less than half the students did any work, but they still went to the next grade. It was so bad that the entire first half of senior year was just review. We never even finished our curriculums but still graduated

Media workers - like Me - were also Essential Workers. I actually lost my job when my paper closed down for months, but was lucky enough to find a new one. It was Very strange to be one of the very few people allowed to work and be out in public for a long time, but it was essential work.

I think the fact that they had Craig's and Butter's dads switch positions regarding the mask was making fun of how people switched their positions on masks between like January and July depending on whether Trump or the democrats were pushing it at the time.
That sound in the hall, was a pig sound when captured. And Cartman (pig) was captured in the hall and forced into class.
