    What do you use for music distribution and pre-save links? Any more tips?

    Thank you for a clear video. I am in my first steps of digital distribution and thanks to this video I already managed to publish my first single via CDBABY... they should pay some comission.. :-) Thanks!

    Great video! I was wondering if it was my pre save that was not correct. Cause definitely the permissions scared people! Good idea to explain that on the messages.

    This was a very helpful video. I look forward to having a look over your other work. If you don't mind, I do have one question about CD Baby. Like you, I've uploaded a song for my band in my personal CD Baby account, with the band's name as the artist, and the three of us have equal songwriting credits. My question is: does CD Baby funnel all royalties through me as the one who put up the song, or do each of the songwriters need to also have a CD Baby account to receive the one-third share of royalties. Cheers, Joey

      Thanks. For my band all gets paid to one account. So the band members do not need a CD Baby account. I believe CD Baby does not have a way to distribute the royalties between band members like Distrokid does. ruclips.net/video/FAeBolUeme4/видео.html

      @@LanewoodStudios Thanks for the prompt reply. That makes sense, and is probably the way I would like to operate it, so when I state all the songwriting contributions, I can mark the other two as: don't collect royalties for them, but does that necessarily mean that 100% is paid into the bank account attached to my username? What is confusing me is that I have stated that I only contributed 33.3% to songwriting, so it seems to me that they will only pay 33.3%. I hope the question is clear, thanks in anticipation. Joey

      @@rollddb well, as I understand it there are two income streams here. One is from how many times the tracks were streamed on the various platforms. CD Baby collects that money and deposits it to the linked bank account (or paypal) that you provided. This is independant of who was the songwriter.
      The other income stream is from the songwriter credits and rights. For us, that money is collected by our music rights association in the Netherlands Buma/Stemra and happens outside of CD Baby. I think they collect directly from Spotify/Apple Music/etc.
      However, it is now also possible to select the total monetization option at CD Baby (which is more expensive), in which case that second income stream is also handled by CD Baby. This is how I understand it at least. How they deal with that money in relation to your song writing credit share I'm not sure.

    Im having trouble understanding exactly what the 'google tracking analytics code is' (Where it comes from) Can u help me??

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  6 месяцев назад

      You don’t need to use it but if you want you can register at Google analytics, and generate one of those tracking codes. Then you can see when that web page is visited, from where, etc.

    Hi. Can you help on how to get your music to facebook. My single was released in 2018and it's set for FB on my dashboard but it doesn't come up on Facebook search button. Why is that?

      Not sure about that but check this: support.cdbaby.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029734192-Opting-in-or-out-RUclips-Content-ID-and-Facebook-Instagram-Monetization. Otherwise I would contact CD Baby and ask them.

    How do you set up google analytics and facebook tracking as you showed while doing your pre-save? I've got no clue how to do this and can't find the answers.

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  21 день назад

      @@RebeccaWillisMusic that’s probably two separate videos in itself 😁. But many others have made those already. For example setting up a Facebook pixel has been covered extensively on this channel @AndrewSouthworth.

      @@LanewoodStudios thanks, I'll check that out. Can you recommend a good one for google analytics for an indie artist? I really couldn't find anything up to date as it seems impossible to get a UA number anymore. I just had to skip the analytics for my pre-save.

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  21 день назад

      @RebeccaWillis-m7b I’ll have to have a look. They recently phased out the UA analytics at Google replacing it with a new type. Not sure CD Baby pre-saves are ready for that though. It’s the less important of the two as well I feel.
