The man dancing in the orange hat. The wheelchairs , my goodness Coretta Scott King, brought tears to my eyes! Stevie Wonder in 1983, when I graduated from high school, I remember MLK was not yet a holiday! This song stays on my mind! ❤Stevie Wonder
tho i was not there then, i can imagine what it was like to BE THERE THEN and my heart soars at the thought. i can never get through this song w/o welling up embarrassingly. lotsa MLK love to yazall...it could be all our birthdays today! bless you howard mortman for posting this! and one more thing: STEVIE FOR PRESIDENT! (tho i wouldn't wish it on him, it's just what comes up for me when i see him singing this precious song he wrote for our dear Dr. Martin Luther King).
I didn't know this history of MLK day until reading about it today, Stevie Wonder what a legend! When this was recorded, they didn't yet know if MLK would be a federal holiday, signed into law just months later after a years long campaign and this wonderful hit song to support the cause! Heard the song from when I was young but didn't understand the backstory.
Coretta was so beautiful an so down to earth. Stevie we love you an this the only song I want sung for m birthday . I went to UPO MLK breakfast an it was amazing however theres a lot of work still need to be done in the world. Much love to the King Family blessingd ❤keep the good fight.
"happy birthday to you" “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” Change takes a long time, but it does happen. TY Stevie for helping to make this celebration happen. Unfortunately as things change they remain the same. I do hope justice wins; a president leading White Nationalists starting in 2016 disgusts me.
Thank you sincerely for posting this! The best, thank you so much! Beautiful🎉🎉🎉🎉
It’s a shame we had to work so hard for this to happen when Christopher Columbus got a holiday for nothing.
