WATCH: Hundreds bid farewell to Dorraine Samuels

- April 15, 2019: It was a tearful, yet celebrant send off for long-time broadcaster Dorraine Samuels at the University Chapel in Kingston. Samuels, 59, died last month from pancreatic cancer.
I lost my mom in 2017 and when I came home and I was listening to her death announcement on the radio, I ask my sister Isn't that Dorriane Samuels, I was shock to know that she's still with the radio station after so many years. This lady is a sure legend because we all grew up listening to her in our homes. We miss you Dorriane now that your race is finally over, rest in peace and sleep well.
A lady who made it possible for me today, she spoke eloquently and maintained her professionalism throughout her career. RIP

I did not know that Dorraine Samuels had died. Wow! I remember when she entered Ms. Jamaica and placed 5th. Of course, I remember her also as a radio announcer.
