    Awesome review of an awesome buggy, Fil! I totally agree with all the points you made about this one, the design is pretty radical for an entry level kit and the plastics are of great quality. Mine has a 13.5T brushless setup and runs so smoothly. Nothing broken in over 4 years of bashing!!! So I can say I'm really chuffed with mine! Take care dude! 😎👊👍

      No breakages in 4 years? Now that's pretty impressive! This buggy is tough, and such a blast to drive. Glad to hear yours is holding up so well, Mark. 👊🏼

    Great looking and builded car. Thanks for showing.
    Tamiya has a racing class for the DT-03. Especial for beginners with the cars in stock version. Maybe that's the reason for the low price, too.

    Excellent, buddy! It is indeed an excellent buggy, I know I love mine, I have three of them, ha ha! I saw you posted to the facebook group, too, lots of good knowledge in that group to be had. Best two tips are probably to add some weight to the front to eliminate understeer, and to chop away bit of the gearbox to ensure more airflow around the motor... And now I know 100 percent for certain your name is Fil!
    Have a great weekend there, my friend, looking forward to seeing a run video with it, too!

    Love the DT-03 my daughter has one and it's great fun. She is running the sport tuned and CVA shocks and it's more than enough for the backyard. 17t must be fairly fast? Look great keep up the good work.

      Nice, it's perfect for a beginner. Mine is fairly quick on 17t, but nothing too crazy. I'm tempted to try it on 3S.

    I picked up the dt03t, shortened the chassi, made mounts for it to take a Scorcher shell and put Blitzer Beetle tires on it for modernized+cheap Blitzer. Nice and simple to work on :)

    • @poorboysrc
      @poorboysrc  Год назад

      Very cool idea! Probably handles 10x better than the OG Scorcher all day long, too! 👍🏻

      How did U shorten the chassis, and why? Just for the shell?

    • @zid_just_zid
      @zid_just_zid 24 дня назад

      @@LassoKid7777 Surprisingly enough i used a saw :P Took out the right amount from the battery compartment to get the wheelbase right, stitched it back together again with strong steel wire shored up with epoxy. Yeah, as i wrote i wanted a more modern chassi with easily available and cheap spare parts. Having done a DT02 before i liked that gearbox, the same is used on the DT03.

    Dt03 is a good reliable buggy . The only issues I’ve had is the servo saver failing,so you might want to get the hop up one from Tamiya because it will fail . I have 4 of them and all of them have failed unfortunately. There are a couple of other hop ups that you’ll need if you jump it a lot . The gear box bridge and aluminum servo mount are must haves . Turned out nice , ready for a good bash .

    • @poorboysrc
      @poorboysrc  Год назад +1

      Ah, fantastic advice! Thanks Eric! I'll order up those hop ups this weekend. Is there a specific servo saver you can point me to? 👊

    Colors look great! I left the sides of teh body a bit lower on mine, it covers the chassis a bit more. And forget about the sway bar option, it doesn't seem to do anything, even with the stiffest bar, money wasted.
