    I have these skates in a different color and the break in statement is true. I broke them in by my second ride. The bearings they come with aren't fast but perfect for beginners or people who might be rusty like myself. I'm impressed with them. Pretty nice for cheaper skates.

    • @IntergalacticMotoBandits

      So glad you had a similar experience with them! I've never broken in a pair of skates so quickly 😂 Usually its a couple of weeks with blisters.

      Did you find them tight to start with? Mines arrived today and I’m unsure if they’ll loosen a little or if I should size up 😅

    • @IntergalacticMotoBandits
      @IntergalacticMotoBandits  2 года назад

      @@vickyc2419 Mine fit very snug when I first put them on and they have pretty much stayed that way😂 I just wear regular calf socks instead of really thick ones that I would typically wear to skate. But if they feel uncomfortable now, might be best to size up while you still can.

    Just to let everyone know since I am a USA 6.5 don’t listen to the Impala website when it says to size up the size 7 compared to the size 6 is humongous like it makes the size 6 look like a baby skate.
    In-line skates you want it to be tight you don’t want it where your foot is moving around.

  • @MminaMaclang
    @MminaMaclang 2 года назад +2

    I was advised not to get them because the materials aren't as durable and was told to just go directly for aggressive skates. For a person who is mostly just into cruising and some artistic skating, would you think that these are good skates or should we look at higher level skates instead?

    • @IntergalacticMotoBandits
      @IntergalacticMotoBandits  2 года назад +1

      That's interesting! For mixing cruising and artistic, my go-to has always been Rec skates. I would traditionally wear inline skates from Roces and Rollerblade. Price-wise, these skates are comparable and I think a lot of brands these days a sacrificing some durability to be more competitive on price. I've had really good luck with the durability of the Impalas, but their #1 feature is the retro look and colorways. So, if quality materials/durability is your main goal, I would look for a high-end pair of Rec skates. If you love the look of the Impalas, I think you will pleasantly surprised by the durability and comfort👍

      100% yes! When I bought these I hadn't skated in forever and I really appreciated the high ankle support. They also don't go super fast which could be a downside for some, but as a beginner it is a plus. (Also they do come with a brake, I just didn't install mine)

    • @IntergalacticMotoBandits

      For recreational wheels, they handle the asphalt really well I think, but they are definitely better suited to concrete. If you are going to primarily skate on asphalt, it may be best to swap out the wheels for something softer and more forgiving on rocks and such.

    If I changed the wheels , can the speed be increased ?

    • @IntergalacticMotoBandits
      @IntergalacticMotoBandits  3 года назад +1

      To some extent yes, if you splurge on the wheels/bearings I think you will feel a difference. Also they come with 70mm wheels, but you can change them out for 72mm. I have always skated in 80mm wheels and would use them for distance/exercise. These definitely require more effort to get up to that speed! I am considering upgrading my wheels, so if I do I'll definitely post an update on how they feel👍

      Straight out of the box they were decently quiet, but I have since run them through sand, puddles, etc. and of course that has impacted their speed/noise level. Depending on your skate preferences it may not be a bad idea to swap out the bearings. Hope this helps!

    I really want to purchase a pair of these. I am worried about the arch. Does it burn? Or are they wobbly?
    I bought a pair of Mongoose blades from the thrift store and they are so wobbly. I feel like a new born baby deer when I'm skating in them. They hurt so bad. I put my nieces cheap blades on and they were awesome. I am just wondering how they feel and if they are stable. Thank you!

    • @IntergalacticMotoBandits
      @IntergalacticMotoBandits  3 года назад +2

      Oh my gosh I completely know that feeling!!! You are not alone, haha. The Impala's fit really, really snug. I have high arches and poor ankle stability and the Impala boot seems to just wrap everything up tight and hold it. I thought maybe that would get uncomfortable on long skates but for some reason I don't tend to get blisters or anything like that unless I'm wearing thin socks. All that to say, I think in comparison to the Mongoose blades, you are probably going to feel more secure. Oh and also, I have found cheap blades can feel and handle really well when they are new! They just don't last unfortunately 🙃
