Fun fact: Globe, who owns Impala, started life as Hardcore Enterprises. That company was the original distributor of Rollerblade in Australia back in the 90's.
My boyfriend got me these in pink for my 32nd birthday this year and it was such a beautiful and thoughtful gift. Total throwback to my childhood and it’s been fun learning how to skate again ❤️
This was a great review! I’m getting back into skating for the first time in about 15 years and bought a pair of these after seeing your review!! They arrived today and I’m really thrilled, they are sturdy and they feel “safe” - hopefully once I get back into it, I can upgrade to something that allows a little more speed and flexibility, but I’m really happy with my purchase!!
I actually just received the pink ones in the mail today! I was an active rollerblader as a child and it felt as if I was picking up where I left off as a child! They were kinda slow but I’m still breaking them in and they allowed me to move at a comfortable speed!
@@pattiistar yeah lol, I have been using ones with 110mm wheels since 12 and they go a lot faster than normal ones so I was mainly looking for speed since I’m not new to blades but wanted something better looking than most rollerblades, I ended up getting the k2 sodo ones tho lol
They are 70mm AND plus they are bery soft for that size. 80a is usually for at least a 80/88mm like my old skate. So for sure they feel slow. BUT you can actually insert a 76mm in the impala skates!(if the size is over 40EU) so I think you could buy those apart. Or at least buy a thougher pair of wheels cause if you stat doing some intermediate trcks they ruin very fast
I finally took the plunge and purchased my first pair of inlines since my childhood Sonic the hedgehog ones got too small as a kid. It's been a while but I fell inlove with the impala line and it re lit the spark I had as a youngster for the sport. I can't wait till they get delivered. Thank you for your review!
Just what I needed!!! I'm a beginner and I'm worried about going too fast. Awesome that you said this will be a great beginner-pair! Will be purchasing bwahahahh
I think given the low price-point and the low speed, these make for a decent enough starter skate for people on a budget. Not sure if you can get something significantly better in the price range. Any suggestions for helping them feel a bit better? Upgrading from the stock wheels and bearings?
Thank you. This is perfect because I am technically a beginner to inline skating even though I used to skate when I was a kid. I'm looking to buy these exact skates secondhand from someone and I wanted to have some knowledge beforehand if they will be good for me as a beginner 😊
Man, I still have my Roces from like 94' or 95' I recently cleaned it but the shoes are a bit broken down now. I might try these just for casual skating outside to have fun. Haven't skated in years!
omg that reminds me of my Rollerblade Lightening TRS from 1993! Not structurally sound anymore sadly. Looking to buy a new pair of blades, it's been a while.
hey, I've been wondering, is this good for absolute beginners? I know how to ice skate pretty decently, and I've heard that roller blades/inlines are almost the same thing except that you have to shift your brake to the heel, shifting balance. I want to get these really badly, but i don't want to waste money on something i might not like. My mother says i can get these someplace cheaper
Hey. If you’re good at ice skating you should pick up inline very quickly. If you really like these skates I’d go for. Just changing the wheels and bearings should improve their speed a lot if you find them too slow. No other skate looks as cool as these so they’re a great choice.
@@BrandonDrummond I have been ice skating since I was 4 and I own the impala skates in pink and they are super difficult to turn on. I also noticed the tounge of the skate dosen't push in. Is it just my skates?
I wanna add, these are really good for beginners looking for recreational skating. I wouldn’t suggest using it for speed skating since it says on the box it’s for recreation purposes. I got the green flower power ones and they are really nice to use especially when you’re learning how to skate and I do love them ;D
@ they’re type 84a wheels which means they are great indoors and outdoors.over cracks they are fine and on bumps too. But if the surface is really bumpy it will feel a bit rough when skating. I’ve skated on some really bumpy surfaces and it hasn’t been too bad. And ofc it’s just getting used to the surface since after awhile it felt quite normal. Hope that helps!

Great video! I roller bladed and ice skated a TON as a kid and I'm looking to get a pair to bum around in. Based on your review I know the speed is going to be a issue (I'm hoping to keep pace with a bike). I'm not looking to do tricks or anything but I don't wan to be dragging ass. I grew up using inline skates. But couldn't find any pretty as an adult so bought impala roller skates, they're absolutely fkn terrifying. Tried to learn, traumatised. Thinking of purchasing inline skates cause I know I was very comfortable with them as a kid.
@@miumiuthecat7167 roller skates are harder to skate with than inline skates (it’s easier to tip over when you’re wearing roller skates because of how the wheels are placed). You can find a little better of an explanation on google but yeah.
Yes they will be fine skating on any surface. But the rougher the surface is the more your wheels will wear. So worse case you'll just need to buy some new wheels at some point.
I like these as possibly my beginner blades after growing up blading, ice skating, and currently using quads. Would a harder wheel help with speed? Also, what is a similar skate that would have better agility?
80A durometer wheels? Wheels that soft roll slow compared to aggressive style rock hard jobs. I have some of these skates on order for my daughter. I appreciate the review.
Wheels that soft roll slow compared to anything. 80A is for indoors. Really really cheap skates come with +82A nowadays, it's no wonder he feels they're slow with soft big wheels in a slim plastic frame.
Great for a beginner though, slower, stickier, probably good traction. The aesthetic is super important too I think. Just look at what’s popular in quads...
The FRX 80s www.locoskates.com/collections/best-sellers-rollerblades/products/fr-skates-frx-80 Or the Mirco Mt Plus. These skates are amazing! The Micros are just a cheaper version of the FRs. These are my favorite skates to skate out of all the skates I've ever skated.
Do these skates live up? If a better alternative that skaters recommend is going to cost me and extra couple hundred, then I'd rather get these. I feel like I'm honestly looking for a middle ground set of being less beginner like these with more mobility and faster, but not professional enough for them to be a challenge to learn (I'm an intermediate skater) and not cost me an arm and a leg?
If you are looking for skates that look similar but are higher quality (& fast) check out the Roces 1992 line of skates. They'll be much higher quality. instagram.com/p/CMuwCdJrNet/
So what skates would you reccomend with a good aluminum frame? I only reallyyyyy skate at the rink but I WANT to skate on the street and eventually do tricks n skate ramps n shit.
Of course this implies that you don't reccomend them but j realize you seemed to think they were a good beginner option. While I'm not well versed in skating but definitely not new.
The Impala frames are not designed to come off. You would have to drill them out and modify the skate a lot to get trinity frames to fit. I wouldn't recommend
ya skates are pretty slow, but without chopping out the plastic frame, would changing the bearings/wheels help? if so, what are some good recommendations.
Yes I thick changing wheels and bearings would help a lot. 50/50 bearings are a great cheap option, compass wheels are great too. If you can afford ceramic bearings, Project Go makes very good ones.
Hello! I just bought a pair and am also finding them to be quite slow. Question - do you think if I switched out the bearings for something like Bones Reds they would speed up?
I dont know if you're going to see this, but im currently trying to find a new skate to transition to. I currently skate for recreational purposes and fitness, having used the Rollerblade advantage pro xt. Which out of the 2 skates would you prefer? I would generally go for something that's pretty good with speed (nothing too fancy though since my parents buy me skates). I was then thinking of buying the macroblade (from rollerblade), but I'm still interested in these skates (the impalas)...any insight?
Hey, thanks for the comment! I would recommend the Rollerblade Macroblade over the Impalas for you. The Impalas will be a lot slower then the Macroblades. Impalas are more for the person who skates for 20min a month. I hope that helps! Keep rolling!
If i'm 22.5-23 cm with big socks I should order 5 or 6 ? I'm mostly 36 EUR in shoes... in my vans I'm 5.5 (35 EUR) Please help me I'm afraid I'll get the wrong size 🙏 🙏
I’m a beginner and I think these will be great as a first pair of skates but I I find the lack of speed a bother is there anything I can do to upgrade? :)
You could get new wheels and bearings but the skate itself is most of the problem. Keep in mind they arn't terribly slow, they're just slower than more advanced skates. At a beginner level you probably won't even notice. These are a great first skate. Welcome to rollerblading!
I bought a eu 45 but I’m a us 11 men’s , would they fit ? kinda confused on the sizing thing , great vid . Gave an honest review . Couldn’t ask for any better 👍🏽
As Karen said, The skates come with a brake, I just didn't attach it. If you don't want to use the brake theres other techniques. I have a video teaching you them all here: ruclips.net/video/0hxM74GG2H4/видео.html
Use there sizing chart. impalaskate.com.au/collections/inline-skates/products/impala-lightspeed-inline-skate-blackberry Measure your foot in CM to be safe. Otherwise just go up 2 sizes.
You won't be able to grinds on these without destroying them. But if all you want to do is ride ramps and air tricks, these will be fine. Plus they look the coolest 🔥🔥🔥
Hi! Thank you for doing this review! 😃 I am trying to learn how to skate but I don’t know anything about skates 😅 I was looking at this ones because they are cute, but I feel like that’s the wrong reason to buy them, with your review I feel like they might be for me (?) but is it bad that the bottom it’s plastic? I will fall for sure and it looks like it might break or something, because yours look a little scratched when you showed them (but again, I know nothing about skates haha). Is there any other skate you could recommend for a beginner?
Both the frame and the wheels are the problem. So yes it would help. But if you really want some faster skates I'd recommend going for some else completely.
Thanks! It’s a bummer because I love the retro 90’s look like that but want a really good skate. I surf skate and decided to try roller skates but realized inline skates are way more fun than quads.
Emilia Oim there are a lot of great options for urban skating. How much are you looking to spend? Id recommend looking through inline warehouse’s urban skate section and researching skates that you think look cool. If you are an absolute beginner, id say don’t get tempted to get a 3x110, and stick to 4x80 wheels. Some good options off the top of my head are seba frx, micro mt plus, powerslide imperial one, or rollerblade cruiser. There are a lot so to recommend one id need your budget
Can you make a review for the oxelo street 5? Please, I want to start aggressive skate, but it's very expensive and I wanted to start with a cheap ones
Just don't buy them. Aggressive skates are expensive because of the material and engineering put into them. Oxelo just took the old Salomon design and made the skates out of it, using cheap plastic. These skates are not gonna last long.
hi i from Taiwan, i real want to but this, but i have two problem 1.Can the men wear IMPALA ROLLERSKATES - BLACK this? 2.how is their size? I am 27.5cm, which US size should i choose big thx
Hey. 1. Yes men can wear them. 2. Try a size US 13. To be extra sure, message Impala rollerskates on Instagram @impalarollerskates. They'll tell you what size to get. I hope that helps. Thanks for the question 🙏
Valerie Kiper I watched a video after this where someone swapped out the soul plate and turned them into aggressive inlines😲 if you want to see it I’ll find the link. I thought it was really cool
I just ordered these, I am hoping since I am awful at any kind of skating it will be okay they’re a bit slow. Lol I don’t want anything fast I think I will hurt myself!
Metal frames are much faster and more responsive than plastic ones. Once you skate metal frames its hard to go back to plastic. Plastic is best for more high impact skating like aggressive skating. But at a beginner level it wouldn't make much difference either way.
Great review! I’ve had a bad experience with K2s being too tight on the top plastic bearing as my lower calf is rather thick. Do you feel like the strap allows enough room for someone with a different body style beginner?
I bought these and I’ve been trying to figure out how to change the bearings , is it possible ? They seem like they are cemented in, they have a spacer in them I can’t seem to get out , def not as easy as changing longboard bearings
Hey. I just check mine out and saw the weird spacer they have in them. That is not normal for any other inline skates. Those spacers are terrible. You can get the bearings out by pushing the spacer as far as I know. But it is very hard to do. I would recommend just getting new bearings. Most inline skates spacers don't go the whole way through. I hope you manage to get them out!
That depends on the style of skating they want to do. For casual skating around I'd reccomend the Impala light speeds. For Urban or Salom I'd reccomend the Mirco Mt Plus And for aggressive i'd reccomend these kids Kaltiks: shredcityskates.com/collections/aggressive-trick-kids-skates/products/kaltik-k-skate-jr-with-stealth-frames-blue

I was literally in the same boat as you until I stumbled upon Impala’s website, I didn’t even know they sold inlines. I’m hesitant to buy some bc of the quality, though. I’ve checked every website that sells inlines and it seems like these are the best you can get rn 😫

The Impala frames are not designed to come off. You would have to drill them out and modify the skate a lot to get trinity frames to fit. I wouldn't recommend
Would you suggest these or the Roces 1992?
Great video! If I wear a size US 10.5 should I get a size 11?
Cheers. I would go for a 11.5 if that exists. Or try them on first. they're in a lot of skate shops.
Hi brandon. Im a beginner in inline skates. Is this skates suitable to play on the road?
ya skates are pretty slow, but without chopping out the plastic frame, would changing the bearings/wheels help? if so, what are some good recommendations.
Hey. Yes This would speed them up. Switching the wheels would help too.
@@BrandonDrummond awesome, what wheels would you suggest??
as a rule of thumb, harder wheels will be faster
So how do you feel these would do recreationally in a rink? That’s what I would want them for, I wouldn’t hit pavement with these much.
They will do best in a rink. They'll be smooth and easy. That's probably the best place for these skates.
yea you definitely have got to try and put souls and frames on them like @Thisissoul skateshop did!
IDC who hates on me. Brandon is beautiful I love watching his videos. So intelligent an handsome :) much love to you Brandon
They look like something that would be sold at Toys R Us or Walmart lol
The Inline skates looks like a toy but the roller skates look super cool
If i'm 22.5-23 cm with big socks I should order 5 or 6 ? I'm mostly 36 EUR in shoes... in my vans I'm 5.5 (35 EUR)
Please help me I'm afraid I'll get the wrong size 🙏 🙏
Did they fit?
So if I’m a 10 1/2 in mens US, what would be the recommended skate size?
Very helpful!
Heyyy thanks for the review!! I'd like to get exactly the same one😍 Where did you get yours?
How do you stop?
It comes with a detachable stop for the heel, but lots of people keep it off and use stopping maneuvers like a T stop instead.
As Karen said, The skates come with a brake, I just didn't attach it. If you don't want to use the brake theres other techniques. I have a video teaching you them all here: ruclips.net/video/0hxM74GG2H4/видео.html
i have this is in size 38 can 76mm wheels fit?
Hii, thank you for this review! What brand would you recommend that’s light and fast?
Thanks for watching! These Roces would be best! shop.roces.com/en/1992-4506.html Same vibe as the impalas but a much better skate!
If you wear a size 10, What should I order since they are in women’s sizes
Use there sizing chart. impalaskate.com.au/collections/inline-skates/products/impala-lightspeed-inline-skate-blackberry Measure your foot in CM to be safe.
Otherwise just go up 2 sizes.
Do you think it's possible to buy different frames to put on them?
Do you think it’s possible to learn tricks in these? Or do you only recommend them for casual skating.
You won't be able to grinds on these without destroying them. But if all you want to do is ride ramps and air tricks, these will be fine. Plus they look the coolest 🔥🔥🔥
@@BrandonDrummond Would you recommend replacing the wheels with larger ones? I’d definitely love to be able to go farther and faster.
Are these just rebranded Roces FCO Romes?
Would a wheel update improve the drag with skates? Or is it the frame that’s the problem?
Both the frame and the wheels are the problem. So yes it would help. But if you really want some faster skates I'd recommend going for some else completely.
Thanks! It’s a bummer because I love the retro 90’s look like that but want a really good skate. I surf skate and decided to try roller skates but realized inline skates are way more fun than quads.
Man I want some skates for beginners it's hard to choose I dont know much
What kind of skating were you wanting to do? Aggressive, Urban, Salome or just rec?
These or the Roces 1992? I cant decide if the Roces are worth the 50 EUR difference...
Roces will be much better quality! I'd go with them if you can.
hi i from Taiwan, i real want to but this, but i have two problem
1.Can the men wear IMPALA ROLLERSKATES - BLACK this?
2.how is their size? I am 27.5cm, which US size should i choose
big thx
Hey.
1. Yes men can wear them.
2. Try a size US 13.
To be extra sure, message Impala rollerskates on Instagram @impalarollerskates. They'll tell you what size to get.
I hope that helps. Thanks for the question 🙏
I wonder if you could switch the frame?
missSDW I’d also like to know if you could put bigger wheels in
Valerie Kiper I watched a video after this where someone swapped out the soul plate and turned them into aggressive inlines😲 if you want to see it I’ll find the link. I thought it was really cool
I just wanted to know if they were good for beginners. Are they good on bumpy roads?
They're great for beginners and will work on bumpy roads.
I just ordered these, I am hoping since I am awful at any kind of skating it will be okay they’re a bit slow. Lol I don’t want anything fast I think I will hurt myself!
Is it have the function that make it stop? Like.. idk how to explain
They come with a brake, if that is what you mean.
Brandon Drummond thanks
is plastic frame a bad thing?? is metal frame better in any way than the plastic frame??
Yeah. They're basically cheap garbage.
Hey can I ask if the wheels are rubber or plastic?
They're rubber with plastic cores.
I hope you manage to get them out!
good stuff
What would be a good beginner skate for a 11yr old
That depends on the style of skating they want to do.
For casual skating around I'd reccomend the Impala light speeds.
For Urban or Salom I'd reccomend the Mirco Mt Plus
And for aggressive i'd reccomend these kids Kaltiks: shredcityskates.com/collections/aggressive-trick-kids-skates/products/kaltik-k-skate-jr-with-stealth-frames-blue
What if you switch out the bearings
It's the wheels you'd want to change to make the most difference in this case, but I'm sure better bearings wouldn't hurt either
I am from Brazil how can I order one?
eu acho que não enviam para o Brasil. o site é impalaskate.com/
What skates do you originally skate with?
I aggressive skate on Roces M12s, I do all other types of skating on Micro MT Plus Skates. Both are amazing skates.
with the epidemic going on it seems like EVERY incline skate is sold out... I am looking for a nice white Incline skate... I saw SNOW WHITE incline, but not sure about the price if they are worth it. my 8yr old son plays hockey and just want something I can roll around with him, to help him with his speed and stick work. ugh. HELP!!
I was literally in the same boat as you until I stumbled upon Impala’s website, I didn’t even know they sold inlines. I’m hesitant to buy some bc of the quality, though. I’ve checked every website that sells inlines and it seems like these are the best you can get rn 😫
Can you put razor cult soul plates and tell me how the flex feels? Thisissoul (I think) did it, but didnt test it.
Love the vids on these, nice review! Brandon I've got a few questions about these good sir!
-Do you have any suggestions on an alternative to this skate for women?
-Along with a similar price point?
-Are they true to size?
Thank you bruv!
Thank you for watching!
These skates are Womens skates. I would recommend these the most for women.
I would say they are true to size. Check there sizing chart for more detail though. impalaskate.com.au/collections/inline-skates/products/impala-lightspeed-inline-skate-blackberry
No worries ✌
@@BrandonDrummond Thanks Bruv!
I looked at the shop and it said light speed inline skates so you should’ve expected them to be slower
