This reminds me of an RPG session where we played as a squad of commandos and mine was melee focused. Exactly same question was asked and pretty similar answer was given.

@@cobrazax If u get a Templar with Bladestorm and Fortress u can ignore even that. If your really lucky and get reaper aswell and the damn thing becomes unstoppable.

There’s something really cool and fresh about the idea of facing down an Xcom 2 scenario that you’re supposed to need an army for, as if the aliens picked the wrong timeline and we have Snake out there pulling CQB, completely overpowered because he’s been a hero long before the aliens showed up.

Very inpressive. I've already know a ranger is so powerfull but i've never seen just one could do all those things alone, face the Viper king in a critical mission.
Had the same kind of character, created in the image of Dana Zane. However, every time I tried to "lone wolf" with her, I got interrupted by a sudden addition of ADVENT double agent or Resistance operative.
Not that it prevented her from being a badass.

I like how you made him look like a mixture of Big Boss and the Punisher, I too decked my squad out to look like various characters from comics and movies, probably my favorite aspect of the game
i also have Black Widow (Sniper), Master Chief (Shotgunner) and more i kinda forgot its been a years

yeah when my ranger was doing this, he took all the XP, then I just started taking 1 ranger each mission just as a backup so if anything goes south, I send him in to chop everyone up.

dude i respect this plan and the the execution literally but to me it would make him even more dangerous if he had a full maxed out ranger with him because they could pick off any stragglers or any annoying targets but that's my opinion great video keep it up
Why not put your ranger in the middle of the reinforcement area? (Right at the top of that red spot).
That way you will hit all three of them when they move

The spider suit, wraith suit and serpent armor also add some dodge
Ya on my first campaign I put alot of time into one ranger because they were my go to in enemy with in and got to say she hard carried me though the campaign between rapid fire and broken aim stat she put sectiods in he grave and with reaper I remember just going mental on a mission killed all 11 enemies on the map with that
@@ignaciopalma5972 you can increase dodge level by raise your characters ranks, but it is not by much. Alternatively you can do a lot covert actions with dodge personel rewards to help increase character natural dodge points. Another way to increase dodge is to install PCS to your characters. This way you increase your characters dodge points instantly.
Lights armor usually give your units some dodge points, just keep your eyes to armor stats. Combinations of those and ranger skills can really give your ranger units an OP stats

Do not try this at home. Bladestorm is a reaction ability and as such has a miss chance regardless if you use the katana or not. You will miss. And when you do the enemy will survive, crit you and you will die.
Its better to step in center of reinforcement square
That way - its 100% you'll hit all three. I usually end whole squad this way on deployment phase

That is because rng in xcom 2 is broken, but it cant ruin the game if you has 100% hit rate.

Cheats and/or mods? Enemy attacks on your character suspiciously regularly fail to hit your character. Also, Viper King did nothing on his first turn!
