@@erikcsekey9729 Exactly what I said = Sectopods have too many weaknesses that lead to their allies dying or getting cover destroyed. Better is Shieldbearers plus Mutons. Two Shieldbearers using the Shield ability one then the other - gives all units 12 extra health lol. And makes them virtually immune to melee damage. If you can get their will up as well, then they will counter attack with criticals where melee attacked.
I don't think anyone has to worry about the Geneva Conventions if the victims are human either. Just remember to be the winner in the war, than people forget about the pesky little things.

More op unit is gatekeeper, sectopods are actually quite balanced. Gk has more hp, more armor, higher defence, better attacks and cost only 6k, very op
@@DailyCorvid Sectopods can be annihilated in like 2 turns (one at time, not six lmao) by the time they start to appear if you got the Bluescreen protocol and EMP Grenades/EXO Suits with shredder, even a mimic would give you a free turn to deal with them, same thing can be said about Gatekeepers, but they difficult to hit with non AoE weapons due to having alot of dodge, and can screw you hard if you mess up or first encounter very easily.
@@anstorner This was an old comment! But I love this game I will answer 👽 The trick to this game is to understand the enemy AI and it's limitations. Once you do that you can literally run through the entire game with like 8 guys and never need any others. You don't need that many even, once you get Elena, that basically breaks the game. Using concealment with skill you can even complete the game just with 2 soldiers and Elena. Sectopods require line of sight, and can be destroyed using fall damage without alerting them. So many cool tricks in this game! Cannot wait for XCOM3!

Want it to be known, when i first did xcom 2 multiplayer, i made a team of basic soldiers, one advent officer, and one sectoid. During that match I learned that sectoids are ridiculously strong, because as the enemy slapped me with max tier snipers, berserkers, and other ridiculousness, I floated over a mind control at their sniper, and then chained killed all of their team in one go with their own sniper. I suppose you could say that snipers are OP, but it never couldve happened without that one nekkid alien boy

I don’t know if it still works, but when the game first came out I was top ranked in the world by using characters to scout the enemy and then using a gatekeeper sitting in the back of the map to launch its radius bomb at the enemy, completely overpowered and forced enemy to rush you, lots of fun. I remember when I dethroned the #1 guy and made him rage quit
Hot tip for next time: -Make a squad with 3 Codex, 2 XCOM medics and an ADVENT MEC -Alternate using medics' grenades and Restoration ability to damage the codices, cloning them and then healing up -Finally follow up with a micromissiles from the MEC If done correctly you should have 24 1-health Codex after 3 turns or so.

Someone tried doing the advent strat on me in a match with normal point limit. He nearly lost with 2 health on his sectopod with every single one of his advent troops infected and turned into chryssalids. I only had 2 chryssalids at the beginning and the rest were humans who were shit at landing shots on the sectopod which caused me to lose, this pretty much meant I had like 12 or more chryssalids running up, hitting the sectopod ,and dying one by one. All the damage done on the sectopod was done by chryssalids and 2 damage was done by my gunslinger who died right after looking the sectopod in the face.
I always wish that XCOM Multiplayer was seriously developed rather than just half assed barely functional or non functional much of the time. Whyy don't we have full games like this?!

The major problem is that in later levels the aliens with mind control can attempt to mind control across the whole map without vision(which leads to your troops to running around dropping their weapons or straight up murdering each other). And there is an exploit to use mind control to take over all the enemy soldiers in one turn. I did find a good mod for it that allows you to turn on line of sight mind control for the enemy(nerfs them to the point of laughability)

I guess you would miss out on the balls to the walls difficulty curve from the start, where you only have a few resources, later on you even get to defend your base. Oh, and the buttons on the bottom are kind of crap, some allow restricted movement so your scout doesn't get stuck in the middle of nowhere with an alien next to him, and others allow you to crouch.

I saw this years ago, but never noticed until now that Vale had renamed his sectopods. I saw one of them is called "John Cleese", and now I'm disappointed that he didn't name the other five sectopods after the other five Pythons.
The funniest part is that it is entirely possible to beat 6 Sectopods, all you need is 6 Grenadiers. Wether or not they can beat 6 of them at once is a mystery, but definitely one at a time.
Sectopods aren't very good imo. They only have a single benefit and that is disruption value. They have a strong set of attacks, but they are all too easy to avoid. Plus the main weakness is that they explode upon death, taking out valuable cover and damaging other troops / objectives. People see how cool they look and how big they are - but they don't look at their overall effectiveness in a fight. There is a good reason why towards the end of the game you see Sectopod pairs... It creates so many good ambush opportunities to the humans, that without them the games as LOT harder. In multiplayer they ruin stealth because the other players can see the terrain they are destroying and hear the windows breaking etc. So they are never truly hidden, you can just fly over the fog of war slowly and find them using sound.
I've only ever played multiplayer once against some rando. I brought a meme army of just vipers because who doesn't want an army of snake ladies with plasma guns. And the other guy brought his army he'd prepared for D-Day. Clearly he expected tough resistance and even when he spotted my troops he proceeded to have no chill. Quite fun.
That's kind of the charm of XCOM2 MP, you get the guys looking for a laugh and the super-generals who think it's just like being in the army :D Both fun for different reasons! My favourite type of squad is : A shieldbearer, Two Rangers, Two snipers, and a Berserker. Versatile and powerful, get those shields up immediately and bum rush with your two rangers covering the berserker who runs in to trigger the ambush. Crossfire with your two snipers then after generating shields have the SB retreat to cover the snipers. Job done!
Parry doesn't prevent fall damage, or some other unblockable attacks. But yeah it would be far better than Sectopods. If I am fighting a guy with 6 Sectopods only that's an easy win!

I saw this years ago, but never noticed until now that Vale had renamed his sectopods. I saw one of them is called "John Cleese", and now I'm disappointed that he didn't name the other five sectopods after the other five Pythons.
the biggest miracle is that you were able to play Xcom Multiplayer, When my mate and I tried it would crash on first move 100%

The funniest part is that it is entirely possible to beat 6 Sectopods, all you need is 6 Grenadiers. Wether or not they can beat 6 of them at once is a mystery, but definitely one at a time.
Sectopods aren't very good imo. They only have a single benefit and that is disruption value. They have a strong set of attacks, but they are all too easy to avoid. Plus the main weakness is that they explode upon death, taking out valuable cover and damaging other troops / objectives.
People see how cool they look and how big they are - but they don't look at their overall effectiveness in a fight. There is a good reason why towards the end of the game you see Sectopod pairs... It creates so many good ambush opportunities to the humans, that without them the games as LOT harder. In multiplayer they ruin stealth because the other players can see the terrain they are destroying and hear the windows breaking etc.
So they are never truly hidden, you can just fly over the fog of war slowly and find them using sound.
I'm surprised that in the second game you didn't just send a bunch of chrystallids all over the map waiting in ambush.

I've only ever played multiplayer once against some rando. I brought a meme army of just vipers because who doesn't want an army of snake ladies with plasma guns.
And the other guy brought his army he'd prepared for D-Day. Clearly he expected tough resistance and even when he spotted my troops he proceeded to have no chill. Quite fun.
That's kind of the charm of XCOM2 MP, you get the guys looking for a laugh and the super-generals who think it's just like being in the army :D Both fun for different reasons!
My favourite type of squad is : A shieldbearer, Two Rangers, Two snipers, and a Berserker. Versatile and powerful, get those shields up immediately and bum rush with your two rangers covering the berserker who runs in to trigger the ambush. Crossfire with your two snipers then after generating shields have the SB retreat to cover the snipers. Job done!
I think you need to do 6 Templars and get them all to attack one enemy then parry
Parry doesn't prevent fall damage, or some other unblockable attacks. But yeah it would be far better than Sectopods. If I am fighting a guy with 6 Sectopods only that's an easy win!
