I'm an exclusive pumper/bottle feeder and I only use this pump, using the method you mentioned of holding down the lever for as long as the milk keeps spraying. I've been doing this for my last 5 babies since i discovered this, and I'm so happy to see you publicizing this since all the videos and user manuals dont mention that is the way to use it.
I've tried the hospital grade medela double pump, and trust me, i can get more milk with this in 15 minutes than i can get with the medela symphony in an hour of pumping.
I've had IBCLCs tell me im pumping "wrong", but I've had 8 babies and I think I know what works for my body. This pump works.

Also, regarding it suddenly losing suction abilities, I've had that happen too. Here's what to check for if that happens:
      1) is the little white membrane flap attached to the yellow valve piece correctly inside the bottle
      2) ensure that the rubber piece of the lever is firmly pushed onto the hard plastic part all around it's circumference
      3) check that the little plastic stick is aligned correctly inside the rubber part of the lever. Sometimes it spins a little bit and then air can leak in through there.
      4) make sure the tiny little white rubber band is still there at the tip of the stick. It's hard to notice but if it has popped off there will be zero suction.
Maybe I should make a video explaining all this. I've used the Medela Harmony thousands of times to pump, I'm probably an expert. 😂
If all else fails, buy a new one. They're not that expensive. I've tried to have Medela replace it under warranty but they told me I'm overusing it, they only made it with the intention of occasional use, so I guess using it 8 times a day for months and months puts a toll on the rubber and it just needs to be replaced more frequently. Luckily it's not so expensive, but I wish insurance policies would cover a bulk order of these. My insurance will give me one free pump per baby, but I don't want another Spectra that I won't use anyway. Just send me 15 Medela Hand pumps for the same price, please. I wish they would. They won't.

I have the lansinoh hand pump. I feel like some if the milk does not make it into the hole. When I take off the pump, milk runs down from the back of the flange. This happens with the 25 and 30 flanges. What could I be doing wrong? I collect around 2 oz but would like to be efficient with this pump! So much easier than my double electric.

Great video! Once I’m done with one breast can I immediately pump the other without having to wash the parts?

I have the Haakaa breast pump. Despite it being said that you can use it exclusively without baby on the opposite breast, that does not work for me - only when my son is feeding at the same time. Do you think using this manual pump on one breast will trigger let down and continuous milk into my Haakaa on the opposite breast?

Yes, the manual pump on the other side is likely to trigger a let down and I wouldn’t be surprised if you are able to collect some milk in a silicone pump on the opposite side

Same! I collect a good amount on the other side with haaka when baby is nursing but barely get anything when baby is not on other breast.

This pump worked great for me the first week I used it then it seemed to lose suction. I got the replacement o ring and white membrane piece and it still seems to not work as effectively as before. Have you heard of this happening with this pump. I want to use it as my main pump which I need to use mon to fri 4 times a day per side.

The only thing I can think of that may be happening, because it happened to me a few times… is is the clear rubber seal under the yellow handle isn’t clicked in and sealed exactly right, it may not be forming full suction

@@KassiReyesI thought it was secured but I will double check next time I try. Thanks for your input!

@ExcuseMeeWizard there is also a tiny o ring on the tip of the handle that connects it to the pump. If that is gone, you will lose suction 💕

No it’s still there and I also replaced it before. I contacted Medela. It is still under warranty and they are sending a replacement! Hopefully all will work out! Thanks for the reply!
