Another unique character. I really like it. Seems like the fantasy of Designhacker is infinite

    Hey Havok!
So, Phil has two very different playstyles: managing the team from Alter-Ego, and Jumping into the action too. Not every card is going to get used in each playstyle. When you play from Alter-Ego, you're leveraging his effective hand of 7 to quickly establish a very lucrative economy in the form of Government Liaison, Helicarrier, Leo Fitz, and Zephyr One. Zephyr One is expensive because in this particular deck, readying can be economy, damage, healing, or thwarting--it's critical!
Quake also is a niche pick--her stock goes up when you let her lead the team while you stay back at the base. If you start getting hit with a lot of minions (try with legions of hydra as the modular set!) Quake does WORK every round you stay in AE without even taking consequential damage. Go a few rounds pinging minions with her when the villain schemes, and then you can do a big hit for 4 before she heads out.
Also, it Fitzsimmons are the heart of the team, both in the show and in this deck. They are fine on their own, and decent value, but when you have both of them in play, you can combo them to get amazing value. You can trigger them both from AE, so they work great to establish your team (generating 2 resources together) and then, once you have your team assembled, they can work together to basically prevent 1 consequential from 3 of your allies.
You can even start with this playstyle, and then when you have Zephyr One, Fitzsimmons and a few other basic upgrades/supports in play along with your core allies, you can flip to hero, tank all the damage yourself, get LMD Coulson into play, and use your Advanced Tech to tank damage (since you can no longer Recover).
Despite the high costs on some cards, it's necessary because the perks of this kit are also pretty solid, and have only gone up since Sinister Motives wave brought a ton of SHIELD support. I hope you do give it another try, because while I personally LOVE Mack and his shotgun axe, we didn't really get to showcase the core mechanisms that make the kit really hum :D
    Thanks for playing!!

Thanks DH! I knew there was something I was missing. He was still fun the way I was doing it, but there was obvious nuance I wasn't quite grasping. I really love the way you worked theme into the playstyle too. Fans of the show would automatically gravitate towards your intended playstyle. I'll definitley give him anoher go when I can. Thanks for watching!

OMG! I loved the show and your description has really helped me visualize how this should run. I can wait to run this deck!!! Nothing tops a shotgun-ax!

Hi! I love your channel. I just discovered it after the Villain Theory RUclipsr Multiverse video. I just recently got into custom content after I realized they weren't doing an Emma Frost deck. I saw they video you did with one of her decks and was wondering if you take requests if you could do Rainy's Emma Frost deck? And/or BerettaBeast's Starfire deck would be great too. HisEpicness also created a really cool deck for the Stepford Cuckoos. Its basically a hero version of a multi villain scenarios where you switch between three of the sisters.
One of my biggest hurdles with playing with custom content is deckbuilding. I have always relied on MCDB so custom heroes make things hard. Any chance a deck building tips video?
I have seen this deck and it looks good but the LMD confused me so this was extremely helpful. For Mac I am guessing overkill is the shotgun and the piercing is the ax. Yo-Yo is a speedster who has to return to her start point when she slows down, hence Yo-Yo

Deckbuilding is my least favourite part of the game too. I am really horrible in it. I always appreciate a deck with a prebuilt starter deck. I would also appreciate some deckbuilding tips

Wow, what an epic comment! I considered playing Rainy's Emma Frost but he advised me against it as he thought it might be too complicated! But I do love the character, so I'll take another look at her, and HisEpicness's Cuckoos hero and see if they work for me. Funnily enough I did play Beretta's Starfire once but I played her completely wrong and it was a very bad game so I didn't upload it.
I'll consider a deckbuilding video but I am not good at it it LOL. For that I recommend VillainThoery's vid - ruclips.net/video/pQ2R2Jld4wE/видео.htmlsi=jL3xN-uSVO0bmyJt

@@ncp-tvHonestly a deck being complicated is a good reason to play it. Like I mentioned I had trouble wrapping my head around this deck despite finding it really interesting but between this video and the author breaking it down in the comments I think I am ready to give it a try so thank you.
For deckbuilding maybe do another collab with VT where you discuss together how to build decks for custom heroes….?
Looking forward to going through more of your back catalogue and seeing what you put out in the future!

I've been running through Custom content as well, and I do appreciate when there's a precon, I do generally will trend to changing cards out I like and don't like and changing colors as well. Like recently I just tested Deku, and Han Solo and I changed their colors. Usually I just try to find something that supplements the hero in some way, if that's playing off the Hero ability, or certain cards. Some cards are just good, I';d say pick some stuff play the game, how often do you use the cards you picked, how does it feel to use them? Start there!
