Grab a cold beverage, sit back, and enjoy two prog powerhouses do what they do best! Let us know what you're favorite clinic moment was below 👇
55:30 🤣
1:00:54
32:50 is when Mu starts. Leaving this here because that song is what keeps me returning to this video. So sick.
Really hyped to hear some new stuff, wonder when it will be out
It's out for real in case you missed it!
Man... I got lost in that 1st song Richard played, unreal...
Holy shit, that unreleased Richard song was amazing. Love the saxophone
Video starts at 18:30
thanks
Thanks !
45:37 the way Plini hits that first note is kind of special man, lifts his hand up to take a bit of a run into it, then his hand just falls and the pick strikes _through_ the string, rather than resting his palm and plucking in a controlled way how you would expect. To me that really shows his level of skill and confidence. Idk, the way he hit that first note just struck me
36:59 YES HEN! What a dirty beatdown. HAhahah. Everyone on stage was feeling that $hit HARD!
And that arpeggiated climax was amazing.
Plini's phrasing is much more straightforward than the Sheet Happens tabs. For anyone else utilizing those tabs and then also thinking they can't play Plini's songs, I'd just watch the friggin fretboard on this video and hope he does more playthroughs with good videography!
Thats exaclty what Im thinking!
Yeah I’ve got a few of their Plini books and they do seem to make it hard to decipher what he’s actually doing
@@ianmarsland44 In the tabs I see a ton of chromatic notes that exist within very standard scale patterns. At the speed of his runs, very hard (for me) to hit the chromatic BS. When I see him play, he just hits the very standard scale patterns without much chromatic. I.E. - ring finger tends to just hand out! Unless he's doing it faster than I can see and hear which is possible.
I discovered long ago that the NOTES themselves are correct in those tabs, but the fingering is way off.
Yep the tabs are a good source but finger positions...its just better to play it the way it makes sense to you.
First song of Henshall is a true masterpiece !!! Looking forward for the official release 🔥
Came for Plini and .Strandberg* guitars, stayed for the awesome performance of Richard Henshall's "Mu" and the awesome vibes of this event, thank you for sharing this video !
Wow. Mu. Jumping back all the time to listen to it again and again.
Also love the guys just not never getting serious 😂
so basicly 2 dudes that happen to play the same guitar brand have fun and anweser a question every now and then. THATS SO COOL
I don't think I've ever seen Plini answer a question seriously and I like it! XD! Great guys these two!
I’ve never been one for signature guitars but Rich Henshall’s signature is gonna be the next guitar I buy. That dude is ridiculously good.
I live for this shit. Plini and Henshall are incredible artists. I've seen Haken and Plini. Would love to see Henshall tour Australia with a band playing his material!
Carousel is such a banger
My fav track of his
Love the main riff
the breakdown on Richard's Mu song is nuts.
edit: 36:55 btw
Wow! What a treat!
man i love rich's music its so amazing
what an amazing program!
Man this was the first I've ever heard of Richard and his songs were soo good- fell in love with Mu! (and Plini obviously too but I was expecting that)
Holy fuck 2 new Richard Henshell songs
Mu is the highlight of this event/video
I've got a Standard NX on the way, and this just gets me all sorts of excited.
That first Henshall song though ❤️
Yang sounds fantastic af. Love you both
Soooooo goooood!
Growing up listening to important music or bands somewhat from before my time (DT, Metallica etc..) it's weird to have seen both of these now important artists come to life from the beginning and what that looks like in today's modern music scene using the internet.
Wasn’t overly familiar with Rich Henshall’s playing prior to this but’Mu’ was absolutely phenomenal. Still trying to process what I just heard 😂
His solo album "The Cocoon" is fantastic and, if you don't know Haken (the band in which he plays guitar), their stuff is brilliant as well.
Wish I could play guitar like Plini, damn
"Are you ergonomic, Jason?" lmao
Cant wait for plini🎉
0:29
52:19 NOOO why’d you rejected me like that 😭
1:13:37 is awesome
👍👍👌
What did Henshall do, drop his middle E to a D?? I'm gonna have to try that tuning today... I mainly play EBEADGBE, sometimes I'll tune to EAEADGBE but I haven't tried drop D on an 8 string
lol same, I love EAEADGBE but the other day I decided to try what he did, and it was fun to jam with. he just tuned to F#BDADGBE
what's the song that plays before they come in? around the 10 minute mark
Can somebody point me to where I can listen to the song "Yang" can't seem to find it on Richard or Haken's discography
Only place is on this stream. It’s unreleased.
33:05 Ur Welcome
What amplification is Pliny using? Love the tone
Probably the Neural DSP Plini Plugin
Have you ever thought of Podcasting these please?
Why is Mu unreleased 😭
ok was going to ask where can I find the song if it's a studio release or not. this is my first time discovering henshall and was looking thru the haken and nova collective stuff for MU. T.T
@@nathansantos.n8 I reckon he plans to release it in his next record. He'd be a lunatic not to.
RUclips's algorithm must be TERRIBLE if I'm JUST NOW finding out about this 5 months later. 😭
I'm finding out about it after Mu was released
I wan’t both guitars but I only have 2 kidneys :/
'Mu' sounds like snarky puppy!
plini saying he doesn't have talent with instruments is frankly insulting
He's had to work extremely hard to get to where he's gotten. I think he meant that he didn't have a natural ability to just "be good" from the start.
40:23 this guy's hairline
💀
Never heard of the other guy & yet he's one of the world's greatest??🤔hmm.
I don't know the Music of PLINI well but he sounds a lot like WAXAMILION
23:13 nothing says plini knows how to make his guitar talk by asking a damn question with it
Sup Ola
Fuck. 21:40
He influenced by The Beatles but his playing style is like Allan Holdsworth
P r o m o s m 😇
Must say, the interviewer's questions are kind of rubbish and seem like they weren't remotely thought through... It's like he googled "what questions to ask in an interview" and used the most generic ones. Stuff like "who's your biggest inspiration" and "which song most represents you" are just so cliché and like, idk man just ask something original that actually merits a good answer lmao, ask dumb questions and you'll get simple short answers lol
I want Henshall’s guitar…without the 🐔
I don't know about leading the way in amp simulation
i guess i'll be the first to say that i didn't like Mu. sounds like it is all over the place. too many ideas thrown into a single track... not cohesive. and it just keep going on and on and on.
Wait, they don’t play TOGETHER ?? What a waste of an opportunity. The art of improv is lost in the modern guitar scene unfortunately.
Did you watch the same video as me? Improvised jam at 21:30. It's one of the first things they do.
@@daniolus ha I skipped that part by accident. They sure do, although it’s way to short and only once.
Really goes to show Plini's virtuosity. I've never heard of the Richard guy, he's not _bad_ by any stretch, although I personally don't like his music, but seeing these two play side by side, I mean god damn Plini is LEAGUES more talented than the Richard dude, both in terms of technical playing ability, and songwriting ability. Plini's music is just so much richer, more polished, and everything is deliberate and masterfully crafted. With the other guy it sounds way more amateurish, and at times- for example when he inserts a fast shreddy bit, I almost get the impression that during the writing process he thought "and in this bit I'll do a really fast shreddy bit", so it doesn't sound organic, it sounds like it was put there like a lego brick or something, whereas with Plini that's never the case because there's SO much more fluidity, and his phrasing is just so on point. Also Plini is better at pulling off wonky chords, during Richard's 3rd song there was a moment when I genuinely thought he made a mistake, like his left hand ended up doing the chord a fret too high, but then the section repeated and he did it again. Plini's wonky chords actually work, they add to the music and they fit perfectly. Basically Plini is god tier haha
Rich, you are missing the teflon washer on the d string tuner🥲 Btw, it was awesome! It really was. Thank You guys!
