This a a strong compliment Chris. I have been on youtube doing lessons from every person I could find. You are by far the fastest and cleanest player of anyone on youtube I have ran across. Even the hardest Avenged Sevenfold songs you seem to be almost bored playing them. You have incredible skills. I would wager you are better than a lot of the guitarists that write these songs. MAD SKILLS bro!!!! Any band would be lucky to have you. If I had your skills, I would be interviewing for some big bands if and when the opportunity arose. Keep doing what your doing. You lessons are amazing and have helped me tremendously.
he slows down the recordings to learn these solos by ear. note for note. as well as that he has been a guitar player for over 20 years so he's had enough time to improve his general technique and speed
Great videos! You are hands down the best teacher I've come across. I've never been able to just grasp onto the solos the first time, but I watched your Orion videos and got it the first try! Thanks Chris!
Chris I want to thank you because I'm getting alot better thanks to your videos and I couldn't do that without you, keep up the good work, you are awesome :)
Still working on creeping death and I'm glojg to tackle this next. Great explanation and playing mate. You have a knack for teaching this stuff. Thanks a million for taking the time to do this. Peace
Man Chris I know this video is old and you don’t mess with RUclips much anymore but man I wanna say I really appreciate the time you’ve put into doing these videos so that people like me can play stuff like this note for note.. Thanks a lot Chris we love you man keep rockin🤘🏻🥃
Thanks for the lesson, Chris! This helped me so much. But after the tapping part inthe beginning, instead of sliding from 8 to 10 on the B string, Kirk taps the 14th fret of the G string.
Thanks really I learned it right now by you I'm really glad now because of this solo that i know Even I learned unforgiven solo by you Thanks again power full man
What the hell! Chris just uploaded a video of the petition from many subscribers who were asking since a long time ago and people here are like crazy already asking for more covers, come on guys give the guy a break he is a good teacher and deserves to do the solos he likes and wants to do and teach us. By the way awesome cover Chris, you are a really good teacher, keep always doing a good job!
I really like the way you teach it. You tell what you're doing, stick to main points, and provide tabs as you go along. All of that makes me appreciate your videos more. Definitely earned the sub! 👍
Great job! I love this solo! I can't play it myself as a beginner, so can't comment on it's difficulty (nearly everything looks hard), but it's really not about that for me. This is a great example of why I love Hammett's writing. So much mood and melody; it's so memorable that is sticks in your head note for note, and that to me is what really makes a great solo. It compliments the song perfectly.
I think his version is actually off in some spots. It's a pretty good rendition and it fits the backing track, but there are a few intricacies in the official version that make it easy harder than this version. I'll stick with this though haha
I'd just like to say Chris...You are a legend! It seems that most of your comments are pretty much people demanding other songs (ahem...myself included on other videos) and I just wanted to take the time to say that what you do is awesome and very much appreciated :) 'Like' to show Chris some well deserved appreciation!!!
I have spent all my day went through all three parts of this truly beautiful solo I would say this is one of the best Kirk's solos so melodic and heavy metalish! Chris THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this videos! However one question I also trust to the lessons of Carl brown and I saw lots of differences in the way he teaches this solo any comments on that?So who is right and who is wrong so to speak?
I'd like it if you could do more to help transition in between the sections. I have no idea how I'm supposed to make the jump from section 2 to section 3, and the original track goes so quickly it's really difficult to listen for. Playing with a metronome might help too on the slower parts, there are parts where you seem to freeze on some notes. I'm guessing that's intentional, maybe for emphasis, but it's hard for me to really get an idea for the actual duration of each note
My salmon pink discount store guitar only has 22 frets and i'm struggling to get my hand down there on that 22 bend, when I get a better guitar im going for 24 frets cause this is ridiculous
there are generations, that pride themselves on living through II WW, on drinking from the first bottles of Coca-Cola.. i'll be telling my grandkids, that I had the privelege to watch Chris Zoupa cover Ride The Lightning solo, thanks for that, Sir!
Thanks Chris, I've been playing this one for a while but I learned something on that F# pentatonic run that you do that'll make it easier for me to play. By the way what is a Dugong?
Hey Chris, how did you manage an endorsement deal with PRS when you don't own one (sorry if in wrong and you do but you never use it on videos if you do)
I've been studying this video and a similar tab on the tab pro app religiously. I thought I had it down, so I tried playing along with the song. It sounded like something was off. Some sections in this video are wrong in comparison to the studio album. It sounds good the way you play it but when you play your tabs vs the actual song, there's a lot of notes and weird timings in the original that didn't make any sense.............. Until I looked at the writing credits.
How many people comeback to these multiple times just to hear him play it. I learned so much from you chris thanks for the help.

Chris I want to thank you because I'm getting alot better thanks to your videos and I couldn't do that without you, keep up the good work, you are awesome :)
I always get so excited when I look up a song I want to learn and I see you in a thumbnail. I appreciate you very much
Usually, when I can't play a solo from tabs, I can't learn it watching youtube either, I don't know what's happening but you made it work my man
Still working on creeping death and I'm glojg to tackle this next. Great explanation and playing mate. You have a knack for teaching this stuff. Thanks a million for taking the time to do this. Peace
You and I are working on exactly the same stuff! In my opinion, these are Kirk's best solos.
remember me too watching and learning how to play solos by Chris's videos, gosh 8 years just flew away af😢
oh my fucking god! i think this shit will take me forever..
Not at all its technically not challenging!

dude, one of my favorite solos. Your vid is helping me learn it now!! It's like Christmas but I've got to work for it! Peace and love

I think his version is actually off in some spots. It's a pretty good rendition and it fits the backing track, but there are a few intricacies in the official version that make it easy harder than this version. I'll stick with this though haha
Once more, thank you very much Chris for this pleasant lesson !
Can you do hit the lights solo by Metallica ?????
one of the most epic solos!
MIght seems like a dumb question, but where the hell does the pick disapear when you tap O.o lol
he uses his nail
Holy mother of god lol

I used to wonder the same thing, Small Buj, but Chris explains in his guitar shredding & speed video that he uses the nail of his middle finger.
