Crazy Morrison's estate sold the movie rights to The Doors story way early and sat on it for years. Now I like Oliver Stone but I can say I like this band enuff to seek every song, bootleg, recordings, jams, interviews, then and now with the remaining members of the band, I can almost say with certainty I'm sure how he got every bit of info to make the movie. Now from day one this band was a nucleus. 4 were one. Every decision had to be unanimous. The movie really just revolved around Jim when he could of did it little longer and get more into the other Doors and just my opinion. I can say it was a tough call what to add and not to. But this song is one of the few that seems to hit me deep, at a spiritual level.

Funny thing is, you can split this into 15 songs, easy. (The tape box helps point to what's what.) This is damn near an album, recorded in one take.

so i was in a car for a roadtrip and they be playing despacito and every other song that kind for about 6 hours. It was unbearable. I asked only 1 song, just one.
Poor tasteless bastards, they didn't know what they just signed up for.
I also took a wrong turn because we were gonna be at the destination 30 min into the song.

I accidentally listened to the whole thing at 1.25x speed. The guitar sounded like ass, but Jim's rambling was waaayy easier to put up with.

This was included in The Soft Parade's 50th Anniversary Edition that came out last year. Lots of neat, previously unreleased stuff in that box set by the way.

Are these old blues songs or Doors songs? Any idea?

The band took a tour of music starting with blues, going through rockandroll, soul, Latin, with singing improvisations by Jim as well, I heard this in an interview between Jerry Hopkins and Jim in 1969, explaining that he liked the trip produced by the blues and improvising without a beginning and an end, it's funny, he doubted that anyone would ever listen to him.
