I don't think anyone in the past or future will ever be able to scream like Jim.
Oh hell no he's the best at screaming, bet it scared the hell out of Robby sometimes
People often forget Jim had just turned 25 a few months prior. He didn't act much crazier than all the people I grew up around. He drank more obviously but he was a young man. People act like it was outrageous for him to act that way and he should've known better but damn, he was merely a young man exploring life and setting his boundaries.
A couple of my friends didn't make it out their 20s either. One in particular was always pushing boundaries, and was dead at 26 after one particularly reckless night involving drugs and alcohol.
@@zyrrhos myself almost Doors are a band to ride with sober nowadays.
Just turned 26
@@zyrrhos - 😞😔
He didn’t set any boundaries. He became a serious alcoholic. He used to be drinking buddies with Alice Cooper and Keith Moon. Alice Cooper quit drinking to save his life.
And Ray wrote that he tried to drink with Jim one night but he couldn’t keep up the pace. Jim drank from the morning until night. Ray gave up trying.
Just when I thought I heard every Doors bootleg
Me too ❤
I can't express how exciting it is when a tape like this bubbles to the surface for all to enjoy after so many years! Thank you!!!
Late Show ..Roadhouse Blues..Break On Through (to the Other Side)..Alabama Song (Whisky Bar)Kurt Weill cover..Back Door Man(Willie Dixon cover)..Five to One..Ship of Fools..Love Me Two Times(with verse of "Baby Please Don't Go")..When the Music's Over..Away in India..Build Me a Woman ..When the Music's Over reprise..Rock Me(Muddy Waters cover)..Will the Circle Be Unbroken?(William MacEwan cover)..Petition the Lord With Prayer..Wake Up!..Light My Fire.. Soul Kitchen..Encore:Maggie M'Gill
Quality is excellent for a bootleg. Surprising this surfaced 47 years later!
This would be a good one to have on CD!
This Cleveland show -- and the Toronto festival in '69 -- are the two best Doors shows I've ever heard. (The Roundhouse and Aquarius shows come close) They're simply on fire here and Morrison is obviously enjoying himself and the crowd and vice-versa. Robbie was a prodigy and rather unsung as a '60s guitar avatar. Uncanny how he and Morrison could read each other! Telepathy for sure.
After hearing their last two performances in TX & LA, it's amazing how quickly JM declined in under a year whether from the burden of the Miami trial or just plain sick of performing onstage compared to pursuing writing/poetry or a combination of both.
As Ray would say after their last incomplete N.O. gig, he witnessed the spirit just leaving Jim's body.
And yes, although Ray & Robbie were the nucleus of the band, Jim & Robbie seemed to have the best chemistry onstage.
The Doors on top primal form ! Thank you for sharing this….
This has to be one of the best Doors concerts, like ever....
you serious? he's wasted drunk. they were 100 times better 66-68
1. 0:01 Roadhouse blues
2. 5:54 Break on through
3. 10:32 Alabama song
4. 12:45 Back door man
5. 15:12 5 to 1
6. 22:25 Ship of fools
7. 30:12 Jim and the audience request
8. 32:01 Love me two times
9. 38:12 Jim Praises crowd
10. 39:00 When the musics over
11. 45:00 Jim takes you on a boogey blues trip
12. 58:05 musics over conclusion
13. 1:06:30 applause and thank you, philosophical Jim
14. 1:11:39 Rock me baby
15. 1:17:52 Breather

23. 1:50:52 Maggie McGill
Track 16 is perhaps more accurately titled as "Will The Circle Be Unbroken", although Jim's taken liberty with the lyrics as he obviously didn't know much of them.
Thx this helped me jump around and experience it
Big thank you! I started to compile a setlist, then saw yours. I hope the OP pins it.
Thank you! ☮️☯️❤️
They didn’t do the end
I love these 2 hour shows. Most shows back then were only an average of 1 hour. It wasn't often when bands played for more than an hour. The Doors were great when they played this long because Jim wanted to be there and didn't want to stop.
Sometimes a good audience tape beats the fixed-up stuff. Sometimes. And especially with a band like the Doors, where the "soul" of the music shines through on a good night. Thanks for this rare treasure !
Indeed,yes
I agree!
Beautiful free form playing on Light my fire….rarely played the same way twice in the bands live performances 😮
the trick it seems was to get and/or keep jim in a good mood.... his performance here was stellar. band tight & he didnt sound plastered.
It's a rare miracle that we hear these materials. The Doors were special with their music, they sang without filters, they sang the way we talk in everyday life with each other, without filters, in May 2022 I was in Paris, I couldn't leave without going to Jimi's grave, as soon as I faced Jimi's grave I was overcome by a very special feeling, I was overcome by emotions, I greeted all my friends.
Great sounding, sounds like a nice small venue, you can hear the audience interaction. Jim sounds like he's in top form
Absolutely!
Damn, that cassette has a lifetime warranty and Norelco is still in business.
And what is the lifetime warranty for?
I wonder what C-120 means
@@thebestofu-tubebytheresaes5189 If you're being serious, C-120 means 60 minutes of recording/playback time on each side of the cassette.
44 Jim it sounds like he's drunk
Been a great few years for collectors of the doors music . Palace in the canyon last year , London fog and Allen theatre this year . Thanks .
Love how Jim blows his voice box out and just soldiers on. Pure class.
"Soldiers of foreign wars... We are the soldiers of rock and roll wars..." JDM
Amazing show! Jim was in excellent form!!
Awesome concert and tape, thank you for sharing 😊😊
This sounds pretty Damn good for an audience tape.
I love these live shows popping up.
Wow. I was at that show. It was fabulous. Thanks for posting! One of my friends fell asleep during the show!
How SUPERCOOL !!
Loving Jim's sermon. 1st time I've heard that and it was magical. THEN a section of 'Celebration' with different lyrics! 'Light My Fire' is the cherry on top. What a night this must have been.
One of their very best performances by these cats, man. EDIT: Thanks Doc West!
Thank you for putting this on Jim is my idol since 12 I'm 46 ivy been a poet since 12 my lyrics I write and sing are poems on the edge I put poetry into my music I've been a musician since 5
Wow thats awesome!
Man what a gift! Thank you for this 70s gem. Even though BM dug into the archive there are still shows out there, ie Eagles Auditorium, Alternate Singer, second half of Bakersfield. This Cleveland show I had no clue existed so its a special surprise for any fan of The Doors. Great energy, and a solid audience recording, what more can you say but THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Greg Shaw's book "The Doors On The Road" is useful for concert tapes info, although strangely his track listing for this show differs.
That's odd Shaws book has been for the most part quite accurate
1970. What a year to have been! The amount of music legends I would've gone to see in concert! :o
Probably my favorite overall year for music, film, art, American culture (which reached its apex that year, I believe), etc. My time-capsule choice of years (in the last 100), for sure.
70's thru parts of 90's. Since then, mostly sonic pollution unless u serarch underground.
Good Doors’ concert. Morrison is in a good mood, band is tight, in tune and on key. The audience is receptive.
man you made my night!! I've been collecting over 25 years and this is here??? you're amazing😀
When tuned like that, these guys were just amazing. Wow! Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you so much for sharing this with us!!!
Excellent. I Love This. Live performances really let's you know what a musician and or musicians are made of. The only that could have topped it off is The Crystal ship. Don't get me wrong, I still love it. Thanks for posting this.
Huge thanks for sharing! I just love to put the headphones...turn the lights and the volume way down, and then close my eyes and just let the Doors take me on the trip somewhere... Thanks again!!!
Wow the most bizzare version of Celebration of the Lizard, just before light my fire. This is just a glimpse to remind us that many of the doors best show were probably show's that we never heard or weren't recorded. For the sake of history this was uncovered to reveal Jim in one of his most unique moods. He certainly seems very focused.
Thank you so much for sharing, amazing show.
Elektra should release the original remastered tapes!!!
excellent treasure, thanks so much for sharing.
WOW!!!!! What an AWESOME find!!!!! Thank You for sharing!!!!!
So glad to see another show surface, and the sound quality is pretty good for audience. Hopefully more missing shows continue to appear...
Muchas felicidades.
Perfect recording and excellent sound! Sounds just like it was just recorded.
This is incredible! The taper Doc West lives in my hometown!
Jim. Great personal humor and happy reactions from the audience. Never heard such a lively concert of The Doors on any of my retail studio CDs and even on any of my live Doors DVD concerts. Some songs not on any of my collection. This tape would make much more money. Go Doors.
Great comment!
They'll be going on long after were dead.
Too bad this concert wasn't filmed. Sounds like they were really "on" here. Glad this tape exists!
Thank you.
Fantastic, thanx!
From what heard from live "Doors " material it,s always entertaining but not always great , this is one of them.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the rare music.
Whoa.
This is great. Thank you.
that you Alex?
Must have been right by Ray to get the organ so clearly.Very nice.

Wow
Thank you!!!!
Fuckn love the doors, and this gem was uploaded on my birthday! Haha
Don't know if that's the actual cassette but the lifetime guarantee I guess really worked.

Celebration of the lizard wow just wow... So beautiful his screams . Love him MADLY
AMAZING
Big thanks to Doc West and ATPC for this!
Over 51 years ago now!!!!
Wow. What a great show!
Amazing!
I would say this tape was recorded using a 1969 Norelco 150 recorder.....
Porra do caralho fudido demais.... The Doors forever.... obrigado pela postagem
The Doctor was off by about 49 years. But damn we were left with some epic tunes 👌
That was great!. props to the ATPC.
here s your time machine , its all we got !!!!
Thank you for this bootleg true doors fan Jim Morrison
what's sad is, goodwill etc. usually throws donated tapes in the garbage! imagine all the bands who got old and died, and family finds old tapes, and donates them, and they get tossed... I collect all used blank tapes.. found many radio broadcasts, old TV stuff etc.. but how can you keep a doors tape in a closet for so long? what's the whole story?
I've been collecting since 1978, I have The Doors, Lynard Skynard, Eagles etc. I have no one to leave them to when I pass on. My son might dump them.
Minute 46'..🤩😏 genuine, that's Jim. Period.
Nobody like Jim Fucking Morrison ever. Never before or after.
How 'bout Bono?
Just kidding :)
@@strangersname That's a good one but u2 had some moments...
wow!
On May 7, 1968, the Allen Theatre was closed; it remained vacant for nearly 30 years.
Contact Info not true, I have a number of shows from there up on the channel
thank goodness they invented compact cassettes. this all woulda been lost on 8 trax
Heaven
Why isn't this offixially rekeased?
I wonder how an audience cassetetape can sound this good?
Recorder was probably between the staged speakers.
Magic
Kevin Wuulf brought me here. Shout out to you if you ever see this.
I was there!
A whole new angular view
