This is what happens when a team has a funnel everything into one lane in order to win games. Fnatic made it a point to funnel everything into rekkless and the fnatic bot as outplaying JKL and yuya. The difference is that TES still has Knight and 369 while fnatic has damn nemesis... the TES mid jg duo was just too much for fnatic. Karsa played out of his mind after that troll j4 pick. What good is a bot lane kingdom when they don’t even win the game. Honestly, TES botlane got outplayed but that isn’t their only win condition. This is why fnatic just couldn’t seem to get that last W. Great adaptation and mental fortitude from TES to grind out an amazing comeback against a top tier Fnatic squad.
LPL is having a new regin be established, imagine like if G2 (FPX) and FNC(iG) didn't even make it to worlds and teams like Rogue, Mad Lions, XL and Shalke were making it to groups and most of em at least to top 8 and one of them favoured to win it all. Pretty one sided.
I feel the game was lost by Fnatic in draft. When your only %health damage vs. a Sion is on Ornn, on a long cooldown ability, and your only AP champ is a Galio, you're just begging a late game like this. This is not the first time I've seen a team fail to take effective percentage health damage or magic damage versus a Sion at Worlds, and I'm sure it won't be the last.
The whole FNC members including the coach completely lost their minds on games 3 and 4 except Rekkles. Look at the BP on game 3. It looks like the coach doesn't believe they can win the game. After game 2 they forgot that they are facing the best team in LPL.
They had too much AD on their team and Sion just went the perfect beast tank against their mainly AD comp. They should've gone an AP jungler with CC this game.
Knight Destroyed Rekkles this game. Constantly chunking him out so he can't even free hit lol. Love the throw from Rekkles and Hylli in toplane. I'd be so surprised if I see Nemesis, Bwipo and Hylli in this roster next year. Bwipo and Hylli deserves a better team who just doesnt blame them for everything in regular season.
Rekless is the problem, just another kda player. During the last push from TES, Rekless knew they were losing so all he was trying to do was avoid dying. He just hid in the back throwing Ws and one R, he didn't even have a single auto-attack from 33:30 until the end. I don't get why ppl blame the team when they do everything to put Rekless in front. Rekkles proceeds to mess up itemization (he couldn't even tickle Sion) and would rather lose than have bad stats. Then people blame his teammates smh. There's a reason Rekkles has never won an international championship. 5 team players make up a champion team, not a delusional, overrated player who hides behind KDA stats and is useless when team is down in the dirt. For those Rekkles fans, 42:00 proves everything.

I have to completely disagree with Froskurin's analysis on the reasons Fnatic lost this match. It wasn't about their execution. Sure they did overstep occasionally like they tend to do but they still had the gold lead and were doing just fine. The issue was actually in the draft, in not having any AP threats with Galio mid along with the Ornn, neither of which have a high magic DPS. Ornn died this game because he built both armor and MR, which I get the Abyssal Mask being such a classic item but with 3 ADs and Nidalee he maybe could have gone pure armor like Sion did on the other side. That Sion was the issue. Ashe and Graves together barely tickled the Sion, they just couldn't get through him. With Tahm Kench covering any TES missteps and Nidalee+Senna+Jayce poking from the back Fnatic had no choice but go through the Sion, who could afford to build full armor as there weren't any magic threats to force him to build MR. Fnatic could have alleviate this issue somewhat if they went for Lord Domink's as a 2nd/3rd item on both Ashe and Graves, which under normal circumstances is suboptimal but in this case was their only real out. They didn't do it and basically got cuckolded by the Sion.
Those two commentators really liked to build up "the Selfmade's legend".... After seeing so many top junglers in this world championship, are they, for real, still convinced that Selfmade can kick every team's axx? Or just tried to be dramatic?
Selfmade wasn't the problem, he was actually still doing very well even when Fnatic lost. The issue was their imbalanced draft. They lacked magic damage to force Sion to build some MR instead of full armor, nor alternatively a way to bypass him and go straight at the back line. With neither option available they were stuck trying to break through a brick wall and the wall won.
Looking back at these games now I come to realize how good Hyli was and how cowardly Rekkles was... And how most of the casters yet praised Rekkles while if Upset was there they would have won Worlds perhaps.

I think the Galio pick was the issue. They simply didn't have enough AP threat. Veigar in my opinion would have been a great choice for this game.
