This was the best and worst scenario for Fnatic to lose in. On one hand taking two games off TES is great, but being reversed swept is the stuff of nightmares for any competitive player.
Great respect to FNC. They really played well. That’s the spirit of tournament and that’s why we all love this game. FNC will come back in next season.
as a LPL fan I rlly have to say he did quite well, he won the lane in the first two games. Furthermore, I really respect his attitude as a pro player. So sad that he has to be in the same team with such a terrible mid player who never knows how to respect others.
Jackeylove kinda ran it down for most of this series, but knight and Karsa are just a ridiculously good mid/jungle duo when they’re in the zone. Valiant effort from FNC.
Yeah man TES mid/jg synergy is top tier. Honestly I can see why Knight is viewed as so good, he’s just super stable in the mid lane. Makes an impact on the game thru team fights and doesn’t lose lane. It’s not flashy and the team doesn’t revolve around him but he’s definitely consistent as hell.

Amazing series. While i had no doubt tes would make the comeback the reason they struggled so much is because fnc tries to exploit their weak spots ( bot lane). Fnc does better against chinese teams because in contrast to G2 they don't try to match all the time the skirmishes and early aggression of the lpl teams. G2 does and loses because of the individual difference of their players compared to lpls. Fnc instead tries to hit again and again on overextending players. Also conclusions 1) rekkles did more in this series than dl in his whole international career. 2) tes botlane almost lost them the series,they really need to play smarter 3) Karsa might have had the best individual appearance on a series in worlds like ever.

FNC did throw this game, TES wasnt in zone for the first 2 games, and they werent in the 3rd neither, but that trash BP in game 3 from FNC was the turning point for this BO5. After wininng game3, TES found their rhythem and simply took over.
As a LPL fan, I have to say fnc had great performance which brought us excitement and pure joy in this finals. They are well prepared, amazing BP and the strategy targeting at bot lane is undeniably brilliant. FNC almost threw TES in dead zone and push TES to make new history in LOL world champions! Respect to FNC from LPL.

Personally, I was rooting for TES to win this matchup purely because I predicted them to win in the Pick 'em. After all, my favourites are already out. I figured TES would steamroll them, but this series actually had me on the edge of my seat. FNC showed up big time and at one point during the series, I actually had the feeling that TES would lose and that I had taken them way too lightly. I am no fan of FNC, but I'd be delusional to deny how well they played and the respect I have for their performance. They may have lost in the long run, but they have a right to go out with their heads held high. Kudos to you, FNC. You are a seriously impressive team. I won't forget that in the future.

My emotions through out This series : Game 1 : Well i don't expect FNC to win, so i am preparing my self for FNC to lose.(They win). Game 2 : What a clean first game for FNC, Even if they go down, they win a match against TES. Still preparing my self for FNC to lose.(They win). Game 3 : Holy shit they can pull this off with 3 - 0. OMG against the first seed from China. Now i am preparing my self for FNC to win. (They Lost). Game 4 : Well, they still can play this comfortably so it's not lost. Disagree 2 and 4. Rekkles is just doing the damage he should have, coz his team mates created best condition they can have. Knight is not good as well, even not qualified. 369 is the best player in this series instead knight.

After just two hard fought games, FNC thought they were better than TES. The analysts turned against TES. The casters turned against TES. But TES turned around and made history by reverse sweeping FNC in three quick games back into another "could have been".
These horrible casters are always biased. Imo, that's what makes e-sports so cringy, hardly ever there are non biased casters. This entire series, they pretty much blame everything on missplays of Fnatic

TES almost gave me a heart attack. Epic comeback though which goes to show how strong of a region the LPL is. Still, mad respect to Fnatic who gave TES a run for their money. They had a great tournament. But that being said, TES did look shaky in the series so it's looking more likely that Damwon will win worlds this year. Unless G2 dominates Korea again.
@Dmon Blu FPX did not look shaky in the playoff last year, they defeated FNC easily. IG only looked shaky when they played against KT, which is one of the best team in 2018. Their situation is much different than TES now

This is exactly what i was thinking too. It just dont make sense how you win the first two games and lose the next three straight in a row. TES just bullied them and fnc didn't even know. Why is no one mentioning the bot gap in almost all of the games ? FNC duo won lane almost every game and they get 2v2 kills almost every game, in the first 2 games they made jackeylove seem like he was a NA adc.
Jackeylove played like shit but when you play TES you can’t just shut down bot lane. It’s a team game and TES had the ability to carry from all 3 lanes. There is no bot gap when fnatic lost.
Selfmade is lv5 without flash, at that angle, he might hit just Leona, he already thrown his Q so there wasn't much dmg left. So if selfmade E in there, and sylas and lee heal off him, he will just die for nothing. Moreover, both lee and sylas had flash, players of this calibre will be able to react to the Gragas E. If needed, they could just Flash to avoid the AOE dmg, then re-engage.
That implies fnatic should have won. Gaara wins the first half then Rock lee kicks him about then Gaara wins in the end. With Fnatic winning early then losing the next 3 games is not how that fight go's.
Enjoyable series, very well played on both sides. Big shout out for Fnatic though; they made LEC fans proud by getting this far and making this series a lot more competitive than most people were expecting.
After the game was done, Doinb reviewed the whole 5 games, and said, JKL and the whole TES bot lane played very general today. They relies on Karsa so much
e’ing backward is not how he became a world champion, it’s not how he became one of the best adcs in the world and it’s certainly not how he helped win this game. All of those forward E’s is what baited fnatic into taking bad team fights which ultimately lost them the game.

As a chinese i think FNC really get my respect, before today i never thought they can push TOP to the corner. Amazing draft in the first two games. Also supp and top lane plays very well.

The fuck all the team comp was the same basically. It’s fnc going all out with non meta comps and tactics. TES is just going for meta and comfort picks everyone knows about. TES didn’t prepare for anything special. Nonetheless, TES just got throw off but came back at the end.

What a choke! FNATIC played so well in the first two games, one defeat and their mental is gone, TES saw that and dominated in game 4-5. One thing that i like about LPL teams is that they stay mental until the game is really over. Suning x TES will be a great game!
Yeah The best LPL teams are untiltable. You would think that they would’ve been so tilted down 0-2 especially the players who haven’t been at worlds before. Couldn’t have been more wrong, they made adjustments and reverse swept em. Honestly I’m more impressed with this than if it were a easy 3-0. Fnatic is arguably the best EU team right now (because of the meta).
@Neo Dawn TES for sure. They played SN in the semi finals of summer split and 3-0’d them. Despite this, those games were definitely not stomps. SN has their opportunities to win but just got outplayed mid/late game. I do think SN leveled up at worlds so TES won’t beat them so easily. The reason why SN beat JdG was because JDG really only played them once or twice during the summer split. It will be a competitive and great series.
Pretty much. After taking two losses, that just meant that TES had worked FNC out. After _they'd_ taken even _one_ loss, that meant FNC were broken. Chinese teams don't break, which is why they come back. Western teams crumple like soggy cardboard the instant momentum turns against them. That's why FNC and G2 both got 3-0'd with _contemptuous_ ease in the grand final for the last 2 years.
That was the most important and disappointing series in history of League of Legends. If FNC won, Rekkles, Nemesis and Selfmade careers would be way different than they were since 2020. Moreover, FNC would've had great chances of winning it all that year.
The TOP team's ADC and support were in sluggish form for the first two games, while FNC's mid was out of form for the rest of the game and didn't even know what he was supposed to do. Although FNC's top is okay, and the bottom ADC and support are still in shape, the overall pace has been broken up by TOP. Especially the TOP's Jungle and top, have been creating opportunities for other teammates, withstanding the damage and pressure, the situation has slowly tilted towards the TOP's side.

Why is no one mentioning the bot gap in almost all of the games ? FNC duo won lane almost every game and they get 2v2 kills almost every game, in the first 2 games they made jackeylove seem like he was a NA adc.
Jackeylove played like shit but when you play TES you can’t just shut down bot lane. It’s a team game and TES had the ability to carry from all 3 lanes. There is no bot gap when fnatic lost.

SN has their opportunities to win but just got outplayed mid/late game. I do think SN leveled up at worlds so TES won’t beat them so easily. The reason why SN beat JdG was because JDG really only played them once or twice during the summer split. It will be a competitive and great series.
Pretty much. After taking two losses, that just meant that TES had worked FNC out. After _they'd_ taken even _one_ loss, that meant FNC were broken. Chinese teams don't break, which is why they come back. Western teams crumple like soggy cardboard the instant momentum turns against them. That's why FNC and G2 both got 3-0'd with _contemptuous_ ease in the grand final for the last 2 years.
That was the most important and disappointing series in history of League of Legends. If FNC won, Rekkles, Nemesis and Selfmade careers would be way different than they were since 2020. Moreover, FNC would've had great chances of winning it all that year.

Although FNC's top is okay, and the bottom ADC and support are still in shape, the overall pace has been broken up by TOP.
