I bought a cheap spline tool on eBay and the socket didn’t fit over the 17mm axle nut nicely like yours does. I had to hammer it onto the axle. Just so some other viewers know .
The pro tip here is to remove the axle 👍! Thanks for the anecdote because it happens a lot with the older stuff.
