I've just seen this video for the first time. Look forward to seeing you get the old girl running. Good luck with it.
Thanks for watching.
Looks like there's been decades of neglect even before it went into storage but these model A's just seem to be indestructible just a bowl of TLC and it's good for year's of enjoyment!! Great video! Thanks.
Thanks for watching.
Mitch is my go to guy when I have questions on my 30 model A coupe ! Congratulations and thanks for sharing your knowledge of the model A
Your gas tank is Mint! My Texas 31 roadster that was the only rust through I had. My oil pan leaked from the stripped drain plug and the rear seal. My engine was seized because of a cracked head and bad gasket so the engine required piston removal..., a dingle ball hone..., and 5 valves replaced and valve seats reground before putting on a fresh head and gaskets.
Keep up the good work and congratulations on finding a fairly unmolested Roadster!
Thanks. Once those tanks get water in them, they don't last long. I think I will have to seal this one. There is some rust on the side seam as well.
What a beautiful classic car! Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Thanks for watching.
this was very interesting, in 1962 I was 15 and saved money, bought a 31 Ford 2 door sedan for $100. I wish I still had that car. I plan on watching all your videos..
Thank you for watching. Would have been a good long term investment.

Can’t wait to see the progress, thank you for sharing with us. This is one of my dream builds. ~ 🦎
Awesome! Thanks for watching.
What a beauty! Glad I found ya man, love people keeping old metal things alive, new sub and looking forward to seeing this gem alive! Cheers from PNW Canada!
Thanks for watching and the sub.
Good video. Well edited and love the content and delivery.
Hopefully you are a master metal worker!!
Can’t wait for the next one
Thank you for watching. I am far from a master metal worker but luckily the car is pretty solid and I have no intention of making it "nice".
looking forward to part 2 ! I subscribed , & hit the bell for notifications , so hopefully I will be notified ? I
did a lot of work on a 1945 ford p.u. with flat head v8 for a old guy , truck was in nice shape , ran well , 1 day he calls me & says
the truck wouldn't start & the battery was flat dead 6 volt . anyway, so I go over & check it out , here the bushings in the starter
were worn out to the point that when the Bendix drive spun out into the ring gear ,the Bendix drive got jammed under the ring gear, and severely discharged the battery that stayed engaged !! lucky the truck didn't catch fire !!!!
MORALE of the story , we rebuilt the starter " WITH NEW BUSHINGS " & that never happened again ! you can see how that huge Bendix drive hanging out that far was tough on the support bushings !! later design starters have a tail shaft bushing
into the starter nose to help support the whole shaft far better!!!
NOTE # SOON AS YOU FIGURED OUT THAT THE STARTER WAS HUNG UP , KEEPING THE MOTOR FROM TURNING OVER ,
THE LIGHT BULB CAME ON & I REMEMBERED THAT FORD FLAT HEAD V8 , THAT DID THE EXACT SAME THING AND JAMMED THE MOTOR TOO !! ( CHECK OUT THOSE BUSHINGS ) ??? maybe why the car got parked ? she wasn't puttin any more money in that old car , when the motor stuck !!! ( here it was just a worn out starter " bushings " & got jammed up ) ??
GOOD LUCK & KEEP UP THE GOOD VIDEOS !!!!! P.S. CARS HAVE BEEN PARKED OVER SOME OF THE SIMPLEST REASONS !!!
Thanks for watching. The bushings seem pretty good. It's looking like there were probably a number of reasons why it was parked. Still working on part 2.
Всегда мечтал вот так как Вы реставрировать автомобили. Классика она всегда была есть и останется в любое время. Зато я их рисую акварелью именно старые ржавые автомобили того старого доброго времени. Вы молодцы что дате им жизнь! 😊😊😊
Outstanding Sir ! Great to see another A get saved.Keep us up on the progress with your new project. Our 28 Tudor is up on stands presently,so seeing A videos makes me wish I could take her down and hea out.We are also in the north east so with the salt and snow down it'll have to a wish at this point. Thanks again for your time.
Thanks for watching. I feel your pain. I would love to take one of the As out in the snow but the road treatments are brutal up here.
Really great find. Interesting to see it has both rear and side spare tire mounts. Perhaps a result of the fender/splash apron swap. Also interesting to see the added cowl tab to hold the windshield in place. Apparently not just a problem of those of us with repro stanchions.
Thanks for watching. It's hard to say what the history is with the fenders and spare mounts. I'm pretty sure the doors and hood are from another car as well. It will be interesting to see the frame VIN once I pull the body.
Very interesting content. I have followed other Model A sites but found your presentation refreshing. I used your tips about 1930 v 1931 identifiers to confirm my uncles Delux coup was a 1930.
Thank you.
Good job Mitch.
Thank you.
After the Shelby, I'm def excited to see where this goes Mitch.
'Not even get to see the man bounce off the prop' sounds funnier 🤣🤣🤣
Haha. Funnier yes, but I'd still rather see Winslett.
Saving on gym membership freeing up motor
Haha. Yeah. It works better with more people to help.
congrats on the find!
Thanks for watching.
Lovely roadster! Seeing the crusty underside sure gives be a bad reminder of what I delt with on my 25 t roadster, I’m at the halfway point on mine.
Thanks for watching. Luckily, other than the floor pans, it looks to me mostly surface rust underneath.
Followed simply because your a fellow Mainer
Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Greetings from another Mainer, Fun and interesting video. I'm searching for a 31 pickup
The 31 is a great looking pickup. Good luck in your search.
I may have misunderstood but Did you say you paid $500 for the 31" roadster? That is a steal. The car is in good shape given the age.
No. I mentioned that it was around $500 new. I paid several times that for it. Thanks for watching.
Brilliant video man can't wait to see more
Thank you for watching.
I enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching
Just ran into you on RUclips you're pretty entertaining great video
Thank you very much!
Ok you got my attention 👍🏻
Thanks for watching.
The combo I saw in your trunk latch, 420! (used to be the Master #)
Haha. I'll have to go and rewatch it.
Its not as bad as 30 yr old gas because theres no ethanol
Thanks for watching.
The gas tank is perfectly usage if you clean it out.
I'm hoping it will clean up without any pinholes.
Iron trap garage for plenty parts if you don't know them. Cold war motors revived a model T with paintwork like that. Looked good. Great old car. Be good to see it cleaned up as is. Kept as is. Good luck. Ok just subed . I follow along.
I am familiar with the Irontrap guys. Thanks for watching and I am planning on leaving it looking pretty much the same.
@@Maine_A_S yep it's a great find. But I think I would have pulled the head off. For the sake of ten studs. I just pulled a garage find after thirty years in Sweden. Two cylinders oxidised up badly it never would have turned and still won't with heads off. . Mortske will it runs a lot of flatheads fords. Fun to watch. Hopefully your valves are not stuck. Good luck.
Nice video!
Thanks for watching.
I notice the maine plates .you in maine?I am I just picked up a 30 coupe with rumble seat.
Yes. I'm in the central area.
Be careful you might snap the drive for the oil pump ,mustie 1 did that to a car he is on utube
I did check the distributor first and it wasn't frozen.
Is the coil suppose to be mounted upside down I was always told oil filled coils were not to be mounted that way epoxy coils is OK that way
That was how they came. Thanks for watching
Subbed....
Thank you.
It will. I know from experience.
It did run. It probably wouldn't for long though.
It looks like it s in mint. Condition to me
It's mint alright.
That's Deps-Tech...
I don't think it's a pice of shit, and in case you haven't noticed it's 2023 now ,your reading build numbers from almost a century ago,I can guarantee you this is a rare car, cars do get scraped with time ,and these were scraped by the boat load,,it's actually a really nice and solid car with a good history, and for gods sake don't rat rod this car sell it on and give someone a chance to save and preserve this rare gem.
Thanks for watching. I'm not much for rat rods. The problem with most Model As is that it costs more to restore them than they are worth restored. I will likely leave the body just like you see it.
Have not heard him use foul language at all.
Awe heck.
5:26 5:28
Not interested in foul language at all!
To each their own. Thanks for watching.
Windy ! Your crack about Biden was uncalled for. Talk less (shows less errors in judgement) talk less and do something !
Haha. Thanks for watching.
I personally found it hilarious!😅
@@twinkie27271 Thank you. I'm not for everyone I guess.
If you expect to get anywhere in youtube world, I would suggest you drop your political references, ie your Biden slam. Your project has nothing to do with weirded out politics of the day & many retreat to youtube to get away from that crap. You'll end up with more subscribers as well.
Agree 100%.
There is nothing political about it. I poke fun at a creep who has inappropriate interactions with young girls. That's it. Thanks for watching.
@@Maine_A_S The "creep" you're referring to happens to be our current President, who I should point out has no pending cases against him for such "interactions", unlike the previous President who currently has assorted cases pending. In your eyes, does Trump qualify as a "creep"? Again, this crap is considered political, which will kill your budding channel.
Again, nothing to do with politics. Take it however you would like. Thanks again for watching.
@@Maine_A_S Yes your comment was 100% political and every bit false. Now you are allowed to believe any lie you want, but be ready to have people call you on it. There is NOTHING funny about being accused like you are accusing President Biden. If you feel the need to attack someone for there inappropriate sexual actions, then go after the one that brags about assaulting women.
Crazy animal
Thanks, I think?
I'm new to the channel and I really like it.Your Biden joke make me spit out my cold beverage, 😂 Keep them coming please, I'm so sick of woke ass channels. Good luck and I can't wait for the next video!
Thanks for watching.
