    this is my favorite because it lasts so long. the stila felt tip and any other felt tips ive tried dries out in a month but this one can last me 6-8 months and i use it every single day

      MsPinkaholic0405 WOW, 6-8 months! That's definitely getting your money's worth. Sometimes you don't mind paying extra when it's a quality product.

      MsPinkaholic0405 Same here! I love my Stila liquid eye liner and have been using it for months, surprisingly lasting me a long time. Recently purchased the Kat von D tattoo liner and oh my goodness, love it! It is definitely a lot easier for me to use, I can create a winged liner quicker, and it stays put. I've tried drugstore brand liquid liners but none of them are easy to use :(

    I have this in the classic shade 'trooper' and I love it. It's a matte black, lasts a really long time (it's waterproof and smudge-proof), and it's really easy to get a thin line. I think the matte finish of this and its preciseness is what sets it apart from other liquid liners. I think it's worth the price, personally.

    I think this review is an example of why you are one of my favorite you tubers. You are honest and upfront about the fact that there are lower cost equivalents. I am a liquid liner novice and I love this product. Your review was dead on. It really is a quality product. Thanks to you and some of the commenters here I am anxious to try the physician's formula.
    Thanks for bringing us the 'real' story instead of just pushing some high end product we don't need.

    Favorite liner ever, holy grail status for me. The cap on this is so good, your product will last forever too. The black is like a satin matte and I have oily kids and this does not transfer on me.

    Love the Kat Von d! Could you please do a video reviewing the best liquid liners both high end and drugstore! I'm in need of one! I've heard of the physicians formula lash booster and I'm wondering if it's comparable.

      @emilytonder4689 9 лет назад +2

      I know I am not Emily Eddington but I have tried the Kat Von D and the Physicians formula last boosted liquid liner and it is definitely comparable! It has a brush tip and is amazing. It lasts forever, is easy to apply, and has wonderful staying power.

    • @BecaGee89
      @BecaGee89 9 лет назад

      I like the Kat Von D a tad bit better. Physicians formula is not as black, and the formula tends to run on me when I apply before it dries. I don't have oily lids nor do I have particularly watery eyes either. The tattoo liner is just a really dependable product for me.

    • @emmTemm
      @emmTemm 9 лет назад

      Thanks for the feedback! I've heard that the PF one is not as black too which was my fear. I LOVE the kat von D one and am trying to find a cheaper alternative that is both super black, very fine, and lasts ALL day considering i have oily lids. Do you guys have any suggestions?

    • @emilytonder4689
      @emilytonder4689 9 лет назад

      +Emm t I have super oily lids and it lasts all day for me! I would buy it at Ulta or Walmart (any place that offers open returns) and give it a try! I find that the black is very pigmented and it really does last all day on me.

    • @christinak1759
      @christinak1759 9 лет назад

      +Emm t I have slightly oily lids and I find that even if I don't use any eyeshadow, using a primer helps A TON (set it with translucent powder or your skin tone) but you need a primer that isn't too thin or liquid.. something like urban decays primer, I've been recently using Tartes CC primer chubby pencil and it really really helps with oily lids especially with a water resistant liner like Tattoo liner

      Joanna Benson They used to carry the Jesse's girl eyeliner at Rite Aid but they stopped carrying it. The only option is to order online through the website. I wait until there is a promotion like $20 in items and you get free shipping. I bought 3 pens and that should last until the end of next year. Try buying it from the website and use a coupon code!

      +Joanna Benson You might be able to find it at some select Rite Aids. Each Rite Aid seems to carry different Jess's Girl products. I've seen it at some, and not at others. It's the weirdest thing. But Groupon regularly has it for deals on 2 of them, so there's always that =).

    This liner in Trooper is my current favorite! It definitely is beginner-friendly. The brush tip makes it more flexible and easier to apply a thin/medium line, even 6 months later. I have that Jordana liner, but for me, it was a little harder to apply and it would start to flake off and get in the crease a couple hours later. To be fair though, I haven't tried it again after I realized eyeshadow primer made any eyeliner (no matter the cost/brand) stay perfect. I guess I've gotten comfortable too! I'll give it a shot again, and in Jordana' defense, every single liner no matter type, price, and brand gets in my crease (all eyeshadows do too). I have liquid liners from Stila, Ciate, Kat Von D, Essence, ELF, Starlooks Pro, L.A.Splash, and Jordana. Pencil liners from Sephora Collec., NYC, Bare Minerals, Wet N Wild, and Eyetini. Also, gel liners from Rimmel and Benefit. My oily lids beat them all without primer!

    I remember purchasing this product right when it came out, five years ago. At the time I felt the product to be really watery and not very pigmented. I recently repurchased this liner and the improvements are outstanding!
    I've been wearing a winged eyeliner for over 5 years now and I'd super recommend this to anyone!!
    I also have a serious case of the "shaking hands syndrome" so this liner is really good if you're like me.

    I've tried so many different liquid and gel liners and I found they always flaked or faded after a few hours. This liner lasts Forever!!! Super easy to apply, lasts a ridiculous long time, and it's easy to remove. I use the the Balea makeup wipes (from Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada,) and it takes it off no problem. This is a holy grail for me

    This is my favorite liquid eyeliner EVER!!!!!!! I have both shades and honestly I can say it's one of my holy grail products. It's long wearing, it doesn't smudge ( at least not on me) and at the end of the day it looks like when I first applied it. I don't know if it's waterproof or not, but I have teared up while wearing it and it doesn't run. Love, love, love this eyeliner!!!!

    Physicians Formula has the Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Brush-Tip Eyeliner + Serum. My CVS has them for $10.49, and I usually pick them up when they do their Spend $10, Get $7 ExtraCare Bucks sale on Physicians formula. I love the product and have 5 backups so I'm never without it. I find it dries really quickly and does not budge! It's one of the only liners I've found that doesn't smudge off throughout the day. I wear contacts and usually mess with my eyes a lot, so it's been tested pretty well. You should definitely try it out and do a comparison!

    I love this liner. I have never used a liquid liner before. I only use a Revlon Color Stay twist up crayon eyeliner. I love this Kat Von D Eyeliner. I use it to fill in where the crayon misses very near the eyelashes on my upper lid to make it more intense. I have had it a year and has not dried out yet. I am still trying to work out using a pen eyeliner alone. I just have had the most difficult time perfecting it with hooded eyes. I absolutely love the Kat Von D liner. The foundation is great too!

    I have the Physician's Formula Lash Serum eyeliner that you're thinking of and the Kat Von D Tattoo liner.
    The darkest black that PF makes isn't as dark as KVD's black. This wouldn't be as big of an issue for someone who has lighter skin but the darker your skin is, the more the liner looks like a gray-black. The PF applicator is very similar in style but not as precise as the KVD liner.
    Overall, the PF is a good subsitute if you're not concerned about the pigmentation and you don't have issues with liners not holding up on your lids.

    Hey Emily, I love the Kat Von D Liner. As you said it has great pigment and ease of application. But I would like to add that the liquid is just the right consistency. I have gotten to the age where I have a little crepiness on my eyelids. Most liquid liners will travel a bit into those fine lines. However, the Kat Von D liner gives me a perfect line every time. Additionally, the product itself lasts a long time without drying out.
    Another similar liner that I would like to try is the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner.

    I got the Tattoo Liner in Trooper a few months ago and you're so right, it makes application so easy. But I actually took a tip from NikkieTutorials who outlines her wing with KVD first and then fills it in with the NYC liner. I love them both but this way I feel like I'm gonna get my KVD to last a lot longer. Perfect wings every time.

    Lately I've heard some bad reviews of this where people seem to have problem with the black one not being black enough, but more of a watercolorish-black aka more on the grey side. I've never tried it anything from Kat von D since it isn't available in Sweden yet, but I would love to get my hands on one of her eyeshadow palettes which seems amazing!

    I love this eyeliner cause it makes it soooo easy to apply, but the price is what stops me from repurchasing. Especially since Physicians formula has an eyeliner in a silver tube that is a dupe for this which i love and use as well(not the same finish, but the process of ease in applying is the same). Thanks for the review.

    Ooohh I'm always on the lookout for liquid liners so I had to click this right away when I saw it on my subscription feed! I have oily skin and the best liquid liner I have come across as to its opacity and staying power (it's hard when your country doesn't carry most brands) is the WnW waterproof eyeliner but the felt tip isn't thin enough to do a precise crisp wing for me. The Loreal one isnt as opaque but it's so much easier to use. The Maybelline one smudges on me. As much as I love liquid liners, I just struggle so much lol. Thanks for this review!

    All I could think about while you were reviewing this product was my personal holy grail PHYSICIANS FORMULA LINER, that has literally been with me through everything. It has even survived with me for ONE MONTH in the hot humidity of traveling in Asia. I can't remember the whole "exact" name, but it's the one in a silver tube that claims to also lengthen your lashes. I have had the same liner for 2-3 months now and it's still as "juicy" as I could remember it being. I wear it literally everyday for 10-12 hours throughout my long work shifts and school hours and it still lasts and lasts. I promise you, you will love it. No doubt! ❤️❤️❤️

    Awesome review! Have you ever tried the Calligraphy liner set from Laura Geller. I absolutely LOVE them. They're felt tip, but I feel like they are extremely soft and easy to apply. The color is nice and rich and I've had them for well over a year and they have never faded. You actually get a long precision tip, a slanted tip, & a more classic tip. three separate pens. also can tight line with them and they stay put pretty well. they do not irritate my eyes.

    I'm in love with this liner too! I have a hard time with most felt tip eyeliners because I have somewhat wrinkled/textured eyelids and the felt tip ones bleed and make it so difficult to have a nice, precise line. Anyone with a similar issue should definitely try the KVD eyeliners.

      warnerkat I understand the loyalty to certain manufacturers. When company owners put themselves out there and make a good product, it makes it nice for the consumer. {Kat Von D seems to be a very interesting person, and very sweet.} But the price of some things! Are we getting the once-over? Kat just ran a feature where $1 of each liner pen sale went to help Seals (I think it was). Come on now -- one dollar?! Okay, maybe it does cost a lot to make one of her liner pens. Or maybe not. Sorry for being a lunatic, but I don't want us to get ripped off. We work too hard for our money. I splurge on some stuff. Is her liner really worth that much? If you slightly agree with my rant, please let me know. Otherwise, I won't get "too" offended if you tell me to mind my own business! (+: Thanks for hearing me out, WarnerKat! I didn't mean to take it out on you. We love our face paint, or else we wouldn't be here on Emily's channel. Thanks! Again, sorry. De

    Jesse's Girl and Physicians Formula both have a brush tipped liquid liner. Jesse's Girl is exactly the same and applies just as easily as the KVD but is SO MUCH HARDER to find in store for some reason! I love the KVD liner - I really love the thin line I get from it and the ease of application and it's easy to make a winged liner on my semi-hooded lids with that pen. I've had it for awhile now, too, and it still writes as well as the day I opened it. Great product but YES absolutely it is pricey and I don't think it is a NECESSARY piece to have, it's really just super convenient. :)

    Lorac front of the line pro liquid liner! My HG! It has those fine plastic "hairs" that form what looks like a felt tip. I may try out this one now since its so similar. And since KVD is saying she's going vegan with the line!

    Physicians formula eye booster in "ultra back" is the same type of brush applicator and is my all time favorite!! I used the kat Von d one forever until I found the physicians formula one ! It's awesome

    The Tarte felt tip liner was so hard! The tip is very firm & product wouldn't flow no matter how hard I tried. Also, have we seen this make-up tutorial? Love the pinks!!

    I love the physicians formula lash booster in dark brown. They have a thinner pen and a thicker one. I really like the thicker one because I have arthritis in my hands, and I can get a better grip on it. It flows beautifully and makes a nice smooth line. Another plus is that it lasts an incredible time for me without drying out! It really is my holy grail eyeliner.

    the physicians formula is a dead on dupe ! it's only a few bucks cheaper but more accessible for people and you can usually get good deals on it. I've used both liners for years and years, both will last for ages too, they don't dry out !

    I have the new felt-tip Kat Von D liner and it's my holy grail. I tried ones from NYX and Rimmel, hoping I could find a good cheap one, but both feel dry after barely any use. The Kat Von D liner really is juicy all the time like Emily said

    Jesse's Girl & Physician's Formula 2 in 1 Eye Booster are quite comparable to the Kat Von D Tattoo liner, but I agree, nothing drops the product quite as easily, plus keeps the tip perfect for quite as long as the Kat Von D one does (in my opinion)

I have heard wonderful things about Kat Von D liners, but just never bit the bullet, after your review I just may. Thanks so much or sharing your honest thoughts with us as always, I know I can depend on you for honesty no matter what! Have a Wonderful week Emily.

    I tried this liner and the Stila stay all day one and I had major issues with both. I tried everything but they were both so watery and not pigmented I had to return them. Plus both crumbled off my eyes between hours 4 and 5. I do have very oily eyelids though. They seemed to swatch fine on my hand but not on my eyes. Liquid liners are def my fav. My high-end go to liner is the Makeup Forever Ink Liner.
    Thanks for the review! Too bad this didn't work for me.

    I love mine in Trooper. I had a sample that I used very frequently-at least 5x a week. It never dried out and lasted a year! I also feel it's very black and wears well compared to others I e tried.

    I SUCK with liquid liner and of course with something in a liquid form like NYC or Jordana practice makes perfect. .. BUT I never had the patience soo I would buy gel pencil liners and I can still get a very precise wing or smudge it or whatever I just find it easier and then I got a sample of Kat Von D tattoo liner in Trooper (3 actually) and suddenly I am IN LOVE WITH LIQUID LINERS IN PEN FORM.. I did have an *adjustment period* but it took very little practice to master it!

    I used to use Maybelline Line Stiletto and I think what this (the Kat Von D) has over it is twofold. 1) It can get SO MUCH closer to the lash line! Love that. And 2) it doesn't "pull" off product when you curl your eyelashes. This is sort of... inky, which I like because it really feels like skin :) Just my two cents!

    The Kat Von D liners (the ink one as well) are my holy grail eyeliners, and I have repurchased and will continue to. I've tried tons of drug store and high end eyeliners, and this one lasts the longest, easiest of use, smudge proof, great color payoff and the product doesn't dry out quickly. I have only used Trooper, but I would LOVE if she came out with a purple or teal. This is better than the Jordana version I used previously (that dries out much faster) as well as the Jessie's Girl and even the Marc Jacobs pen liner in my opinion. Totally worth the price.

    You should try Maybelline's Hyper Sharp liner. It's been out in Asia for quite a bit but I don't know if it's in the U.S. yet. It's one of my favorite liners. ALMOST smudge and sweat proof for humid weather. Not waterproof though.

    I've been using liquid liners as well for quite a while, and quite a few of them. This one by far is my favorite. With other liners they'd be okay but there was always one thing that bothered me. They either be annoying to apply with, not very opaque, wear off easily, fade, or were difficult to remove. I've tried dupes of this and they aren't dupes really. Too many pens don't emit liquid as easily, they fade super easy, or transfer onto my eyelids

    I got this in black, and struggle with liquid liners aswell as tip liners... so I take an angled brush, take some product and then apply... I know, sort of a waste of time but I'm scared it'll look wiggly on my lids...
    But the colour's awesome, and there's a sort of sponge inside the cap that keeps it from drying and that's great !

    Try the jesse's girl eyeliner pen. It's silver packaging, but comes in a black shade. I sampled it from IPSY. It has a brush applicatior similar to the kat Von d. It's cheap. Rite aide carries the brand. See how that may compare. Not sure if the same but worth seeing if a dupe

    I've had such bad luck with felt tip liners. I've tried L'Oreal, NYX, bh cometics, and a few others. I switched back to liquid liner a few weeks ago because the pens always dry up on me sooner than I expect. I don't use liner that often so maybe that's why. All I know is they always run out at the most inconvenient times!

    I have a couple of the tattoo liners that I bought right a while after they first came out and I don't know if I got old product or what, but I've always had a problem with them skipping and dropping color and also migrating off of my lash line. This was a product I wanted to love, as I have never been comfortable with liquid liner (until very recently, and am still learning the ropes), but maybe I should try these again! The ones I had dried out super fast too :/ but I've heard such good things about the tattoo liners.

    You are correct! Physicians formula 3 in 1 eyebooster has a liquid brush tip. I use it all the time, however the actual product is just okay, it smudges easily and is not waterproof. If I could find a brush tip pen that Is waterproof I would be all over that!

    idk if you have it in the states but here in canada, my all time favorite drugstore eyeliner is the Marcelle dual-tip eyeliner pen. it's $14 which is quite pricey for a drugstore product but i absolutely love it! (i got mine when it was on sale for $11) one tip is a fine felt tip and the other is an ultra fine brush tip :)
