@@zgoaty9235 Very much agree. It is a required upgrade for either the Super GPU options and they both can pump out some impressive numbers. ELuktronics is very much bringing out the best versions of these machines as they can and unleashing their true power in such a small package. I bought one and got rid of my gs75- this device is great. the deck is awesome and is probably the best ive used that resist fingerprints. got an AMAZING deal for it from the official eluktronics new egg store for 1499.99--------------yes for 1499.99. I've been disappointed with tong F chassis build quality----- this is a superstar. I really appreciate the review and appreciate eluktronics for offering these devices of high quality configurations for the best competitive pricing. Awesome stuff
It's still alot cheaper than the competition so I wasn't to broken up about it. The 2080 Super Max-q model I have is very capable of hitting over 150 fps in even some hard to run games.
I needed a laptop for intense computations that occasionally can benefit from a GPU. It should also be a lightweight laptop because I move everyday from home to office. I looked into Dell XPS 15, MSI GS66, and Asus G14. But this MAX 15 is hands down the best choice considering the price, weight, and overall, boosted performance. Would be perfect with a XPS-like bottomless bezel and camera on the upper side of the screen. Thanks for the great review.
What did you end up buying? I'm thinking the 16:9 aspect ratio might be forgivable at this display size. Looks like they moved the camera to the top this year.
@@confidentlocal8600 I bought last year's max15 with rtx 2070 super and been using it for almost a year now. It's been great, definitely better than my roommate's Dell XPS (he bought it at the same time). I've had zero problems with it, unlike my friend, which is a bit strange considering XPS is supposed to have a higher build quality. This year's max15 seems to be even better. Other than the webcam location, I only have two complaints: bad audio quality and very heavy charger. (You can buy two chargers, one for home, one for the office.)
Great video, recently ordered the updated Max-15 and I’m glad to see the MUX switch something I didn’t even know was coming! Thank you for this in depth video!
You are getting better and better my friend👏 highly suggest to make your future reviews same with this one and you will most likely to get million subs in a year. Why? Because this is it already! This concept will be your edge among other reviewers.
Max 17 takes no prisoners Boosted voltage and MUX for MaX battery makes gamers happy. MAX 17 is slim, sleek stealthy high powered a Jekyll and Hyde Laptop in disguise hit that Mux switch and its beast mode on FTW this is how you do a gaming laptop. Great review Bob.
Can we get a comparison video with the MAX-17 and RP-17? I'm personally between the two so if there's a possibility on getting that video I'll definitely wait.
ACE112ACE112 Yeah I’m expecting better gpu performance of course but I wanna see how big the difference is since it is a boosted 2060 and I want to see the cpu performance comparison as well as just the overall ergonomics of the two side by side.
@@ACE112ACE112 not really. You either want a budget built AMD system or you want a high quality built Intel system. Unfortunately, these manufacturers aren't currently putting together quality AMD systems. Everything about the MAX 17 is better, except for the CPU.. Can you believe that?
Like early 2021? Is there a general time frame for when the new ryzen chips will finally get to be paired with the 2070 and 2070 super variant? I'm debating on getting this max 17. But if the wait isn't TOO long, I'd easily wait it out.
Very solid review 👌. 17.3" laptop, such a powerful and power hungry hardware, 99 WHr battery and still weights below 5 lbs, is really a great design. I just wish they could release a Ryzen 4000 version with 90 WHr battery which could be both a powerhouse and travel companion, considering Ryzen 7 4800H consumes lot less power. They could have implemented that Fn key switch directly in Windows using Fn+ESC, like Lenovo does. Another interesting thing is the only IGP Mode which actually saves battery than Optimus mode even using integrated graphics. If I remember correctly, this feature was available in Lenovo IdeaPad 720 with 7700HQ+GTX 1050 To and you showed that in your review of that laptop.
Great review Bob, i've got my max 17 and have been waiting eagerly to hear your thoughts on it. Where do i download this new bios update, I didn't see that info in the review or description. Thanks again for being so thorough, I definitely learned some tricks for this laptop in your video!
This is insane honestly higher voltage gpu and full control of performance/ heat management. it checked all the boxes for me, again thank you so much i never knew what this brand was capable of. Just ordered it thanks to you

Hi Bob! Thanks to your review I am now the proud owner of a MAX-17. Great laptop, regret nothing, maybe just the camera position, but everything else is just great. I was undecided between the MSI GS 75 and the MAX 17, but your in depth review won me over. Been using it for 3D CAD software more than gaming, and it does a great job. Plus the price was a no brainer against other brands with similar specs.
Simply wow. I'll just wait for the Max-15 review to decide which one I'm going to buy and love for the rest of my life. Great review and great job from Eluktronics
Best review by a country mile that I have seen so far in 2020 it's hard to believe that Electronics has a machine like this that literally in about every aspect crushes every laptop in its class including in my opinion the zephyrus line for hundreds of dollars less and the bios options you have available to you along with sick battery life it's no contest 2020 laptop of the year!! Bob exellent review!! Best ever and you have made many great ones!!
Eluktronics with a ryzen 4000 series chip with voltage adjustment in the bios. mwah! perfecto! I would have never even considered Eluktronics until I started watching your channel. Now I can't imagine buying any other brand. Great review as always!
Bob, personally all your videos are the best, great and detailed review as always, since the MAX lineup was made in collaboration with Intel, AMD really needs to have a collaboration with Eluktronics to make some amazing AMD laptops. stay safe bud and thank you for making these amazing and informative videos.
I received my Eluktronics Max-17 RTX 3070 variant today and spent most of the day setting it up. WOW is this thing light weight! Love it. And an absolute beast when maxing out the 3070 to 140w and giving the CPU max power limits. Such a night and day difference from my Aorus 17G RTX 3070 laptop with only 105w limit. Eluktronics Control Center is wonderful. Puts Gigabytes to shame. Miss the Mechanical Keyboard but this things is just stellar otherwise.
Awesome reviews and content in general. Your channel has been an invaluable resource for my recent laptop search. I settled on the MAX-17 because of your great information. Subscribed!
For gaming performance with liquid metal cooled version of this laptop, ruclips.net/video/eVpsedqJRTw/видео.html i7 10875h with 2070 Super with same chasis .
Good video and I have the Max 15 version. It's a good laptop but not perfect, the keyboard lighting is pretty bad, there is no way to set the lighting to white color and the keys have a lot of light leaking around the keys while the letters on the keys are not very well lit. If Eluktronics would put a better keyboard in it, it would be great.
After watching this, I've been wondering why up until now other manufacturers cannot do this on their product lines, this offer much control and at the same time give ease to those who dont want to tweak. Btw, excellent review Bob!
I'm so happy this review came out i preordered the vaper 17x (max17) 3 months ago and I should be getting it first week of July. I was bringing to lose hope. This review has just put my hope back into the laptop so glad I'm waiting for this beast. Thanks Bro
Waiting for this Bob, finally here. Thank you Bob you are the best reviewe i have ever seen you take a look on the true reality of the products, giving real reviews, not just reading specs and benchmark.
Hi Bob, Really like the detailed approach!! I think its crucial for any consumer or enthusiasts to get much info as possible before deciding on any new devices. You are doing the right thing the right way, I am aspired to it. When you have time, please show us (Mag15 users) how to undervolt without breaking our units. Thanks and keep going!!
Looks like the Maingear Element 3 is the same chassis as this, $1900@Micro Center for 17.3" 240Hz with 10875H, 2070 Super, 32GB of DDR4-2933 and 1TB NVMe SSD.
Why did they add an extra switch for fan boost for gaming and beast instead of just having 5 profiles instead of 3? Just adds an extra level of confusion. Are they implying the fan boost is needed to not damage the thing in the long run? Just does not seem logical to me.
Bob Of All Trades I never said giving a choice is bad. I said making it confusing is bad. Why not give 5 profiles (office, gaming, fanless gaming, beast, fanless beast) instead of having these two separate knobs? This screams bad UX to me.
nice finally, I just started to watch this then I thought I could save this video for later. but hey i can still watch it as much as I want so I resumed watching...
This video seemed more like a tutorial than a review. It would be nice to understand where this laptop stands in its class in terms of weight, display, thermals, battery life, etc. A few negatives I picked up for me personally - they should have maxed out the battery to 100 wh, the TB3 port should accept charging from a battery or 65-100w adapter, up-firing speakers would be great in a 17"er, and nose cams should just not be a thing anymore (Gigabyte, you too).
I have just received the same device and thanks to you, I am more and more comfortable with it! Now, I want bios uptade, control center changes and MUX is the best thing so far! You are the best! Never leave use..
Hey Bob! Got my Max-17 a week ago, been running lots of tests, the DPC latency was of interest to me. I found that disabling the wireless and using a wired connection gave better DPC latency, still not great, but certainly better. Update on this, disable Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) under network adapters and DPC latency comes down a lot.
Three questions. 1. Can 2070 maxp be Electroboosted as well as 2070 super maxp ? 2. How does the 15 size chasis perform on thermal ? 3. Do u think it worth 300 dollars to upgrade into 2070 super with 244 hz panel?
Great Review Bob Really appreciate the organization of the video I now feel informed enough to decide on my purchase. Looking forward to more of your work
Great video as usual mate and solid product from Eluktronics. That said I really wish it had a Ryzen 4900HS/H chip. Dear Eluktronics. Please give us high end and premium options running Ryzen. My personal dream laptop would be a mix of Aero 17, XPS 17 and Mac Pro 16. Something like: Color Accurate 4k 16:10 screen like XPS17 Ryzen 4900HS/H RTX2070mq/2080mq 2x RAM for 32/64GB ram 2x NVME Couple of TB3 ports with PD, 1 USB A, Ethernet 2.5G, Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 Mic array and speakers as good as MacBook pro 16 99whr battery
they should give us AMD 4800h with nvida above 2060 in future, because they are not asus, lenovo, dell or other knowing companys that Intel Pays under the table.
Hey Bob, have you looked at CyberPowerPC as an alternative to Eluktronics? It looks like they are selling gaming laptops with the same chassis as the new covert MECH 15 G3 and MAX 15/17 but for hundreds of dollars less. For example, here is their Tracer IV 17 Slim 600 (MAX-17 equivalent) with the RTX 2080 Super for $2,255: www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Tracer-IV-17-Slim-600
I’ve been really enjoying these reviews. I do have a request: to add a section for streaming as well. I know not everyone does it, but these gaming PCs performance can factor in the demands of gaming AND streaming on the CPU and GPU. I’ve read where AMD in a lot of cases performs better than Intel in this regard. Thanks
Question, I'm thinking about getting this but I'm also worried about the life expectancy of laptops. Wondering if this is a buy thats worth the money with its quality.
Outstanding Review! Really makes this laptop seem ideal for a power user - love the option to game at quieter fan levels. My biggest complaint with all power laptops are those fans. My one question would be - is there a lot of modulation in fan noise at each mode, or do they tend to be stable at a set RPM? I would dislike it if the fans were constantly adjusting annoyingly. Your review, with some of these QOL features described (easy to change fan/power modes, mux switch, simple software) makes this look like a really interesting machine to consider. I’m still pretty much in love with my desktop setup - but I’ve always dreamed of a great all in one laptop to replace it.
I think you bought me with this review, and eluktronics found a new customer. Will there be a review of max 15 though ? I am interested in the thermal performance and graphics performance difference between those two.
Hell yeah Bob! You're the bomb man, thanks for posting the best reviews. I've been loving my max-17 so far. I'm excited to update the bios. Where can I find it?
How are fan volumes doing regular stuff, like internet browsing, RUclips, writing? And perhaps even using Photoshop, if you use it. I've heard their a bit loud, just want to hear about it from a non-reviewer.
@@icanmakeeverythingilovedie9861 Almost completely silent during video editting. I havent had the chance to do much graphical 3d rendering, but will probably get back into that within the next few weeks. They are really quite quiet. Of course, fan noise has never really bugged me, ive only ever pc gamed on gaming laptops because my wife took over the desktop once I finally built it XD. So I'm used to loud fans. But out of the furst msi gs65, the Dell Inspiron 7577, and the clevo p970ef, this one is the quietest during regular work. When the video is exporting and its using all 16 cores, the fans kick it up a notch, but thats to be expected.
i wanna ask some questions to all Max 17 owners here 1st:- is there any 30fps cap while gaming on battery 2nd:- How much time does it take for the laptop to fully charge 3rd:- How is the audio performance from the headphone jack Plz answer
I looked at this but £150 in shipping and £350 in import duty and tax make it a £2000 laptop with no extended warranty for the base model. A top spec G14 with all the bells and whistles is £200 less and more portable. We don’t have the prices yet but I don’t expect a higher end XPS 17 to be significantly more expensive.
NOT disappointed!! Thank you for your hard work!! I am about to order mine. Do you have any recommendation on whether to go with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut or just Mastergel Maker TP? I hope to have something that can last me a while without the need of re-applying so frequently. Thank you!
Great content as always @Bob Of All Trades ! I hope Eluktronics will adapt these performance profiles to the RP15 / RP17 , in your reviews of these products we have seen that changing the performance profile don't affect the FPS in games at all and only increases the temps, which is super weird... The CPU wattage changes, the temps increase, but there's absolutely no change in performance. Very weird indeed...
@@BobOfAllTrades You are kinda brushing me off here mate. Your review of the Matrix RP shows almost no difference in performance between the office/game/turbo mode, just temperatures going up. It would be nice to have like with the MAX 17, a performance profile with lower CPU wattage, and unblocked GPU wattage. It seems that way the performance is best.
Bob, are external display outputs wired to the dGPU? This could explain why it's powered on in iGPU only mode. This is an important factor for Linux users, as PRIME offloading allows for the best possible graphics switching experience, but has limitations when the external display outputs are driven by the dGPU (they will not work). If the iGPU or mux runs the external displays then we're in business.
Excellent review, another powerhorse underdog to MSI GS66 Stealth. Too bad I just got the Mag 15 just 2 weeks ago, and we don't have Max 17 in Australia anyway.
Thanks a lot Bob! You do the most detailed reviews with solutions to any issues. Also, I learnt a lot about the GPU conundrum in the market. Helped me a lot in deciding which GPU is good for me. I've seen your EVOC (PB51) review. I'm torn between Clevo PB71 and Eluktronics Max 17. Which would last long a Clevo or Tongfang chassis ? Is the (clevo's) bottom plastic strong and of good quality ? Which chassis has a chance of lasting for 5 years when taken care of ?
RMA'd two of these because they BOTH had a bad usb(3.1) port, lose trackpad(noise with any tap) and a fan that made a rattle spin up noise that will teach you the meaning of water torture.Very sad because it was a great mid range notebook : (
Ryzen still runs hot when combined with a powerful gpu. It can hit 90°C or warmer pretty easily. I’m not impressed with it thermally when it’s combined with the GPU but when it runs standalone it does really well and it’s also a stronger performer without its power supply.
Love your channel and I'm a long time subscriber, great review. A little suggestion though, your thumbnails look horrible (I mean aesthetically, they're perfectly informative as they are). Not a RUclips pro but it sounds like a high impact, low cost way to improve your following, bad thumbnails mean no clicks from people unfamiliar to the channel. Keep up the good work! ;)

Bob you really know how to melt a person's heart with your review
It's still alot cheaper than the competition so I wasn't to broken up about it. The 2080 Super Max-q model I have is very capable of hitting over 150 fps in even some hard to run games.
Beggars can't be choosers*
I got the 2070 super version of this laptop for 1900 at microcenter. Its under the maingear elemnt brand but its the same exact laptop
Got my Max-17 last week and love it. Thanks for the hard work Bob!!
how about screen bleeding on your unit? Waiting for my Max 17 to arrive
10:40 that's what they don't tell in other reviews ! Amazing review Bob !
@@mostafah6039 Thank you for your honest input!
Ive been waiting all quarantine for this! Thank you for your amazing work Bob!
I've finally got one of these on the way! I'm going to call it the "BOB-17"... you are a godsend!
That’s awesome and it’s an honor 💪
Great video, recently ordered the updated Max-15 and I’m glad to see the MUX switch something I didn’t even know was coming! Thank you for this in depth video!
You are getting better and better my friend👏 highly suggest to make your future reviews same with this one and you will most likely to get million subs in a year. Why? Because this is it already! This concept will be your edge among other reviewers.
Thankfully most laptops are not this complicated so there isn’t as much to show because this was six weeks and way too many hours of work LOL
That’s awesome 👏
Can we get a comparison video with the MAX-17 and RP-17? I'm personally between the two so if there's a possibility on getting that video I'll definitely wait.
I think the max 17 will have better performance if you get the 2070-2080 super mq.
A 2060 comparison would be interesting, though.
Same! This would be huge for people like us going back and forth between the 2
ACE112ACE112 Yeah I’m expecting better gpu performance of course but I wanna see how big the difference is since it is a boosted 2060 and I want to see the cpu performance comparison as well as just the overall ergonomics of the two side by side.
@@ACE112ACE112 not really. You either want a budget built AMD system or you want a high quality built Intel system. Unfortunately, these manufacturers aren't currently putting together quality AMD systems. Everything about the MAX 17 is better, except for the CPU.. Can you believe that?
Even though I've had my Max-15 for about 3 months I always learn something from your videos
how about screen bleeding on your unit? Waiting for my Max 17 to arrive
Great laptop and review! Imagine this thing with Ryzen next year, absolute domination.
Like early 2021? Is there a general time frame for when the new ryzen chips will finally get to be paired with the 2070 and 2070 super variant? I'm debating on getting this max 17. But if the wait isn't TOO long, I'd easily wait it out.
Won't happen

@@confidentlocal8600 yah those 2 laptops in stock
Just ordered it thanks to you
One of the best laptops 💪
@@BobOfAllTrades Hey Bob so i gave myself some more time to think about the one you showed me with amd with 2060 115 watts but then i also found out that the razer blade 2070mq is around 100 watt i think.. so now i am stuck between Max 17 intel version 2070 super and razer pro 17 2070mq. sure the trade off would be the customize performance with the max 17 however the razer blade is plenty capable of playing games and it is also seem to be a quiet machine like the max 17( with some configuration) it is just really hard to choose since the build on the razer blade is so nice. do you have any reviews coming soon for 2020 razerblades? it seem so far i only see Razer deals vid but not so much about your owns opinions about Razer
We’re a ways off before we’ll have that level of control with Ryzen mobile on laptops.
Oh wow you’ve tried more 3070 laptops than me LOL!
I’d happily ready what you like between those three in more detail should feel inspired to do so 🙏
Great review
My Max 17 arrives wednesday and I'm excited😁
Awesome reviews and content in general. Your channel has been an invaluable resource for my recent laptop search. I settled on the MAX-17 because of your great information. Subscribed!
Great review!! It would be interesting to see how does this beast laptop porform with different thermal pastes like kryonaut, mx-4 and liquid metal.
Agree!!
For gaming performance with liquid metal cooled version of this laptop,

i7 10875h with 2070 Super with same chasis .
FIIIIIINALLLLLYYY. LIKED EVEN BEFORE WATCHING!
Same...
Same!
Thanks for reminding me about what I’m grinding and saving up for! Great review as always
After watching this, I've been wondering why up until now other manufacturers cannot do this on their product lines, this offer much control and at the same time give ease to those who dont want to tweak. Btw, excellent review Bob!
My outro suggests manufacturers perhaps should pay attention to these details 👍
This brand is highly underrated

I'm so happy this review came out i preordered the vaper 17x (max17) 3 months ago and I should be getting it first week of July. I was bringing to lose hope. This review has just put my hope back into the laptop so glad I'm waiting for this beast. Thanks Bro
It's one outstanding laptop.
A G-sync display and a manual profile where you can manually tune the CPU tdp would make it perfect
And thunderbolt charging
J L imo thunderbolt charging isnt important because it doesnt give enough power
Waiting for this Bob, finally here. Thank you Bob you are the best reviewe i have ever seen you take a look on the true reality of the products, giving real reviews, not just reading specs and benchmark.
Love your review! No fancy background, no corny jokes. Just raw facts!
Hi Bob,
Really like the detailed approach!!
Thanks for the heads up! Man, that’s a smoking deal.
Under rated but needs a review
Great review! You go into such detail, like turning max fans on whilst testing webcam, actual real life scenarios... Thanks!
Why did they add an extra switch for fan boost for gaming and beast instead of just having 5 profiles instead of 3? Just adds an extra level of confusion. Are they implying the fan boost is needed to not damage the thing in the long run? Just does not seem logical to me.
Giving the customers this level of choices and options to use their laptop is nothing but a good thing 👍
That Max17 is getting closer and closer to perfection. Get that Webcam on top and try to shave off most of the chin... yes...
Solitude Yes! It’s incredible. Can’t wait to get mine.
91+ is close enough to 100.
I have just received the same device and thanks to you, I am more and more comfortable with it! Now, I want bios uptade, control center changes and MUX is the best thing so far! You are the best! Never leave use..
Waited many weeks for your review! Really enjoyed seeing this.
Hey Bob! Got my Max-17 a week ago, been running lots of tests, the DPC latency was of interest to me. I found that disabling the wireless and using a wired connection gave better DPC latency, still not great, but certainly better.
Update on this, disable Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
under network adapters and DPC latency comes down a lot.
Three questions. 1. Can 2070 maxp be Electroboosted as well as 2070 super maxp ? 2. How does the 15 size chasis perform on thermal ? 3. Do u think it worth 300 dollars to upgrade into 2070 super with 244 hz panel?
purchased my G3 earlier this month, and I'm super excited to give this company a try. Had an Apple MBP for 11 years and I'm anxious for a switch!
Great Review Bob
Really appreciate the organization of the video
I now feel informed enough to decide on my purchase. Looking forward to more of your work
Bob, very nice detailed review. I just ordered my MAX 17 based on your review. Question. Do both storage slots take same PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD?
I am also kinda lost how can I get the option to have upgrade till 32 but to buy only 16 ram until upgrade
Loving the review Bob your videos have improved a lot :D
Great video as usual mate and solid product from Eluktronics. That said I really wish it had a Ryzen 4900HS/H chip.
Dear Eluktronics. Please give us high end and premium options running Ryzen. My personal dream laptop would be a mix of Aero 17, XPS 17 and Mac Pro 16. Something like:
Color Accurate 4k 16:10 screen like XPS17
Ryzen 4900HS/H
RTX2070mq/2080mq
2x RAM for 32/64GB ram
2x NVME
Couple of TB3 ports with PD, 1 USB A, Ethernet 2.5G, Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.2
Mic array and speakers as good as MacBook pro 16
99whr battery
they should give us AMD 4800h with nvida above 2060 in future, because they are not asus, lenovo, dell or other knowing companys that Intel Pays under the table.
A boosted 2060 equals a 2070mq so we’re close there at least 👍
@@diuran1919 I agree they are a awesome company so hoping to see them succeed. They deserve it just like AMD does for delivering great products
@@BobOfAllTrades Is there a difference in Power consumption? I always thought the Max Q variants are slightly better binned and tuned for efficiency?
maans le roux The chassis can clearly handle the thermals so spending more a 90w 2070MQ versus a 110-115w 2060 is throwing money away.
Damn, all your reviews are always so thorough. Nice video dude!
Thank you very much for this awesome review BOB! 👏 I'm sure this Max 17 is a solid desktop replacement.
This was another awesome review. I'm definitely gonna check out eluktronics the next time I'm in the market for a new laptop
Thanks for all the hard work Bob! This is an invaluable in-depth review on getting the absolute most out of this machine. Really nice job!
Thanks
Great review Bob, if you could only include the weight in Kg as well for us international viewers. Otherwise great stuff keep it up 👍😊.
Savel Popovic Heck the natives of that metric can covert. I’m 100 hours deep in this as is lol. I’m capped man 👍
Question, I'm thinking about getting this but I'm also worried about the life expectancy of laptops.
Neils Nygaard Eluktronics plans on using Teamview to get everyone up to date on their BIOS 👍
@@BobOfAllTrades Is that something we need to email them about?
Great review! I just ordered this exact same model last week.
Awesome thanks for this review, I'm going to try and get this computer
Just Pre-Ordered, really like what this laptop offers.
4:30 HEY OTHER MANUFACTURERS IS THAT REALLY HARD TO DO???
Lenovo legion, also cheaper
Mostly gaming laptops have alot of ports
i wanna ask some questions to all Max 17 owners here
1st:- is there any 30fps cap while gaming on battery
2nd:- How much time does it take for the laptop to fully charge
3rd:- How is the audio performance from the headphone jack
Plz answer
Very impressive. Well done Eluktronics!
Packed with a lot of good info.. exactly the kind of video ppl should invest their time in before pulling the trigger on any laptop which costs $1500+
I really enjoyed the review of the review at the beginning
I looked at this but £150 in shipping and £350 in import duty and tax make it a £2000 laptop with no extended warranty for the base model. A top spec G14 with all the bells and whistles is £200 less and more portable. We don’t have the prices yet but I don’t expect a higher end XPS 17 to be significantly more expensive.
I hope one day eluktronics will give a option to apply liquid metal from the factory to get the best performance possible.
What a great feature set and review! Well done!
NOT disappointed!! Thank you for your hard work!! I am about to order mine. Do you have any recommendation on whether to go with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut or just Mastergel Maker TP? I hope to have something that can last me a while without the need of re-applying so frequently. Thank you!
That’s entirely up to you my friend. I guess if you want better thermals go for the upgrade I don’t know how much better you should expect however.
The Matrix RP has its own parameters and works great as shown in my review. It’s done and perfect 👍
Damn those temp even chills me out here. Noice review .
Hope they will reposition there camera to top. I am going to buy it if they do so. 👍
Was looking forward to this 👍
This was a brilliant review, thanks Bob :)
That description though. Love it.
Thicc-15 next please!
Excellent review, another powerhorse underdog to MSI GS66 Stealth. Too bad I just got the Mag 15 just 2 weeks ago, and we don't have Max 17 in Australia anyway.
thanks for this review bob! great job
Nice one:)
Thank you so much Bob. You're the best!!!!
Giving great hardware and with user control, awesome job by eluktronics
Thanks a lot Bob! You do the most detailed reviews with solutions to any issues. Also, I learnt a lot about the GPU conundrum in the market. Helped me a lot in deciding which GPU is good for me. I've seen your EVOC (PB51) review. I'm torn between Clevo PB71 and Eluktronics Max 17.
Which would last long a Clevo or Tongfang chassis ? Is the (clevo's) bottom plastic strong and of good quality ? Which chassis has a chance of lasting for 5 years when taken care of ?
RMA'd two of these because they BOTH had a bad usb(3.1) port, lose trackpad(noise with any tap) and a fan that made a rattle spin up noise that will teach you the meaning of water torture.Very sad because it was a great mid range notebook : (
Max-17 with ryzen 4900H will be a dream come true. With this cooling and battery, it would have been awesome AF
Keep up the good work! ;)
Have any suggestions? Because I’m flying solo on this journey.
this is such a good laptop i just might buy it to replace my mech 17. not even kidding. eluktronics better keep this up. they will surely win everyone over !
It doesn't have g-sync though
Really tempted to pull the trigger on this. Shame there's no Ryzen 4000 but I'm still content to wait a bit longer
Amazing Review , Bob! The wait was definitely worth it 👏
One quick question :
Does FastSync work with the Laptops LCD after switching to Dedicated GPU Mode? Or does it work only on external Montor/display?
