Tested the Tongfang GK5-Y (aka Eluktronics Max-15, Illegear Onyx Pro) recently, CPU pulling over 90W consistently with stock paste in Aida64 FPU. Under Aida64+Unigine Heaven load, it can barely cool them, however it's still incredible for a 15 inch laptop with such light and thin chassis. 2070MP! Max-17 should be called Mag-17 lol. Similar motherboard to Mag-15 and similar feature set (long battery life, TB3 etc). The weight is so light for its size.
No logo. Optional d-brand skin with the logo on it is enough if you want to brand it in my opinion. Love Eluktronics. I’m a big fan of the mech series. Before I got my mech 15 G3, I was leaning towards a couple of MSI laptops, but came across a gaming performance video about the mech 15 and I decided to look at their website. I had never heard of their company before, which made me hesitant at first, but they had such good Black Friday deals that I couldn’t pass it up. I don’t think I would ever go back. This is a great company with such friendly people. There are so many customizable choices to choose from that there’s something affordable for just about anyone. Sure some of my gamer friends weren’t as impressed as they probably would’ve been with something like an MSI or Asus laptop since they had no idea who Eluktronics was, but I think even though it’s not as widely known as other brands that it is one of the best laptop companies there is. I hope Eluktronics does become just as well known as MSI, Asus, or Razor. I wish them nothing but the best for their business.
@@IncredibleJim their supplier of the chassis was going to charge more for the drilled logo holes but there was a minimum of like 1000 units which was too much risk as they might not sell. No logo was the clear preference by my viewers.
I've had the Australian 15 with the 2070mq version of this for a few months now. Have been using it as a daily. It's a great device, I'd say the closest to having an all round experience. It's got the business style light weight, high quality display, glass trackpad, thin bezels etc. And the power for any gaming you do. They really are worth the money. You shouldn't cheap out with them though, if you're getting one go all out and make sure you got the thermal grizzly on
No logo. I really love the company and the CEO but, to be frank, they need a rebranding before I'll feel comfortable with that logo showing on my laptop. Especially the "Eluktronics" logo below the monitor in the front. Also, can't overstate how bad of an initial impression I had seeing the amazon thumbnails of your laptops lol. The screen image looks horrendous and tacky, reminiscent of a knockoff chinese brand. Thanks to channels like these, however, I'm able to appreciate the beauty and bang-for-the-buck your laptops have to offer, tho :)
I have a max 15 on the way. The one thing I do wish they had as far as customization, is more granular choices. Ram and storage are tied together in a way that doesn't seem needed. Maybe someone wants 32gb of ram, but only a 256gb ssd, for example. I'd have liked to have 3tb of storage with 32gb of ram, and save a bit of money, but I'll settle for buying a separate ssd to install. Otherwise the whole buying experience was fantastic, and it shipped quickly even with the liquid metal upgrade. How the laptop will fare remains to be seen.

@@OWNORDISOWN Yup that's the line I got. Yet we still prefer to fix it our own machines, as the "support" means replacing our devices, and I mean everything. Feels wasteful.
What would make this laptop perfect is a 15mm 2.5 hdd bay that can fit a Seagate 5tb hdd. There is no gaming laptop that provides a 90wh+ battery together with a 2.5 hdd bay
I agree, with the bundled stuff it is great value. You may want to ask about a bundled game like Red Dead Redemption too. Will did mention that when I was there.
CEO’s a really cool dude. I love the design of the laptops! No fingerprints!!! 🙏🏽🙌🏾 My only requests is that you guys consider supporting [Linux]. I haven’t used Windows in almost 7 years and really have no desire to. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
A Great and humble CEO there is. Yup Eluktronics will go as far exceeding our expectations... Big Steps they can make is: Make a (literal) Gaming Brand of eluktronics(you know... like ROG and stuff) to make it less generic, Try joining the new gen AMD mobile hype, and adding a signature external design(kinda like alienware's sexy curves, ROG ultra-thin designs, etc.). Oh yeah... I forgot... To put the speakers on top(Don't overlook audio quality...THIS WOULD BE EXCELLENT).
I bought a Mech 17 last year from you guys. It was such an amazing machine but the monitor literally fell out of the lid. Has this issue been addressed? It was held in with just a few strips of double stick tape. Thankfully, you guys refunded me and I appreciate the amazing customer support!
It's too bad more of the top review websites don't include the MAX 17. I was close to buying something else but I just wasn't happy with what I was finding, and I FINALLY ran into Eluktronics MAX 17. The reason I bought it? I needed something with a huge battery, thin and lightweight, strong graphics performance without overheating causing too much throttling, and the most important thing - the numeric keypad. It might sound silly, but the reason I passed on MSI Stealth and Razer (other than price), all came down to the numeric keypad. Great job and I hope we can spread the word.
Glad you like it Austin ! Yes, they are a great company. They are small and its great that they want to support small channels like mine. Stay tuned as I will be showing off their new stuff when they get launched.
Honestly I got me a Razerblade 15 Advanced, can't argue with quality, but I'll see how these work in the coming years. Very might be my next laptop if they keep up the good work!
no logo but give 1-2 logo stickers,so that user if they wanted..this is the best way to satisfy everyone and still some may still choose to stick it somewhere on their laptop...You may ask for best logos to vote from users and choose the top 3-5 ones and give random ones to buyers,or as buyer's selected option. it may be different logo, from eluktronics or eLuk or just different colors of current logo or rainbow one...make different choices but let the user decide where to put it or have it as no-logo as it is.
I just bought an hp omen from eluktronics through Amazon. Got a 240hz panel gtx 2060 and an i7950h. With 16gb of ram. 1 to hdd and 256gb ssd for 1299. 1412 delivered. Can't beat the specs to price 😎 highly recommend them for laptops.
Now this is something I liked very much , the CEO himself coming up to describe his products and so enthusiastic about it. No need to mention that their products are already kicking asses of other high class brands (with so much money and resources to put into R&D). Even after making such fine laptops which are lighter, powerful ,cheaper than all, customisation, they are still humble. 👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Edit : and no LOGO . I mean how cool is that!!!
Will bought all those laptops himself to test and will sell them at a loss. He is a pc enthusiast and wants to bring the best performing laptops at the best price 👍
NO logo. Also, this thin and light obsession....that's fine for a model. But PLEASE consider a thicker unit (15 and 17) with NO thermal throttling and room for a maximum battery - and consider making the battery INTERCHANGEABLE! Also, an LTE SIM slot as well as a full-size completely engulfed SDHD slot and ALSO ports - including a legacy IEEE-1394 Firewire port for all those technical uses with legacy Data acquisition platforms as well as the music folks with a large investment in Firewire musical IO. Such a machine would easily address the 'workstation' sector ad well.

I'd prefer the logo. Illuminated logo is fine if it can be turned off. I hope future chassis have webcam on top, fullsize numpad with standard layout and full size 0 key. How is the durability for the eluktronics laptops? I have had bad experiences where the hinges of the laptops would start breaking so I would want to know if it is built durable.
Dear Eluktronics. Here is how to get your brand popular overnight- Make a version of the MAG-15 that just happens to have the same components that are used in the 16 inch MBP- so it's Hackintosh compatible. 2.4GHz 8-core Core i9 , AMD 5700M (when it comes out, assuming it works- otherwise 5500M 8GB), user upgradable RAM (up to 64GB), user upgradable storage, two Hackintosh compatible TB3 ports, compatible Broadcom wireless card (user upgradable), 300+ PPI screen with 120hz refresh rate (for gaming and productivity) Keyboard from the 2015 MBP, magnetic force feedback glass trackpad. You’ll be the only laptop manufacturer with a Hackintosh compatible MBP replacement for likely half the cost of the 16 inch MBP, and probably faster as well. Eluktronics will be a living legend overnight. Bonus points if you include great speakers and webcam.
No logo is much more preferred, i like the minimalist and clean look, please, i'm really interested in the MAG-15 series, but could you by any chance increase the CPU performance to like 4.5Ghz?
3 things, thanks for the content. Secondly, how are those Elultronics in the long run? Lastly, yes please NO logo, to be honest the logo is really not that cool.
I was looking at getting a razerblade in December last year, I came across Eluktronics upon looking at laptop reviews. I was like who is this brand as I had never heard of them. Max-17 should be called Mag-17 lol. Similar motherboard to Mag-15 and similar feature set (long battery life, TB3 etc). The weight is so light for its size.
100% No logo I always cover the lid with a large sticker and a smooth surface is preferred
Thanks for your feedback. Stay tuned for the reviews 👍
I wish them nothing but the best for their business.
the logo with the backlight shining through!!!! THATS SICK!
Yes, that was quite cool but it wasn't so popular I'm afraid
@@OWNORDISOWN Well it was that or the muted look with no logo. They could charge for these options. Would be nice.
@@IncredibleJim their supplier of the chassis was going to charge more for the drilled logo holes but there was a minimum of like 1000 units which was too much risk as they might not sell. No logo was the clear preference by my viewers.
@@OWNORDISOWN makes perfect sense.
You shouldn't cheap out with them though, if you're getting one go all out and make sure you got the thermal grizzly on
I agree, much easier to let them do the repasting.
I am glad you find my channel useful Rex :)
@@OWNORDISOWN
If I ever end up buying an RTX laptop instead of my initial plan to buy a GTX 1660-Ti, it would be because of you :)
@@RexGalilae thanks Rex, that's very nice of you to say so 😀
I have a max 15 on the way.
Watching this on my Mech G17 (rtx 2070/9750h). LOVEEEE THIS MACHINE!!! Awesome work and service 🙏♥
Eluktronics right now is my go to. I'm trying to get my company to use them more but it's an uphill battle -.-
Loving the inside look ♥♥♥♥♥
God speed!
Thanks mate ! Yes, it was great visiting them. They are so close to where I live too 👍 Companies seem to prefer Dell and Lenovo, or Hp. It's the support I guess.
@@OWNORDISOWN Yup that's the line I got. Yet we still prefer to fix it our own machines, as the "support" means replacing our devices, and I mean everything. Feels wasteful.
And now I regret getting my Razer. Thanks!
The Razer is still a very fine machine 👍. Thanks for watching!
What would make this laptop perfect is a 15mm 2.5 hdd bay that can fit a Seagate 5tb hdd. There is no gaming laptop that provides a 90wh+ battery together with a 2.5 hdd bay
The max 17 is currently on their website going for 1499 with the bundle, 1660, 1tb of storage and 16gb ram. Too good to pass up
I agree, with the bundled stuff it is great value. You may want to ask about a bundled game like Red Dead Redemption too. Will did mention that when I was there.
OWNorDisown awesome thanks a lot. Amazing video giving us an insight. Thanks for all of your work!
CEO’s a really cool dude. I love the design of the laptops! No fingerprints!!! 🙏🏽🙌🏾 My only requests is that you guys consider supporting [Linux]. I haven’t used Windows in almost 7 years and really have no desire to. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Yeah, He is a great guy, very open . I'm sure he will be reading the comments section. Thanks for watching
You can do it yourself.
I wonder why you got a laptop that's over 1k bucks and don't use windows. Tbh, windows is the way to go if you're going with a gaming machine.
Try installing a virtual machine
Just picked up the MAG-15 and love it! Better than my Razer 15 and MacBook Pro. Love the keyboard, chassis and performance!
Great ! Thanks for sharing 👍
I like the subtle "hole-punched" logo the best
Thanks for your input 👍
no logo but give 1-2 logo stickers,so that user if they wanted..this is the best way to satisfy everyone and still some may still choose to stick it somewhere on their laptop...You may ask for best logos to vote from users and choose the top 3-5 ones and give random ones to buyers,or as buyer's selected option. it may be different logo, from eluktronics or eLuk or just different colors of current logo or rainbow one...make different choices but let the user decide where to put it or have it as no-logo as it is.
Sorry rtx 2060 i7 9750h haha
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on them , I have the Omen 15t with i9 and 2080 MQ and it's been my daily driver since it came out.
Edit : and no LOGO . I mean how cool is that!!!
Will bought all those laptops himself to test and will sell them at a loss. He is a pc enthusiast and wants to bring the best performing laptops at the best price 👍
@@OWNORDISOWN Hey can you do a comparison between Max 15 vs ROG Zephyrus G14? As both of them are super light. Thanks

@@OWNORDISOWN Perhaps fair enough, but it seems to me that the Gigabyte Aero 17 is a REAL competitor to the device, which may make the whole comparison a bit moot - no?

Personally, like I said, the HP Omen 17t with the 2070 MP would have been a great contender.
Can't unsee the Stormtrooper in their logo.
I'd prefer the logo. Illuminated logo is fine if it can be turned off. I hope future chassis have webcam on top, fullsize numpad with standard layout and full size 0 key. I'd rather have half size arrow keys if that's what it takes to get a standard numpad layout and full size 0 key. Good numpad> no numpad > half-baked numpad. Forgot to mention 2 usb-A ports on the left for mouse and headphones.
Yes, this is something they are pushing for themselves.
2020 is gonna be the year for Eluktronics. I'm using Strix III but I'm rooting for Eluktronics.
Me too, I always like to support the underdog. 👍
Really wish I could get one! I’ve borrowed my friend’s when my xps was at Microsoft getting checked… I really wish I had one of these!
I really prefer ports on the back, especially power but the lack of full size SD for work is a deal breaker for me personally.
I plan to buy the Matrix RP-17 and give it a review from a beginners to the laptop experience point of view.

i fell in love with Eluktronics. Eluk rp-15 will come out w/ amd r7 4800h next month and i bet its faster than max-15.
How is the durability for the eluktronics laptops? I have had bad experiences where the hinges of the laptops would start breaking so I would want to know if it is built durable.
This is a great product for the price and performance balances. A definate contender as my desk top replacement !
Yes, I really liked it too and now they have the new Ampere models :)
Move the camera/mic to the top. Logo with backlight. Add docking station
I can't wait for the full review.
No logo is much more preferred, i like the minimalist and clean look, please, i'm really interested in the MAG-15 series, but could you by any chance increase the CPU performance to like 4.5Ghz?
That's the single core boost. I have never seen the 9750h do that according to hwinfo
Please continue the great work man
3 things, thanks for the content. Secondly, how are those Elultronics in the long run? I've seen few reviews people calming they'd die after a year or so which is really bad, I have an Aysar gaming laptop I bought in 2010 and it's still rocking! Lastly, yes please NO logo, to be honest the logo is really not that cool.
I wanna buy MAX 15 or MAG 15 but I’m just worried that they won’t honor warranty because they’re still a small company :/
I was looking at getting a razerblade in December last year, I came across Eluktronics upon looking at laptop reviews. I was like who is this brand as I had never heard of them. The name, I thought was kind of generic so it must be a crappy brand. Nope, I bought their Mech 15 G2Rx with a RTX 2060. Wow, what a great bargain compared to everything else. Very impressed for the money.
Thanks for the feedback Michael. I was impressed with the Mech 17 too, it was sad when I dropped it back off with them. I am glad I visited with them so people can see inside their shop :)
Love these laptops!! Only thing.. Like there are people out there who love the clean look.. some of us are suckers for RGB lighting around the periphery of the laptop!! I mean it can always be switched off in a work environment!! Please make RGB lighting around the edges (something like the asus strix) an option on your site!!
Thanks
You can turn off the RGB. On the covert gamer line there is no logo and it comes with an optional dbrand skin
No branding is a brand in and of itself. It’s sexy AF, but the option for and illuminated logo couldn’t hurt.

Which paste I should be using, considering I would be using it for years? Liquid metal needs to be applied every year, right? I have heard that master gel is better and lasts longer than stock paste.
According to Hidevolution liquid metal will last as long as regular paste. I am sure that the Master Gel is better than the stock paste .
I wished they would make a new smaller laptop. Gaming/business at 13"-14", we wouldn't mind something thicc.
