Kinda sad to see it go. I grew up seeing the 2000 Sentra everywhere as a kid, and always got excited when I saw an SE-R/SE-R Spec V version hot rodding around town. Memories.
My first car was an '01 Sentra. 5-speed, burned about a quart of oil every 1,000 miles, consistently took 10 seconds to start, still survived 50,000 miles and a cross USA roadtrip. Junk after I tried to service the transmission, over-tightened the transmission drain plug and cracked the housing in half. Rust in peace Pharaoh.
Too bad they don’t make them like they used to. The old Datsun/Nissan Sentras were amazing car. Long lasting. Well built. Today’s Sentras are absolute garbage.
Those Sentras were bargains when new, definitely a step above the Mitsubishi Lancer (non-Evolution) of the day, but definitely a few steps behind Honda's refinement, and Toyota's dependable blandness.
I remember driving a death trap when I was 16. I was heading back from an auction on I-35 at night with only one high beam working, no blinker, the cluster wasn’t working, the brakes were shot, the e-brake/parking brake was the only way to stop (when we checked later it was a miracle the car could stop given the wear), steering was a joke needing almost a full spin each way to keep the bucket on the road. There was more wrong with it, but at this point it’s already painted a solid picture. My father sold it to some guy that wanted to add it to his pasture collection. (I cannot explain the logic, as I do not understand it myself.)
I had an 03 Spec V, it was a fun car to drive. I also had an 05 base model Sentra that had a ton of miles on it, almost 375 but a tree fell on it and totaled it
Doesn’t have to go into the crusher right away. You can bring that kind of car or any rusted out vehicle to any Minnesota junkyard and it’ll be completely stripped out by the end of the month 😅
Man, Id love to work on that car, seems like the e brake cable snapped so thats a decently easy fix, the steering wheel though, Im not too sure, maybe a linkage broke in it or something? But man that engine sounds great!

@@steverone7623 It was not leaking, both sides were full but the pedal froze up from the actual unit failing. What should I have done, tied a rope to a cinder block and thrown it out of the window?
