Holy smokes! Absolutely fantastic. Eric has a really marvelous voice. And, he has lived enough life so that he can put the emotion into the song that something like this needs.
Holy cow! That was amazing!! Such a talented vocalist he is!! I never listened to Skid Row, but I’ve heard of them, so I didn’t know about Erik individually. He has one of the best voices out there, hands down! The piano was just beautiful, too. It made me really regret not following through on piano lessons when I was younger. And the guitar in this version had kind of a “Queen” vibe to me. So if I’m comparing someone to Brian May, then it doesn’t get much better than that! Thanks for the song and thanks for another great reaction!💗
Erik is amazing, i get goosebumps everytime i listen to this cover His Dream on cover is also brilliant, not to mention his FFDP cover yea everything Erik does is pure gold, his Wheels of forTunes original songs are awesome also. Not to mention how humble he is and how he supportive he is to his fans When i met him in Stockholm for his bookrelease, i had never been on a plane before due to anxiety, Agoraphobia and ptsd, his personality and his voice made my world/live so much bigger, i regained so much freedom, and he gave me such a big hugg. He is such a beautifull person inside and out
Erik knocked our sock off as a youngster in Swedish Idol 2009. It’s fun to look back and see now how many ppl that listens to him. Check out his performances from Idol here in YT. Can’t hardly believe the voice coming out from that boy.
💫💫💫💫 I could listen to Eric’s voice ALLL DAY!! He is absolutely A-mazing💫💫💫. The original by Eric Carmen was in a different key without all the inflections in the voice. I’m sure that’s why Eric did his based on Celine Dion’s version which, is phenomenal as well. I would LOVE to hear him sing some Journey songs forrrr sure❤❤❤❤
Thanks Bill your reaction was great. Erik is amazing and this cover of a cover is fantastic! Erik and his team have been producing some great covers and original songs lately. He's one of my all-time favourite artists 🌟🤘❤️🔥
First of all...I'm not sure if Sassy was just messing around, or if you should rescue her! Goodness! You'd think that she was just a rag doll to be twirled around, shaken up a bit, and thrown upside down into the bone pile! YIKES! 🤣😂😆 Secondly...Thank you very much for this reaction!!!😀 Thirdly...both Dan and Erik have done Journey songs. Dan has six covers on his channel, and Erik has three. Every single one of them honors Steve Perry's work, immensely. SO GOOD!!! I really glad you loved this one. It's one I used to sing a LOT, back in the 70s, and I have always loved Eric Carman's original (yet not quite original) song. Here's how the song came about... Why ‘All By Myself’ Sounds Uncannily like Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2 (Based on Classic FM's 03/12/24 Article) In 1975, Russian Composer Sergei Rachmaninov snagged a songwriting credit for a pop ballad written decades after his death! The song in question was the enduringly popular Piano Concerto No.2. This is because the late American singer-songwriter Eric Carmen’s 1975 smash hit, "All By Myself" features an unlikely collaborator on its list of songwriters. Rachmaninov -- better known for his amazing piano works and rapturous symphonic writing -- seemingly also turned his hand to power ballads, according to the record’s liner notes. Of course, Rachmaninov had been dead for more than 30 years by the time the song was released. A classically trained pianist, Carmen had been working on a new solo, writing four bars at a time. After roughly two months, he had a complete piano interlude - he just needed some lyrics to sink into it, to create a whole new song. During his writing process, Carmen had been listening to Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2, and as he heard the evocative romanticism of the second movement, inspiration struck. Rachmaninov’s melody is passed between the piano, flute, and clarinet in his piano concerto, and Carmen used it as the basis for the tune of his verse for ‘All By Myself’. Using Rachmaninov’s harmonically meandering theme also meant Carmen had to incorporate similar chord patterns beneath his pop melody. It’s an unusual musical feature to hear in a pop song, and one that requires a skilled songwriter, such as Eric Carmen or Sergei Rachmaninov, to bring it all together. There was a slight problem, however. Although Rachmaninov’s music was in the public domain (meaning that copyright laws no longer applied to it) in the United States, that wasn’t the case in other parts of the world. After the album’s release, Carmen was contacted by the Rachmaninov estate and together they agreed that, alongside a songwriter credit for Rachmaninov himself, the estate would also receive a 12% share of the royalties made from the song! That's how the great Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninov came to add a "chart-topping power ballad" to his history of other wonderful musical works. Plus ... he had one of his works performed by the one and only Celine Dion (and plenty of others over the years, as well, including this wonderful, brand new cover by Erik Grönwall. Unfortunately, Dan has been declaring for a while, now, that he won't be making any more sad ballads. If that weren't the case, I'd be betting that he and Erik might just put this one together as a duet. You never know, though...maybe...one may always dream...right? 🤗😋😄
Thanks for the info! and yes, we can still dream! Don't worry about Sassy, it's likely she was doing a flying kick and landed one right on the kisser! By the way, that pile of bones is our dear Stanley Dinn. He has a lot of fun with Sassy and she like hanging out with (and sometimes within) Stan. 😂❤️❤️
@@BemusingBill Oh, you got me "gigling" with that comment. That's what (my sister) Cindi and I tell each other all the time. @shelliadams6554 Not a collaboration between Erik and Dan, but a fan project by Karla Bessa. Very well done, but I personally prefer to listen to Erik and Dan's version separately.
He's not only a great singer, he's a great down to earth person as well.
That's the truth! Which is why I love supporting him. Good people deserve all the love in the world!
