I don't think they have any plans to port it over, which if they don't it's messed up. I will say if you have a recent Samsung Flagship phone they have a directors view in the camera settings, I think on the S24 they call it dual record. It gives you basically the same options for recording video. The capture app does have an audio component when connected to rode mics as well.
Nicely done and useful video. Just dl'd the app, going to give this a go. Thank you! That new Rode Desktop Studio Stand DS2 looks great and probably is very stable. Is there a MagSafe connector for it? I don't see it among your products. Might it be under development?
And how to make the names of the files to be in some logical sequence, otherwise I installed it on the iPhone 15pro max and all the files are named randomly, without any normal sequence. Fix it. Or say what you will do to make it normal
It would be great if you made your app available on Android. Because there are a lot of users who just don't like IOS or for other reasons don't have an iPhone. But we have a top Android smartphone and your products which we love and want to get a better experience using it.
Fun fact: If you connect a podmic usb to iphone 15, you will get super quiet sound and not even usable. That probably he just connects it to the DAC instead of iphone, and introduce how to connect with a smart phone.
Any reason why no Android version? It shows that RØDE has a bias towards Apple. Makes no sense since there's more Android smartphones out there in the world compared to iPhones.
The problem is the Rode Capture app is unreliable. I’ve had it freeze mid-interview and then come back, still says it’s recording, but when the interview is done the record actually cut off at the point where it froze. Or the audio has been out of sync with the video by a second other times.
Most Android phones have issues with this type of technology due to the fractured usb protocols used. Phone cameras and battery dont like being used for to long at say 4k 60
When will the Rode Capture app be available for Android?

Thanks for these handy tips. Looking forward to seeing the Rode Capture app on Android as well.😊👍
thanks for the video. it's really simple and to the point.
What is the attachment at the end of the DS2 that you're using to hold the phones? Looks like it's a MagSafe mount?
👀
I want to know what that MagSafe mount for the DS2 is too!
Nice, hope Rode makes it work on android
I just installed the app on my iPhone. It’s a super awesome app. I will be using it more.
Rode Capture App isn't available on Android
Rode capture app is only available on iphone😢
Would really love a video showing how to connect USB podmic to my cell phone for “Twitter” spaces- I can’t get it to work. 😅 What am I doing wrong?
Great video
Nice, but no Android app available. Also, the app does not support Rode Wireless Pro mic. So, all in all, this app is utterly disappointing.
The Wireless Pros work with the app.
@@DougHewsonYT Thanks! Then I guess Rode should update their webpage with the app user manual to be more accurate.
@@itssoaztek4592 that’s where I saw it listed, along with the other current gen wireless mics and other USB mics.

How to connect it directly to your phone? To record for video when making content?
You can connect your phone to the USB2 port of the RØDECaster Pro II/Duo using either an SC17 cable for USB-C devices or SC19 for lightning devices 😄
Thank you, @@rodemic

Thanks for the feedback! We will definitely pass this onto our product team!

I will not buy anymore Rode product because no support for Android phone. I use top of the line Samsung Galaxy, but Rode is just too snob!
Ну ладно.
