    In most countries, the usual look over the shoulder is enough because country-specific regulations do not allow speeds over 120km/h. It's different in Germany, at 230km/h on the motorway you don't even look over your shoulder anymore. This system is awesome!

    While I have watched, with interest. I’ve decided, after 30+ years of riding, I have survived without such fripperies. However, it is good to see such tech available, to this who don’t want a multistrada, or tiger..ect. Love your stuff. Cheers. 👍🏻

    The radar system on the on my 2022 Ducati Multistrada V4S which as standard nit only provides the blind spot warning with indicator lights on both mirrors but it also has adaptive cruise control, both of which are the best safety systems I've had on any bike. So I think it's great to see that Innov have produced a blind spot system that can be fitted to any bike.

  • @markosrides

    New Multistradas V4 have this as stock I believe, integrated in the mirrors at the top there is a light that flashes when cars are in the blind spot. It's all part of the radar cruise control system and it's been a thing for a year or maybe longer. Awesome stuff apparently. Don't know why BMW is not following this trend for GSs. Maybe the long awaited 1300 will have this as stock... Cheers!

    I can tell you all that after over 60 years of motorbiking experience you should grab all the help on safe riding that you can find, whether its good basic practise or gizzmos like this radar. Never close you minds and become a 'well I've always done it like this and I'm fine' brigade member. If this radar saves just one close shave then it is worth every penny. Thank you Mark & Toby for bringing this to our attention. I have just ordered one and there is a 5% discount code available. Not much of a discount but every little helps.

      No discount at all when I just looked. Even had the cheek to say the discount was already applied after I typed it in. How did they know I had a discount code? Maybe it’s sent to the reviewer. If so they really should say so.

    Excellent safety device, i wasnt sold on your static test however when you had it out on the road it was faultless and really easy to see. Garmin have something similar for push bikes (Varia) that I have used for years. I shall be adding one of these to my GS.

    Interestingly, this brings the radar tech to the population of bikers at what looks like a reasonable price. I got one of their helmet cameras & that is well made. I'll give this a thought😏

    Having both innovv hemet and dash cams i may think ot this. But one thing i did notice was hes mirrors wernt adjusted so you could see the cars bikes behind and the blurred distorted vision through the screen

    • @RiderCamTV
      @RiderCamTV  Год назад +3

      The camera used in this video is fitted to the “beak” of the helmet so would obviously give a view through the screen. The mirrors are adjusted correctly for the riders seating position not for what you can see as a viewer of the video…

    I echo comments made by others - a useful (but expensive) rider aid. However, would you rely on it and not do a shoulder check when changing road position, particularly before an overtake. I don't think that I would

    • @RiderCamTV
      @RiderCamTV  Год назад +2

      This device would never replace current checks such as a shoulder check however it is a good aid to keep you aware of following traffic.

    Mmm that's great, but in the sunlight you wouldn't be able to see it, and the beeps are useless on a bike at any speed over walking speed I'd think

    • @RiderCamTV

      You would think that but in sunlight you can see it clearly and as for the beep, yep no good when riding but it’s brilliant when at slow speed and at junctions and traffic lights :)

    Is this not just dumbing down riding skills? Sorry mate, not convinced by it at all - you've already looked in your mirrors and know there is something on your outside and slipped into your blind spot, so what' the point of it? Just use your mirrors and turn your head.

    How have all of us old bikers managed for 40 plus years riding regularly on the roads without all these electronic 'safety' features? No abs, no traction control, no rider modes, no uphill assist, no lean sensitive anything, no front and rear radar, no heated seats, no tpms etc? What next..lane assist?

    • @GenXPertChannel
      @GenXPertChannel 6 месяцев назад +1

      I heard the same kind of thing from a neighbor who mocked the ABS on my new GS early last summer. He's dead now. He merged into a car, then lost it trying to get back into his lane and slid into a guard rail post. I get a lot of sportbike dullards who think it's funny to pass at very high speed, REALLY close to other bikes to assert their perceived superiority. This should make it less of a surprise when the leather jumpsuit guys want to demonstrate their HP.
