Had a loaded 2012 Evoque that was problem free - haters be damned. Downfall was new baby and rear facing car seat eliminated all passenger front leg room. The lag as mentioned is real, solution was to drive in sport mode. Evoque starts in 2nd gear (for fuel economy I am sure), uses low first for off-road since it doesnt have low range.
I am laughing at all the complaints of “lag” from the infotainment system. We really have become spoiled...”It takes 3 seconds to respond! I don’t have time for that!” LOL
Good review Nathan. HUD should be a safety feature for all vehicles. And you nailed the last 2 points of what the common person really needs to consider. Primary cost and reliability. I would suggest leasing them only. You get your warranty time and a feel whether you really like it or not. Plus the payments should be lower for that period of time. If you have no love when it is over, walk away. IF you do love them(for some reason)lease another new one and keep your costs down and your warranty up. ;)
Nathon, It seem to me that all of the Land Rover products are somewhat the same including the new Defender. To me the Discovery, Evoque, Defender are just varing degrees of urban SUVs with sketchy off-road capabilities at best. The Defender was real, for better or worse, off-roader. Will the new one even come close to true off-roading? Will it hang tough with say the likes of the Jeep Rubicon? I will be interested to how they compare. The Defender is certainly appealing in the Looks departments, but can cover the ground that it used to?
You see in way this car does not please many people as its either to on-road focused or too digital. You hear the off-road enthusiasts saying it's terrible of road and then the other side saying that it's never going to go off-road in its life time. Both are somewhat true, but that's what this car is for. Better to drive on the road but not useless on a slippery field or snowstorm. That's why it's a Range Rover.
Nathon, the last gen Defender was definitely a capable overlander and perhaps even comparable to the Rubicon. Where do you think it fits today? I'm wondering if we can still compare it to the Rubicon. I'm thinking it's more like a Grand Cherokee, perhaps more than that, but not a Rubicon. What's your take on it?
I love the styling of this car. And of course, you lease these...never own 😅. But my issue is that for the brand, and price, some things shouldn’t be options. Or in this case Nathan made it sound unavailable. The full camera system for example. Also, cooled/ventilated seats. These are becoming options, or part of higher end trims of non luxury brands. If the prestige brands don’t start offering more for the money, the badge for these brands won’t be enough to keep some customers. While for many, the brand name is enough to warrant these vehicles, many also go to this level for things they can’t get with other brands. The gap for this stuff is really diminishing. I also HATE that some companies are just going to glass roofs without a section that actually opens. If it isn’t going to open, don’t bother with the glass in my opinion.
I dunno,...I wonder about this one as a 'used car' when the warranty's all gone and you're on your own as far as costly repairing will be. Or in other words,..what sort of service life should the new buyer expect, when you think about all that 'tech' that may or may not need repairing. I guess we'll see won't we?
Thank you for your great job about the New Range Rover Evoque, but do you think is it a good SUV or not, please can you also do it with the Mercedes EQC. I would like to know if I can buy it or not ,so I will wait for your advices.
Wouldn't it be funny if someone jump started this car or reconnected the battery and then shorted out all of those screens? Hilarious. I'll stick with real, physical buttons.
@@mcalebeb Not on the Discovery sport.. none at all.. British quality is somewhat lacking ,an their solution to vast reports of leaking sun roofs was to stop making them..
Great video! But i want to know where i can get a awesome back pack like yours..

Nicky Illiopolis thank you! This is not the first time I’ve read owners say that!
Nathan!! I haven't seen you in a while. Been somehow missing your videos. Glad to see you're still around, brother! Oh, and good review, as always!
He only seems to make videos on this channel only and not the main channel
PLEASE take this into the mountains & do a snow test🙏🏻. You’d be the 1st to really do this, with the new generation.
Great review but the direction car makers are going...I don't know. I hate touch screens and "modes" in vehicles.

I’ve been waiting for you guys to do this Range Rover for MONTHS!!! I’m so excited❤️❤️❤️👍🏼
You have the panels to push the car forward - ton‘t forget 😊

This vehicle is designed for people that love their service tech....
There is a separate opening on the centre console so the passenger can get something out without disturbing the driver.

I was hoping for more from it. Ill be buying the lincoln aviator plug in instead.

Great video
Love the review, hate all the piano black and glossy screens, nothing says luxury like greasy piano black/dusty smeared screens
What other brand SUV would recommend in this class, otherwise Great review Nath👍
"These are all backlit so when I turn the vehicle off, all you'll see is" fingerprints.
Is that Dom DeLuise or Nathan?
You forgot to lift out the cup holders
A nice review of a future dinosaur
By a cool dinosaur 😬
A car known to be unreliable included all sorts of useless tech...OMG what was the designers thinking. Also, no surround-view camera.
I'd hate to be a salesman trying to explain all of this to people.
Nowadays all TATA cars are built well, but, strangely their engine performances are a let down across the all the range all the brands.
Luxury car and there is no legroom for rear passengers. Seats don't slide either.
Test of Time is true for all cars.
Wouldn't it be funny if someone jump started this car or reconnected the battery and then shorted out all of those screens? Hilarious. I'll stick with real, physical buttons.
Yes you can change a few things but not when your driving....
You know what. You not get everything in car. Its what, i want and thats all.
I like it but it’s a “city Rover” and I like Land Rover that look they they can for the camel trophy.
beautiful interior until after the first time you get in, from then on it's just a sea of finger prints.
IF THE DAM THING ISN'T RELIABLE IT ISN'T WORTH THE PAINT ON IT. THAT JUST KILLED IT FOR ME . I LOVE THE BODY STYLE BUT I'M GONE!
O he's great.
The arm rests lift up separately so that you don’t disturb your partner when gaining access,if their arm is resting on it. Clever eh.
Bronze Brass look, could it be Copper look?
Tie down hooks, no, carrier bag hooks.
tell me this is an off road orientated vehicle
Why can't range rover made a sun roof that Opens???
Allan Desmond you can get an opening roof. It’s an upgrade. That roof is standard.
@@mcalebeb Not on the Discovery sport.. none at all.. British quality is somewhat lacking ,an their solution to vast reports of leaking sun roofs was to stop making them..
TATA is digging further....
Its known as copper look
I bet it does everything Range Rover is known for, *break down* and *cost way too much.* *NOT IMPRESSED!* This wont last 10 years.
This won’t last outside the basic warranty lol
Too bad the beautiful infotainment is so damn laggy. really not fitting for a nice car like this
Thats a lot of "this".
Eyes!!!
Its NOT a Rover product
The British drink tea. But this car is Indian so what do they drink?
Chai
That logic would make America Chinese then. 😆🇬🇧
Still got the image of a snobbish expensive woman's car with all the silly unessesary gimmicks.
