I was a little concerned when I realized you hadn't posted in months!
I just read an article about the lawsuits with the huge payouts and the states that have the most of them. It referred to those punitive damages as a certain term I can't think of now.
I highly suspect the language in the settlement states that Baldwin takes no responsibility for her death/the shooting and the $ is compensation only because he was producing/funding the film.

This case should not be about getting elected, re-elected, or political in any way. I have worked in that industry since I was a child in the sixties. I was on the set at Indian Dunes when the Twilight Zone accident happened. I've been around a lot of explosives and guns over the years on sets. One thing I have learned is nothing is foolproof and preventive in this industry. At some point I would like to see an investigative report.

If the DA does not press charges the people of New Mexico will never re-elect her. If she does the right thing and bring charges its up the the jury to decide. I don't think the people of New Mexico would object to that. You can't let the antics of Alec Baldwin influence this.
While the settlement is with the production company and Baldwin (deep pockets) the 2 individuals directly responsible (per film industry safety protocols) are the 1st assistant director, and the armorer. So prosecute those individuals.
You may be dead on that Baldwin does not get prosecuted- but I’m not so sure right now

The victim is DEAD she can't go ahead with the case and you have no idea of what she would have wanted.
Hard to film from jail. Pretty sick he wants to continue it and also bought off the husband hoping to influence the DAs office. Total manipulation. Charge him and let a jury decide.
Do you honestly believe he knew there was a live round or round of any kind in that weapon. I grew up in this industry. I have family that still work in it today. The one thing I have learned over the years is that nothing in this industry is completely preventative or full proof.
