Wish you'd talked about whether or not to submit to a blood or urine test and that NO person (even stone cold sober) should EVER preform a field sobriety test as they're designed to implicate you NOT clear you.

4.30 In such a situation the person just has to tell the officer he is "travelling". Seriously Joe, this is a fascinating topic. Most states/countries have a designated legal limit for alcohol but the Patient Information Leaflets inform patients not to travel, sorry drive, or operate machinery if feeling drowsy. This is an video considering how many people are on prescription drugs, some of whom might be taking more than the prescribed dose or mixing with other drugs.

Yes and it’s like - you can’t stop driving just because you are on prescription drugs! Sleeping pills are the most common culprit I have seen

Same with medical marijuana. Folks think that a prescription is a get out of jail free card.

Yep! You can get a DUI for driving while on prescription marijuana

Great information! This is something I’ve been concerned about for years! I’ve been taking schedule II medications for chronic pain for over 20 years. Obviously, after 20 years of taking these medications, I am not at all impaired by them. I am going to look up the DUI laws in my state.

      Same for me.
Know your rights... NEVER submit to a field sobriety test that's designed to *implicate* you NOT to clear you.

Same! I also have a bottle that has my spares in it. I pour any left over meds into it before my next appointment and rinse repeat. I’ve got a veritable pharmacy in my bag 😂
I should probably sort that out and stick them in a safe. I’ve been taking the same meds for 18yr. I’d have to take a whole azz handful to “feel” anything from it. I w never failed a drug screen at the doctor in all that time and they are on top of those screens. I always worry about having it in my purse. I’m almost 50 and have never been pulled over. I’d be that nervous lady with “drugs” in my purse that freaks out and gets a dui just for being honest 😂

I was recently in an accident w a semi that almost killed me 3 weeks ago and am dealing with charges of a dui w reckless driving illegal drugs etc. and I have never been charged in my life. Also speeding in bad road conditions and I was going 30 in a 55 the semi was going at least 60 and plowed right through me and they said it was my fault because I was merging from a right lane to the left lane that he was in!
So now I have these charges and I've never had them in my life all I've learned is that you can do ARD and you can try to fight it but I'm not sure how I can find an attorney pro bono to do this with me I'm afraid of public defender would just end up putting me in jail lol

so I have a medical marijuana card and on prescription drugs but wasn’t high, didn’t use for hours. But still under the law I gave blood signed papers and he laughed and joked w me I wasn’t going to jail bc I was in shock strapped to the table getting scans lucky to be alive after flipping the car so many times…after being struck twice from BEHIND
