Emmets speech in the end is so powerful its my favourite speech of any film. Because he isnt trying to manipulate Lord Business. He spoke from the heart, sending the same message he learnt back at him. Its emotional and thought provoking message, topped with the parrells to the real wolrd, which by the way is the best payoffs i've seen in any film. It makes complete sense and it isnt too obvious either. Its in retrospect it all comes together. I love it. They took a famous toy brand and use it to their advantage, making logical, creatvie and original.

I also wanted to point out a nit pick of mine. When the “bad” guys revealed themselves to be the good guys all along, Lucy at one point says, “Wait, if you guys are the good guys, then who’s the bad guy?” And then the camera immediately cuts to Rex in his ship. I figured out he was evil way before he revealed himself as evil. That’s Evelyn Deavor levels of subtlety.

the second movie was actually good man; also the twist abt rex was really a surprise to me, was it so obvious to everybody else??? yes the first movie is a million times better but i dunno..being on the same level would be impossible, im glad for what the second lego movie was.
The second movie would have been fine as a stand alone but it character assassinates and has world building contradictions from the first one so it's a net negative rather than just an average movie. The story really should have been about Emmett, since he is supposed to be the Lego personification of the boy, and the one girl apparently called "general Sweet mayhem" since she looks to be the personification of the sister. Honestly it feels like Lucy and mayhem have a sibling fight which doesn't really make sense because Lucy really isn't a personification of anyone in real life. in the first one it had both the Lego world and real world story beats happening at the same time when the dad was taking everything apart and lord business was "fixing" everything also when lord business and the dad were learning their lesson. What does it even mean when things happen in the second movie???

Lego Movie is like a passionate, well-crafted love letter to all things LEGO with a lot of layers to it. Lego Movie 2 is what happens when your in-experienced sister comes in to write alongside your brother. And the brother is trying so hard to salvage it, but can't due to how utterly shit the sister's writing is. No wonder why this shit bombed and nobody remembers it like the original.
Also, are you familiar with the 2010 DreamWorks film Megamind? If so, what are your thoughts on it, and would you consider doing an audio commentary on that film? I feel that it is one of the studio's most underrated films and I really enjoy it. I'm saying this because there's a Megamind sequel coming out on Peacock this March, and it looks...disrespectful to the original film, to say the least.

You guys should probably watch the Lego Batman movie if you haven't already. It's more like the first Lego movie than the second. And doesn't (from what I can tell) break the world building that happened in the first movie. And is actually an interesting take on the Batman character itself. What is Batman without his criminals.

The story is completely convoluted with insane contrivance, nonsense, sleep-worthy boring stages, and more broken stuff, the worldbuilding gets completely shattered and convoluted thanks to the atrociously written "past" that makes no sense at all, every single character is either character assassinated or is irredeemably bad in every way, the gimmicks are just either copiwd from other games or very lazy, the game animation looks completely lazy and somewhat unfinished (not mentioning that it looks different to the first) and more. Additionally, GLaDOS's character assassination at the ending completely destroys and ruins the entire franchise beyond repair, and then that turret song afterwards is just so cringe and unfitting. There are so many more reasons why, but this is only the tip of the iceberg. Portal 2 is just abysmal at everything and there are no redeeming qualities in it.

oh man minecraft story mode had the biggest flop when they had the easiest idea possible. They took a game where you could've had the easiest "choose your own adventure" style to it with branching pathways and interesting gameplay but they gave that up in favor of making a generic story that's in fanfiction tier because they made OC things instead of the actual interesting things people could've done. Like I guarantee that if minecraft story mode was about stopping a guy with a hacked client in a server where no admins are around but the community is still tight knit then that would've been an infinitely better story than the one that involved a fake entity using fake items that don't actually exist in game
In my opinion, The LEGO Movie 2 is better than the LEGO Movie. The LEGO Movie has much more terrible plotlines, cringe, offensive ot sometimes downright painful jokes and long overwhelming section. Yes, it has a groundbreaking message and a few very cool ideas but the Second Part surpasses it in everything. It feels like an improved, repaired version of the first movie. Yes, it has bad jokes, too but there's a lot less of them this time, there are also some good jokes, where the first one had no good jokes. Also, almost everything makes sense and even the parts that at the first glance look like just some stupid gags, are in actual genius moves. There's also a lot more cool stuff and it has an even stronger and revolutionary message. To be honest, the first movie looks old and out of date in comparison to its successor. For me, saying that The LEGO Movie 1 is awesome and The LEGO Movie 2 sucks is like saying that The Hobbit (the book) is awesome and The Lord of the Rings sucks.

oh man minecraft story mode had the biggest flop when they had the easiest idea possible. They took a game where you could've had the easiest "choose your own adventure" style to it with branching pathways and interesting gameplay but they gave that up in favor of making a generic story that's in fanfiction tier because they made OC things instead of the actual interesting things people could've done.
Like I guarantee that if minecraft story mode was about stopping a guy with a hacked client in a server where no admins are around but the community is still tight knit then that would've been an infinitely better story than the one that involved a fake entity using fake items that don't actually exist in game
In my opinion, The LEGO Movie 2 is better than the LEGO Movie. The LEGO Movie has much more terrible plotlines, cringe, offensive ot sometimes downright painful jokes and long overwhelming section. Yes, it has a groundbreaking message and a few very cool ideas but the Second Part surpasses it in everything. It feels like an improved, repaired version of the first movie. Yes, it has bad jokes, too but there's a lot less of them this time, there are also some good jokes, where the first one had no good jokes. Also, almost everything makes sense and even the parts that at the first glance look like just some stupid gags, are in actual genius moves. There's also a lot more cool stuff and it has an even stronger and revolutionary message. To be honest, the first movie looks old and out of date in comparison to its successor. For me, saying that The LEGO Movie 1 is awesome and The LEGO Movie 2 sucks is like saying that The Hobbit (the book) is awesome and The Lord of the Rings sucks.
