Very enlightening ty i havent found a good reloading channel in a while.since Johnny went awol i just havent wat hed as many vids on reloadi g im subbed to most reloading channels and havent been enjoying most of the content they all put out this was refreshing and it was the first vid of yours i watched. I literally typed reloading into the search bar scrolled through vids from all the other channels and found yours. You have gained a new subscriber
For better concentricity, I remove the decapping stem/expander ball from the sizing die. I use an expander mandrel to get better concentricty of the neck, after first using a Lee Universal Decapper die to remove the primer, then a full-length reizing die with a shoulder bump of 0.002", then the expander mandrel. The expander mandrel is also useful for rounding out necks in virgin brass and prior to neck turning.
Great info. Redding also makes a body die, that just sizes the body and allows for the user to use a seperate neck die, bushing or mandrel for the neck.
Great video! I am new to reloading. Do you have a video explaining the bushing dies for different caliber reloading? If not. It would be great if you made one. Specifically what is the norm of bushing sizes (range) for different calibers. I am looking into reloading 9mm, 38 Super, 223REM Match, 308 Match, and 30-06 Match ammo. Thanks for any info!
What’s the best die set to use in a 7.62x39 semi auto gun I’m finding conflicting results from what I gathered I don’t want to neck size some say to bump neck back 2 thousandths
Hopefully you get a notice of my question. I'm just getting in reloading. 30-06 is what I want to do. Lee has a 4 piece die set; but RCBS has a 2 piece die set. I'm confused.
You really only need 2 dies like rcbs. The 4 die set from lee has a extra features. Which while nice and many people swear by them, they're not need to load a 3006 round.

Thanks, I've got some finer points to look into.
Been wondering about the differences thanks for explaining it cleared a lot up
Well explained. Thx

Amen to that. Body, neck bushing and/or mandrels.
The trim length for the xdie is .02 under not .002. Wanted to clear that up.
Thank you bud that was very clear for my newbie self
Great explanation nik. Thank you

How do you know which bushing size you need?
The American Flag is not displayed Properly. the Stars go to the left when hung this way. THANK YOU USN Vet
so for 300 blackout reloading we should use the small base resizing dies, correct?

@@redeyereloading2453 thanks for replying. Need all the info I can get.
You can use a body die for shoulder bumping only and a neck sizing bushing die for you know what.
What is a good die set for beginners for a 6.5 creedmoor and 30.06 a single stage press
Depends on whether it’s bolt or ar platform. I got a lot of good info from different forums online.
@@scubasteve3032 is a bolt savage and the 6.5 is a mossberg what do you recommend
How is it possible that 40S&W uses the same die as 10mm?
They're the same only 10mm is slightly longer. It's the same concept for 38/357 and 44spl/44mag
If the cartridge is the exact same only slightly shorter normally they use the same dies
Thank u
If Full length resizing dies, resized to factory specs, you would not need small base dies.
Your flag is backwards. Stars always go on the left
First thing I noticed as well. Drives me nuts when people don’t know how to properly display a flag.
😁👍
I thought neck sizing was for AR’s. RCBS has AR dies they are color coded black box.
