In this Blender tutorial we will be creating two different gold materials. One material will be more lumpy and bumpy for a gold nugget, and the other one will be a smooth gold material. Hope the video is helpful!

That's some high quality yellow rock
Haha, Thanks!
Thank you so much I've wanted to make a gold material, but never knew how to and now I know
Thanks for watching! Hope you found it helpful.
Your explanations are so clear!
Glad to hear that : )
Hello, I followed you, this tutorial really impressed me and the best point of this tutorial was that I didn't get tired and panicked - thank you

Thank you my dear Blender friend, it looks fantastic and is very helpful to me right now. Take care.
Thanks so much!
You make wonderful tutorials!
Thanks : )
Ryan you Rock!! lol (pun intended) I love, love, love Blender but hate nodes (don't know why) ... you made nodes interesting and fun, fun, fun. Years of avoiding nodes, bump maps and shading have been eradicated!! : D You brought color to my sad grayscale models. Sometimes it just takes little nuggets of gold to "click". You're the best!!
Glad you like it!
Your videos are a blessing!!! thank you!!!
Your welcome!
This helped me with my project a lot, thank you!
Glad it helped!
Your explanation is clear man
Thanks!
Funfact Blender Edition:ifyou use a musgrave, and you want a highly impure gold bar, "i.e lots of small imperfections" then use a musgrave texture and scale up to 800, then 15 detail, then plug that into a color ramp like in the vid, hope this helps anybody with a more dirty envirment, like a mine with gold bars made in the mine, hope this helps!
ps, in the vid thats for a small amount of noise i think, idk tho
Great idea. Thanks for the info!
Big thank you! Great tutorial, helped me a lot!

Thank you for your super thanks! I appreciate it.

you're welcome!
First, I followed the tutorial and the result was good then I purchased the project file and it was even better so thank you for both. We know that Gold and Chrome are the top metals used in any decorative combination for 3D Logos animations and many other fields. Since we got the gold, our attention is moved to the chrome now, I guess changing the color ramp colors to grey shades doesn't give the required chrome effect, So can we get a similar tutorial and a project file for this Chrome procedural material? Please! give it a thought, I believe it is worth it. Thanks again
Thanks for purchasing the project files! It really helps me out. Yeah, that's a good tutorial idea. I will consider it. Thanks!
thanks a lot for that :)
You're welcome!
Pretty sure your specks at 10:50 are just noise in the viewport render that the denoise system doesn't have enough samples to smooth out. Don't quote me on that though
Hmm, I think you might be right. Thanks!
This is just what I needed for the gold details of my battleaxe model. I also want to create a black-ish damastic steel alloy in a medieval style on some of the structural elements of the axe. How would I go about that? Thanks for the content.
Cool! 🪓
I'd just make a basic dark metal material.
Second!
@Mr. Crayons Lol!
Sir, Did you change Look in Color Management? My gold is not fresh like your gold if I don't change Look from None to high contrast, or I miss somthing? Thank you for your great tutorial.
I have it set to filmic, high contrast.
awesome cheerzz
Thanks! Cheers! : )
I have a question, I have a 750 ti in my pc and it takes forever to render(in cycles). I am thinking of upgrading my gpu. Do you have any recommendations or any ways to speed up rendering? Thanks
Love ur vids btw
Ducky 3d has a great video for speeding up render time. You could check that out: ruclips.net/video/PF8SmNFohco/видео.html
@@RyanKingArt thanks, it really helped my render times.
I hate sponsorships in tutorials. That said, thank you. Nice gold material node set up.
Thanks for watching!
Cool cool, maybe a geo nodes tutorial (not about point scattering) would be more informative?
Thanks! I will consider doing a video on that.
Hello! Thanks for the video tutorial. I'm having problems when trying to bake the material. I tried a Diffuse, a Glossy, a Trasmission and a Normal bake map, but aside this last one, the other two generates completely black textures! When I try the combine method I can see the the material, but I need the base color. Thanks for your help!
That's because its a metallic material. You need to use a different baking method for metallic materials. I have a tutorial on how to do that here: ruclips.net/video/aaRspfc9OBU/видео.html
@@RyanKingArt You are the best! I was just looking that video. Awesome content.
thx
Your welcome!
Hey Ryan, can you add a tutorial on how to export that as real gold, please? Baby needs diapers.
Lol! Wish I could do that. XD
3d print the gold then sell it and you will be very rich quickly
@@slitthroat6209 Haha, Thanks : )
@@slitthroat6209 Hahaha. That would never work, silly. (Goes out and buys a 3d printer and yells to wife "We're gonna be rich!")

Thanks for this tutorial, Very good work from you.
Who does not like gold?
I am waiting impatiently for a tutorial with an animation from you.
Alright. I will see what I can do. What animation do you have in mind? I'm working on a few sculpting tutorials right now, but maybe I can make an animation tutorial soon.
@@RyanKingArt Hi Ryan King,
Well, I might have an exact idea for a college animation. Something like the sci-fi robot or something with a text animation. I am not a good artist myself.
I have specialized in that I like to work on tutorials. And search almost every day on RUclips if I can find something new in terms of animation.
Unfortunately, there are very few in German and if they are often very bad. I don't know why the Germans brag so much about what they can do with Blender, but in fact it's nothing. So I enter my search in English, and sihe da, there come the best tutorials. My problem is that I understand very bad English or can read. And to learn English I am a bit too old. But since I'm not an absolute beginner at Blender, I can still work well after that.
And in terms of sculpting that is not my world. I have a graphic tablet from Gaomon but I can't manage with it and it doesn't work well with my iMac. So the new part is lying around in the closet. Without anyone using it.
So that's a little much written now. I hope you do not mind.
Thanks again.

@@mexlemax3307 Ok. Have you watched my Robot Drone tutorial series? At the end of it, I show you how to animate the robot. You might enjoy doing that tutorial series.
@@RyanKingArt Yes I have seen that and also already done.
That was really a lot of work. But it was worth it. And has also become super. Only the texture has not worked as well as with you. I would love to show you my final Robot Drone But unfortunately I have no Instagram or the like.
Also I made the astronaut. Has also become super with me.
Well something like that I could imagine. Just a cool sci-fi animation.
Oh so when do you sleep?
Thank you for a quick friendly answer.

@@mexlemax3307 I'm located in the United States, so its just the evening for me currently. I will go to bed in about an hour.
Hi, im having a bit of an issue. My gold material has some weird black dots and I think it makes it look a little bit more pixelated. Thanks for the tutorial.
hmm thats odd. did you try changing the color ramp values?
what would be a good way to make the gold look cracked? Voronoi texture?
If you watch my Procedural Concrete material, I make cracks in the concrete. You can use that method to add cracks to the Gold. Here is the part in the tutorial: ruclips.net/video/XDqRa0ExDqs/видео.html
Hope this helps!
@@RyanKingArt Works great, thank you!
@@X360DevNerd Sweet!
[Fixed] My smooth gold had mysterious lumps on it even with no texture in render. Solution: Replacing the emission panel with an area light fixed it.
Ok cool. Glad you fixed the problem.
Very nice tutorial ! I don’t know why but as long as my bump is connected to the normal my object will just be black ….
Hmm, thats odd. Did you plug the noise texture into the height on the bump?
@@RyanKingArt that helped thank you!
@@Hman911999 Yay! Glad to hear it fixed the problem. 🙂
I guess I'll have to believe that this is gold. I've never seen it in real life lol
Oh yeah.
How do you bake the gold texture
check out my texture baking tutorials on my RUclips channel.
For the very first time the first step wasn't:
"We're gonna begin by adding a Voronoi texture."
Me a few moments later: OH OF COURSE IT'S CTRL + T!!!
😂
Also, the specks probably come from like blender trying to calculate the shininess of the gold, and when it's higher, it's not very shiny, and so it doesn't really have any calculating to do.
Sir i have problem, my ctrl+shift key or even ctrl+T doesnt work on nodes
Make sure you turn on the node wrangler add-on. I talk about it at the beginning of the video.
@@RyanKingArt Thank you sir !, Accidentaly skipped that part
@@MZIYADRChannel No worries. : ) Thanks for watching!
'Buy 3D models:' link in your description is not working
Thanks for letting me know! I think I fixed it. Try it now.
(Edit: The Links Should be fixed now)
Hmm, it seems like when using Google Chrome, the link is acting weird. I'm working with the Sketchfab team to fix the issue. Thanks for letting me know about this.
skip to 5:50 for the gold material

@@RyanKingArt 😂
Gold matiral
yep
But, Sir, these colours, that You create by Color Ramp must be generated by Reflection. Only in a Reflection way, You can say that those material are Physical correct. In Your way, this material can't be used in most cases, only just like a shiny, bumpy rock. Nothing personal, just PBR. ;-)
Hmm, I guess I don't know as much about real life physical materials as you.
I got a pink help me
Something is pink? Maybe you moved a texture so Blender doesn't know where its located on your computer. If that's the problem, then add the texture or HDRI back into Blender, and the Pink should go away.
how can i use it on gta v?
To use the material in a game engine, you will need to bake it to texture maps. Check out my video on how to texture bake procedural materials.
Hello! I’m, Jessica. Can you please make a RUclips video on how to sculpt characters that I’ve drawn that way I can watch & follow along? If, you have a Twitter account, I’d be happy to send you my drawings of them.
Hello. That's a cool idea. I might be able to do that. Although, I don't use twitter. But if you'd like to send a link to your artwork, or contact me though my contact page, I can take a look and see if I'd be able to make a tutorial sculpting one of your drawings. No promises that I'll be able to do it, but maybe I could. : )
