Devil’s advocate, “above all” needs to be clarified. Above all *KNOWN* existence? Or above all *UNKNOWN* existence? If the marvel uni/multiverse is rapidly expanding into infinite, there’s nothing to say there can’t be the possibility for something to come along to be much stronger than TOAA. Records are broken every day, and there’s no reason to believe the power scaling can’t be topped by something else

It was really a doombot not the real One Above All the whole time! Or was a an LMD, or a clone, or a Skrull, or was the watcher wrong when he said it really was the one above all, or is it a hologram or a hallucination? She didn't really die when she fell of the cliff. Yes you saw the body but it was a super secret double and they planned the whole thing in advance! Never mind it's been a decade and three different writers since then. Marvel planned it from the beginning!
Comics are all nonsense now. It's just a 80 year old story written by 2 dozen people one month at a time.

At no point in Defenders #5 did Al Ewing say The Enigma was more powerful than the one above all.
The crown above all things moniker just meant that it existed outside time and space (Just like the other realms past the foreshore) and pointed to the fact that the Enigma was the original Nathaniel Essex i.e the King sinister.
He's even stated to be Enternity's enemy, not TOAA's.

The biggest problem with comics is the goddamn power creep that keeps happening to appease the sweatys.
its not to appease the sweatys, that crowd just wants positions to be static and make sense. the writers are rarely good enough to see working in a system to be possible without exposing their lack of skill.

It used to be a clear cut power set and tier that gave logic to the comics and it made us understood how logic worked on a cosmic scale. It also served well to truly hone in on how grave or dire a situation is when something of a cosmic level comes through.
Like Galactus used to be the high ceiling, and nothing went past the Phoenix or the other Abstracts. Lately though, everyone dipshit street level character, or some obscurely powerful herald level dude just gets a random powerup to rewrite the world willy nilly because it's "cool."
It's getting dumb and it's why it's extremely hard to follow comics. There needs to be an overarching authority that keeps this stuff in check for a sensible narrative overall, but that won't happen these days.

It feels like the writers at Marvel have no sense of loyalty to the history of the comic line, and want to make their mark above all else.

It's no wonder anime/manga is dominating the fictional landscape right now. I tend to stick with very specific street level heroes nowadays regarding Marvel and found that much better to digest and enjoy.

I think the really important difference between Dominion and TOOA is that if the TOOA removes the multiverse then it’s fine it just starts over. However the dominion seems to be limited by the fact that it originates from time. Its origin is a single thread that can be pulled in such a way that it unravels.
At least that’s my theory.

in a way it can work but there is just 1 problem,if the one above all is omnipresent it sees all meaning it would stop dominion before it can become to strong unless it knows that dominon is no treath from the one above all.
and then there is another thing that makes it impossible for dominion to be stronger and that simple fact is how can something be stronger then an eternal beeing that has made everything,the one above all is one with everything so the dominion trying to destroy it would mean destroying itself because without the one above all the marvel universe cant exist.
I keep going back to Hickman’s data pages in HOX/POX (because they’re so damn good) where it explains that the only thing Dominions fear are the Phoenix and Galactus.
This gives us a pseudo scale. The One Above All, the One Below All, the Beyonders and Franklin Richards seem to be the top tier of hierarchy.
Galactus, the Phoenix Force and Dominions seem to be the next level down 🤔

@amogus1415 You're not wrong that TOAA has certainly been used that way, but that's where editorial oversight should have come in. Some writers grasp the concept, while others just use it as a stand-in for the Christian Yahweh, which narratively is massively problematic.
At the end of day, we the readers, just have to tolerate narrative inconsistencies. 🙄

The Lost One is a dumb storyline imo he or rather it might be extremely powerful possibly a True Beyonder whose power was stolen by beings who call themselves Beyonders (the writers at Marvel need to figure out what exactly they want to do with those guys the whole retcon thing with the Secret Wars Beyonder and the creators of the Cosmic Cubes who are the Beyonders is so covoluted and messy to say the least) But in any event the Lost One cannot be more powerful than TOAA. @@Yokai_Yuri

lol sounds like cope, it’s been the worst year for comics and superhero movies.
Storylines such as these are the reason why I read Marvel and DC comics sporadically. They make "rules" to their universe, they make beings which are supposed to be the end all and be all, then a new writer or writers come in end and change everything. So the Alpha of the universe is just the Alpha of the moment. It gets annoying and frankly makes no sense what so ever to argue about.

The Marvel Universe is pure chaos. One above all should be it, nothing else. Nothing beside it, no equal.

The plot is a little strange in the sense that how the AI achieves Dominion status only by others reaching it. How an isolated system achieves Dominion just by existing. Isn't it like it can try the methods by itself.
It "stole" the energy they attempted to used to achieved Dominion for itself.
its more like they (the four sinisters) are it (the dominion), as it was mentioned in the comic they had fails safes built in, and as soon as they achieved dominion those fail safes would immediately trigger, so its not like for different people achieved dominion at four different points in time, its more like the same entity achieving dominion four different times
All seems feasible. Maybe Essex used stolen celestial tech, this reminds me of Apocalypse and Sinister old tricks. Like something similar the the Twelve Circuit.

I dont see how oblivion is above TOAA when he follows the commands of the Living tribunal who by default answers to TOAA, Marvel saying TOAA isn't the most powerful is just more bad writing and further destroying a once understandable hierarchy, its almost as bad as the beyonder retcons.
I agree. Oblivion is part of the order of abstract concepts. He still has his limits which he is allowed to what he can and cannot do. Otherwise he would just have destroyed the Marvel universe already by himself, without using avatars. Oblivion still seems to need approval on what he is able to get away with.

Just like the 1st Firmament created the Aspirants/Celestials. The Celestials beat the 1st Firmament and Aspirants. Then the Celestials created the Beyonders, who happen to beat all cosmic entities including the Celestials themselves, Eternity, Infinity and Living Tribunal.
Afterwards it was revealed the Celestials created the Lost One who the Beyonders took his power to become as powerful as they were to begin with. At that rate, I though the Celestials were going to be the creators of the One Above All and every other cosmic entity.@@cheeseburgerfreddy6350

I don't what the setup is here - reworking godly beings. The King in Black is an antithesis to the Beyonders. Now, there's the Lost One. Is just confusing. Isn't Eddie's final form just existing outside time & space like the Dominion?

I don't think there really is anything to say that the dominion is more powerful than TOAA, but its definitely pretty powerful. Been loving this runs treatment of Sinister and expanding his lore and story. Cannot WAIT to see how the Krakoa fall arc ends. Got me HUNGRY for more X-Men.
I didn't think they could make Sins of Sinister worse, but they somehow did. God I am so glad I don't buy a single comic and just watch you Rob. I would want a refund after reading this.

Marvel is becoming more and more unreadable everytime they decide they wanna change their Cosmic heirarchy. Now we have TOAA not atually being the TOAA. Its becoming convoluted and silly. Now we have a being who takes the shape of a Crown as supposedly the most powerful until a writer writing a comic decides its not the most powerful. Seems to me Marvel has a bunch of writers having a pissing contest. Hulks writer has the Mother of Horrors we have this crown and Oblivion. Which writer decides what all powerful being is the true all powerful? And I didn't even mention TOBA who is TOAA Hulked out who defeated Urdru created by Mother of Horrors who was supposed to be superior to TOAA.
It's almost as if when you write a 60 to 70 years story eventually it becomes so weighty that it collapses in on itself and you have to start over it amazes me how comic book fans always want something new that never changes

Well, this proves what I've been saying for years; The Phoenix Force is the most powerful being in the comics along with Toaa. The Phoenix is literally the powers of Toaa. If Dominion went into the white hot room to gain all this powers, which is basically the Phoenix itself, it means Phoenix "gave" power to Dominion, it's that simple. Even in Defenders beyond, it was established that nothing could ever defeat the Phoenix in white hot room. The Phoenix Force is basically the marvel itself more or less.

its like sthe situation with the progenitor celestial during jugment day: it wasnt "reborn"/"born" yet, still he was able to speak to the reader while being a "dead" Celestial and after its "defeat"/back to being a deceased celestial during the event conclution

Going forward, it said that Sage and the others are going to find a clone of Beast to help them fight the actual Beast, but I think that it would be cool to have Beast and Mr. Sinister have a role reversal. What I mean is imagine Beast goes on and does some shady and villainous stuff like experimenting on people and killing humans for Mutant kind and whatnot, and Mr. Sinister joins the X-Men and other Mutants like how he is working with Charles Xavior and what not, so Beast is doing the villainous stuff and Mr. Sinister helps the heroes.

Orchis didn't plan it & Arakko (Mars) was up and running before Uranos dropped by. Moira did help Druig with intel on which mutants to kill first.

The dominion/enigma confuses me. This is something the beyonders feared, and it is said dominion would only fear phoenix force and galactus. But galactus got overpowered by the celestials, And the beyonders would also beat galactus. So why would galactus be a threat to dominion, and why would the beyonders fear it?

If I recall, thanks to Rob of course, Moira will reset to when she was born which means if she was cloned, they wouldn't be able to use her to reset anything that happened before her birth, or creation as a clone. So, it wouldn't work even if they could get it working.
My theory now is that comics writers want their worlds to be real so badly that they've spent the last few decades trying to write a story where the characters break into the 'real world', believing that if they write it well enough and explain it well enough then it might actually happen.
I can see this whole era being retconned. Pretty soon…

I had honestly thought that The One Above All would have been the most, if not even more powerful, because of the passing of Stan Lee. Now they are all reworking the hierarchy of Marvel's Gods, and it kind of bums me out that the One Above All is not going to be the strongest anymore, but I will stay along for the ride.

They have already said there is someone just as powerful as the one above all already. When Reed Sue and Johnny went to heaven to get Ben Grimm back they met the one above all who looked like Jack Kirby at the time was getting off the phone with “someone he collaborates with alot” there, so yeah it’s already been mentioned a bunch of years ago.
