Thanks for your video. Do they need a small amount of threadlocker when you put them back in? It looks like something is on the bolt or is that just wear thanks Ian
Hi there very well informative video!!!! I have to take my seat out for over 2 weeks while its sent off for repaire mines a 2011 fiesta but has the heated and airbags in seat! Will i reset everything in my car and will car loose key programning if battery left off for 2 weeks? Thanks
I doubt the electronics to sense a collision and fire the air bag is buried inside the seat. For one, the system has to fire multiple bags scattered around the car. It would make it harder to service too. No, the collision sensing system and air bag trigger are likely under the dash, center column, or the floor, and the connection to the seat air bag only caries the electrical current needed to fire the explosive. Why would the manufacturer design the system to fire when the airbag connector is disconnected? A corroded or slightly loose connector could then trigger the deployment of the bag by just driving over a bump. To those of you who think disconnecting the battery is a guaranteed safe approach, I would say this....Wikipedia and other sources say the bags on a parked car will trigger long after the ignition is turned off. Capacitors store enough charge to activate the bags. So how long are you going to wait after you disconnect the battery? Do you know how long those capacitors will store enough charge to fire the system? Some capacitors store charge for MONTHS. Why do I mention all this? On my car, removing the battery will screw up the engine computer. I need to take my drivers seat out. I think I will just switch off the ignition and disconnect the airbag. I will try and remember to come back here to report.
No, they will only be for the pre tension on your seatbelts if your in a crash, the main airbags are more hidden and will only go off if the vehicle senses a crash
EXELLENT VIDEO, GOOD SIR!! Thank you for taking the time to show us this!
That looks so easy, I wish I have that tool for screws, 🙏 I’m going to try it! Your video gave me confidence
Many thanks for posting this info ! Much appreciated.
Thank you very much!
Thank very much. All the information that I need. Keep going
Very plain information good video

That's brilliant, mate. Just one question: what are the wires underneath the driver's seat?
Airbags/heated seat

So the airbags explode if i dont unhook the battery???
