Thanks for the informative video! I just came in after having fixed this issue, though I used a 12mm drill bit shaft and valve honing paste to "ream" the plastic bushing. I also drilled and tapped a hole into the middle so i could fit a grease nipple and press some grease in there. Some people use an electric drill to ream out the plastic bush, but it could melt the bush, so i use a 12.5 mm drill bit held with vice grips, cheers

One lady in the comments below said she was billed around £900 to have this repaired and they still didn't resolve it properly! Shocking really. I have an issue with mine where the clutch needs bleeding quite often as the biting point gradually drops so low that it wont disengage without you pumping it a few times, quite frustrating
That sucks Harry. Could it possibly be that you have some sort of leak in the system that's allowing air to be drawn in each time you depress the clutch pedal? I assume the clutch is hydraulically-operated rather than cable-operated? I'm not too sure myself. 😬
Interesting point there Tom. No doubt that this issue with the Mk6 Fiesta is common, which would suggest a design fault. Thankfully, it cost me nothing to fix and it was pretty simple to sort out.
This is what’s happening to my fiesta, it started last year, garage told me clutch paid 390 for clutch still happened, contacted another mechanic he sprayed it with wd40 and charged me 150 quid for the privilege then as soon as I drove it in the rain it happened again! I then specifically told a garage this is what they need to do, what your doing in the video, they quoted me 987 quid to do it! I declined and the gear change is getting worse! I’d take a crack at it myself but I lack the tools to do it! Even mechanic friends I know, tell me it’s a massive job and they would charge upwards of 600! I can’t afford to pay that especially for such a simple problem! 😢😢😢
Hi Cherry. That's pretty sad to read that. Had I not been videoing myself doing this, I'd have had it done within an hour. It's so easy and cost me no money to do it. I only used a few basic tools as well. To be given quotes like that is ridiculous. I really hope you can get yours sorted. If you're near the Nottinghamshire area, let me know and I'll have a go myself. 👍
Hopefully my video will help you get yours sorted Graham. Honestly mate, ours was like trying to stir concrete. After this fix, the transformation was amazing. Really easy to do as well. No complicated tools needed. Keep me posted pal. Cheers.
Good question Colin. I'm pretty sure I did this with the car in neutral. The reason I think this was because I couldn't get it into a gear at the time! 🤣
Sorry Paul. I can't remember. 😣 All I made sure of was that it was one that was just ever-so slightly larger than the size of that spindle piece. Hope this helps. Keep me posted on your repair. 👍

Hi mate I’ve had similar issues my car was stiff going into gears the next morning it’s not going in any gears once the cars on once the cars of it make gears
Hey buddy. Mine was doing this too before I attempted this fix. Moving the stick between the gears was, essentially, freeing them up after it had been stood. The thing was, the stiffness was getting worse as time went on, to the point where just leaving the car overnight was enough to cause a problem. Now though, after this fix, even to this day, the gears are still spot-on. Never had a problem since.
Hi Adam. The problem we had with ours was that any gear was a struggle, even trying to get it in and out of neutral. If it's just 1st gear in yours, this may not fix it. This said, it's so easy to do, it's worth trying, especially as it would cost you nothing. If I'd just got on with it without filming, etc, I'd have had this done in less than an hour, and I'm far from a qualified mechanic! If it works, happy days. If it doesn't, I'd suggest asking questions on Fiesta forums. Most of them are pretty helpful and should be able point you in the right direction. Keep me posted pal. Cheers. 👍
Hi Louis. Thanks for your feedback. The whole point of doing this video was to follow the tutorial of another RUclipsr, to see if his theory worked.
