I like how in the opening scenes they usually have another vehicle from that brand to showcase before they start with the review of the main vehicle. Something minor but cool.
Why does it have to be built in Japan. It all depends on the manufacturer if they want to put the developing on teaching people how to assemble a vehicle.
At least it does what it sets out to do well. Roomy, fuel efficient, and powerful enough. Still, it wouldn't be my first choice, even in terms of lexus SUVs.
@@TheBjjones agreed. I called it all over the internet and I said from the get go that the tx would be such a disappointment before it was unveiled. I’m so happy it turned out to be exactly what I expected: a lackluster product that’s DOA
I'm still trying to get use to the front end design, but everything else looks good. It will sell like hotcakes for sure! I'm a big Toyota/ Lexus fan. Love our 2010 Highlander and 2015 Lexus NX, which are still going strong! I'll take quality over fancy, gimmicky tech cars.
Looks like it should be called a mini van😢 The interior Looks cheap and uninspiring . And with Toyota's reliability problems of late this is a hard pass . Epic fail . these will be discounted heavily in the next 6 to 8 months.
I know Lexus is trying to stand out, but man that front end is just ugly and weird looking. And why would you buy this over the Grand highlander? Toyota interiors are practically the same level as a lexus now.

As a Lexus enthusiast that has owned 7 of them and has 3 currently, this is an ugly vehicle that will suffer the German car fate of hard depreciation and expensive repairs once the warranty ends. You are better off buying a used V8 200 series Land Cruiser which can still be had with manufacturer warranty. Not that you will need it in a vehicle engineered to go 300K miles in developing nations with bad roads and low quality fuel. The LC will probably go up in value once V8 engines are completely banned in any vehicle costing under $150K retail. If you want a new trendy vehicle and will dispose of it before the warranty expires, you might as well buy a BMW or Mercedes Benz SUV instead of the TX.
V8 Land Cruiser is a lot thirstier than this turbo 4, and it’s for family duty so it will be driven around all over the place in town. It’s got a lower load floor and way better third row. It’s pretty much a minivan. Different vehicle purposes. Not every vehicle needs to be a supremely capable off road 4x4. Trust me, I got an L322. Haha.
Nope you’re wrong The tx is dead on arrival compared to just about any other 3 row suv. I even wrote a blog on the tx explaining in detail why the tx is the worst choice in the class
@@windwalker121no it’s not. Any other 3 row suv that not luxury is significantly faster and they’re not even dedicated performance SUVs like an x5M or Porsche Cayenne
@@allentoyokawa9068best in class how? One of the slowest in class, boring to drive, Lexus interiors are just OK. Is it reliable? Probably, but I want Lexus to offer more than that.
Honestly, if you think about what families want, a crossover isn’t horrible. It just needs to be comfortable and reliable, as well as feature packed. However, I fail to see the point of buying this vs a fully-loaded Grand Highlander. Toyota’s prestige as a brand has increased significantly since the popularity of the Land Cruiser, Tundra, and Sequoia and many wealthy families pay big money for those models. Having a Lexus may not necessarily impress your neighbors any more than having a well-maintained Toyota in your driveway (and a Mercedes in the garage).
Watch a few more reviews. The quality of the ride, handling, interior noise levels are really on another level vis a vis the Grand Highlander of any stripe. Drive them both and you shall see!
John is the pioneer to car reviews, better yet his the godfather of car reviews!😊
A performance comparison of the different engine choices would have been nice.
I like how in the opening scenes they usually have another vehicle from that brand to showcase before they start with the review of the main vehicle. Something minor but cool.
Yes, it’s John making this review! 🇺🇸👍💪
I love it! I wish they added bamboo wood trim option for the interior.
My dream is a Lexus minivan. Way more cargo space than a TX and a better third row while driving better.
I feel ya!!
Big square box Lexus.
Long overdue, actually.
Do the mirrors automatically fold when the engine is off like the Kia Sorento?
Yes.
Only when you lock it.
Yes. The Kia actually does it like the Lexus. 🤭
Many new Lexus design takes a decade for people to get use to, the front facial of this one continues that tradition.
The 550h is over 400hp not 301
404hp to be exact.
350 is 275hp, 500h is 366hp & 550h+ is 404hp all Lexus/Toyota figures and no torque ratings are given for hybrid powertrains.
Will the Lexus TX go global to fight the Mercedes GLS and BMW X7?
No it won’t. Lexus can’t even fight Mazda Acura Lincoln Genesis Hyundai kia or now Infiniti
They are gonna sell zillions of these.
Looks too much like the Grand Highlander
You’re right and the interior of the Grand Highlander looks nicer
Love Toyato but this looks like a bit like minivan and is the of equivalent of Ford’s mercury move back in the day. Still quality
Nice, but it NEEDS to be built in JAPAN
My Canadian built RX is solid. It's a 2017 with 100k on it, no issues just regular maintenance, lof, tires, battery, brakes, fluids, filters, plugs.
As is my canadian built corolla with 315k

A large, car based SUV is called a minivan. This is the problem with the TX. Who’d drive this unless they had to?
There are gated communities all over the US where the Grand Highlander won’t cut it (in their minds).
